Abstract

1,001,522. Folding doors. P. F. WILLIAMS. April 26, 1963 [Jan. 30, 1962], No. 3443/62. Headings E1J and E2M. A folding door comprises upper and lower sections 1, 2 hinged horizontally together at 3, the section 1 being hinged on a lintel 18 and the section 2 carrying guide rollers 5 running in vertical channels 4. The door is counterbalanced by a weight 8 acting through cables 25 passing through tubes 14 in the lintel 18 and secured to the outside of the section 2. Guide pulleys 10, 11 are provided at opposite ends of each tube 14, Fig. 3 (not shown). The Specification also discloses and claims a set of components for use with door sections, to form the folding door shown, such set including the tube 14 and pulley 10, 11.
