L’invention concerne une cuve étanche et thermiquement isolante dans laquelle la membrane étanche de la paroi d’extrémité (102) comporte une première série d’ondulations (118) parallèles à la deuxième paroi (104), 106) et espacées d’un premier pas d’ondes y et une deuxième série d’ondulations (120) perpendiculaires à la deuxième paroi et espacées du premier pas d’ondes y, la membrane étanche de chaque paroi longitudinale comportant une pluralité, les ondulations longitudinales (126) de la première paroi (108) étant espacées d’un deuxième pas d’ondes z supérieur au premier pas d’ondes y et raccordées continûment à l’une des première et deuxième séries d’ondulations (120,118) de la paroi d’extrémité par un arrangement d’angle, et dans laquelle l’angle (130,132) entre un plan de la première paroi (108) et un plan de la deuxième paroi (104, 106) et un rapport entre le premier pas d’ondes y et le deuxième pas d’ondes z sont définis en correspondance l’un avec l’autre.
