Abstract

Un groupe motopropulseur (1) pour véhicule automobile, comprend : - un catalyseur (15), - une sonde à oxygène amont (16), - une sonde à oxygène aval (17), - une unité de commande (10) configurée pour lancer une première procédure de diagnostic utilisant le signal (Rdownstr) de la sonde aval lorsqu'un ensemble prédéterminé de conditions de fonctionnement (Xi) du groupe motopropulseur sont réunies, et pour lancer une deuxième procédure de diagnostic utilisant le signal (Rupstr) de la sonde amont lorsqu'un deuxième ensemble prédéterminé de conditions de fonctionnement (Xi) du groupe motopropulseur sont réunies. L'unité de commande (10) est configurée pour appliquer une suite de premières oscillations de consigne de richesse (cons), et pour calculer une première variable d'état (Test1) de fonctionnement du catalyseur (15) à partir de la variation du signal (Rdownstr) fourni par la sonde aval (17). L'unité de commande (10) est configurée pour inhiber la deuxième procédure de diagnostic si la valeur de la première variable d'état appartient à un ensemble de valeurs prédéfinies.
