Roofer storage bin

The present invention is in the field of building roofing, and is more particularly aimed at the roofing of frameworks comprising a slate roofing material. The present invention relates in particular to a storage box for storing slates and/or roofing tools.

Slate roofs are traditionally mounted by roofers on the battens of the framework, which framework is most often at a height requiring the presence of scaffolding. To make a roof, and for its maintenance, the roofer must generally erect such a scaffold as close as possible to the area to be treated. Such scaffolding serves in particular to facilitate the storage of elements to be mounted on the roof, such as slates, and to bring the necessary tools as close as possible to the workspace.

Slates are often placed on the ground or high on a scaffolding platform, and it is difficult to keep them stacked high without risk of falling.

Application JP11245181 describes a roofer's toolbox for storing items on a roof. Such a box does not have the shape suitable for storing slates, and its structure makes its use incompatible with fixing near scaffolding or a ladder, since the formwork of the box is positioned on rails which must cooperate with the ridge of the roof.

Application JP2010037908 describes a roof structure element, of the metal tile type made from a sheet of metal which is bent. Such a sheet of metal does not have a space dedicated to the storage of flat elements, and the hollow of the sheet does not have a right angle for blocking flat elements such as roofing slates.

To overcome all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks of the state of the art, the present invention relates to a storage bin for slate comprising a storage compartment having substantially the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, characterized in that the storage bin comprises an anchoring means provided for anchoring to a metal bar.

Such a configuration of the storage bin according to the invention makes it possible to store stacked flat elements, such as slates, in complete safety in the storage compartment and to fix the bin to one of the metal bars of a scaffolding.

The invention is advantageously implemented according to the embodiments and variants set out below, which are to be considered individually or according to any technically effective combination.

Advantageously, the storage compartment is a gutter with a substantially “u” section. The compartment is open on both sides on the sides which facilitates access to the interior of the tray by the roofer.

Advantageously, the anchoring means is a groove with a substantially "u" section. Such a groove allows fixing along the entire length of the box, which guarantees a secure hold, even when there is a strong wind.

Advantageously, the U-section groove is positioned opposite said storage compartment. Such a conformation makes it possible to minimize the useful volume of the storage bin to be positioned on the scaffolding.

Advantageously, the storage box is made of a folded sheet of metal. Such a tank is of a simple and robust design, which allows high production rates for its manufacture.

Advantageously, the metal sheet comprises at least one metal selected from aluminum, zinc and steel, preferably the metal sheet is a galvanized steel sheet.

Advantageously, the sheet of metal has cutouts on its four corners. The cutouts make it possible to remove the protruding edges for greater comfort of use.

Figure 1 shows a roof 1 in front of which is erected a scaffolding 2 and storage bins 3 placed on a railing 4 of the scaffolding. The storage bin 3 is particularly useful for storing roof slates and comprises, according to a preferred embodiment, a storage compartment 5 having the shape of a gutter with a substantially "u" section. The compartment is sized to contain a block of stacked slates, ideally ten to twenty stacked slates, its width "L" is at least 23 cm and its depth "P" is at least 15 cm (see on the figure 4).

The storage box 3 according to the invention comprises an anchoring means 6 consisting of, according to a preferred variant, a groove 7 of substantially "u" section. The storage bin is made from a sheet of metal which is folded, and is more particularly cut with a guillotine and shaped with a workshop folder. The sheet of metal has four cutouts 8 on these four corners to prevent the roofer from injuring himself while handling the trays.

The anchoring means 6 is made, according to a variant, in the form of a groove, the light of which opens out along an outer wall of the storage compartment 3 (see in FIG. 4). According to a preferred variant, the anchoring means 6 in the form of a groove opens opposite the internal part of the storage compartment 3 (see in FIG. 3).

Storage box (3) for slates comprising a storage compartment (5) having substantially the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, characterized in that the storage box comprises an anchoring means (6) provided for anchoring on a metal bar. Storage box (3) according to Claim 1, in which the storage compartment (5) is a gutter of substantially "u" section. Storage box (3) according to one of claims 1 to 2, in which the anchoring means (6) is a groove (7) of substantially "u" section. Storage box (3) according to claim 3, in which the groove (7) of "u" section is positioned opposite the said storage compartment (5). Storage box (3) according to one of Claims 1 to 4, in which the storage box is made of a folded sheet of metal. A storage box (3) according to claim 5, wherein the metal sheet comprises at least one metal selected from aluminium, zinc and steel. Storage box (3) according to one of Claims 5 or 6, in which the sheet of metal has cutouts (8) on its four corners.
