Abstract
1,000,813. Heavy-ion-beam tubes. HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEERING CORPORATION. July 17, 1961, No. 34174/64. Divided out of 1,000,811. Heading H1D. [Also in Division H2] In a direct-voltage particle accelerator of the tandem type, as described in Specification 1,000,811, in which a charge transfer device is provided within a high voltage terminal, a first electron stripper is provided within the high voltage terminal and a second electron stripper is provided farther along the path of the beam after the particles have acquired additional energy. In the four-stage accelerator shown the electron stripper in terminal 4 is a gas canal, or alternatively a foil, and the additional electron stripper 33 is a foil. Specification 1,000,812 also is referred to.
