Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé d'activation d'un mode de conduite autonome d'un véhicule automobile, ci-après véhicule hôte, le véhicule initialement dans un mode de conduite assistée, le procédé comportant les étapes consistant à : - déterminer (32) si l'activation d'un mode conduite autonome est possible ; - si l'écart entre le véhicule hôte et le véhicule le précédant, ci-après véhicule cible, est inférieur à une valeur minimale requise pour l'activation du mode de conduite autonome, augmenter (34) l'écart entre le véhicule hôte et le véhicule le précédant ; lorsque l'écart entre le véhicule hôte et le véhicule le précédant est égal ou supérieur à la valeur minimale requise, afficher (36) un message à l'attention du conducteur indiquant que le mode de conduite autonome est disponible.
