Abstract

Un frein (11) pour véhicule automobile, comprend une chape destinée à être rendue fixe par rapport à un disque de freinage (13) du véhicule qui s’étend suivant une direction transversale, une paire de plaquettes (14i, 14e) situées de part et d’autre du disque (13), un étrier (12) mobile en translation par rapport à la chape dans une direction normale à la direction transversale, et des moyens d’actionnement (22) pour presser les plaquettes (14i, 14e) contre le disque, ces moyens d’actionnement agissant lors d’une commande de freinage directement sur une plaquette dite intérieure (14i) de la paire de plaquettes pour la presser contre le disque (13) et agissant sur l’autre plaquette dite extérieure (14e) par réaction de translation de l’étrier pour la presser contre le disque (13). L’étrier (12) comprend un bras extérieur (12e) au niveau duquel est formée une surface d’appui qui s’étend transversalement et en appui contre la plaquette extérieure (14e) pour la presser contre le disque (13) lorsque l’étrier est déplacé en translation. Cet étrier (12) comporte un dégagement qui s’étend depuis l’extrémité transversale du bras extérieur qui est située en région d’attaque de la plaquette extérieure (14e).
