Abstract

1,002,513. Non-refillable bottles. A. GUALA. May 14, 1962, No. 18476/62. Heading B8D. A non-refillable bottle stopper 1 comprises a valve body 5 of plastics material, having internal ribs 10 to which is fixed a disc 12 having an element 11 acting as a guide for the stem 15 of a valve member 14, the head 16 of which is seated in the opening 3a of a plastics washer 3. A cover 19 may be removed after tearing off a band 23. A stem 20 on the cover 19 extends through an opening 13 in the disc 12 to engage a seat 21 on the valve member 14, thereby effecting a seal. A jagged edge 17 on the member 14 prevents it sticking to the disc 12. Liquid poured from the bottle displaces the member 14 and passes out between the ribs 10. In a modification, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), the valve member 14 has a frusto-conical head and the end of the stem 20 has means for turning the member 14.
