Il existe une grande diversité de sacoches à fixer sur le porte-bagages arrière, mais elles ont une capacité de chargement limité. Elles obligent souvent à des transvasements, par exemple de son cabas de course à la sacoche. Elles sont spécifiques pour le vélo, c'est à dire qu'on ne s'en sert pas en dehors du vélo. Elles sont assez coûteuses, et elles s'usent.

On trouve aussi de nombreux paniers, métallique ou plastique, à fixer sur le dessus ou sur le côté du porte-bagage. Ces produits, comme les sacoches, sont limités en capacité de chargement, et ils obligent souvent à des transvasements. Les paniers latéraux sont assez encombrants, ce qui peut être gênant pour circuler dans le trafic routier. Certains paniers sont repliables, ce qui améliore leur encombrement, mais leur capacité de chargement en poids est inférieure aux versions non repliables.
Les brevets récents CN109278907A et CN20823323BU présentent des paniers arrières extensibles, la fonctionnalité reste proche d'un panier pliable. La structure semble fragile, et le volume de chargement est limité
