Abstract

Description

Cosmetic application device comprising a deformable wall

The present invention relates to devices for the application of a cosmetic product, especially a makeup or care product.

More generally, a cosmetic product is a product as defined in Regulation EC No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council dated November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products.

The European patent application EP 1 253 089, in the name of the Applicant, discloses an applicator consisting of a sintered thermoplastic elastomer. The sinter is mounted in the bottom of a lid by a spring which absorbs part of the pressing force exerted by the applicator on the face. Depending on the softness of the application that one wishes, one chooses a spring of stiffness more or less weak.

European Patent Application EP 0 688 516, in the name of the Applicant, discloses a powder compact comprising a container containing a product and a lid. The container has a piston with at least one orifice for the outlet of the product. An application member is mounted on a spring in the bottom of the lid. When the lid is separated from the container, the spring is relaxed. The application surface is located outside the cover in a position of maximum spacing from the bottom. When the lid is screwed onto the container, the applicator element can bear against the piston, which compresses more or less the spring, depending on the position of the piston in the container.

However, according to these documents, the position of the device relative to the lid is completely determined by deformable element, spring or rubber block. To change this position, the user can just exert pressure on the application surface of the device

There is a need to benefit from a mobile device relative to the lid whose position can be better controlled by the user, and this other than by acting on the application surface of T applicator.

There is a need for a device that can provide a hygienic configuration for storing the application element out of the container.

There is a need to benefit from a device that offers new possibilities in terms of aesthetics and ergonomics.

There is also a need for a new gesture and a new sensorality related to the application of a product. The invention aims to meet all or part of these needs.

DEFINITION OF THE INVENTION The subject of the invention is a device for applying a longitudinal axis X comprising a cosmetic element fixed to a holding capsule and having an application surface, the capsule comprising a wall that is at least partially elastically deformable between a first configuration in which the capsule defines a first concave surface, concavity turned towards the application surface, the cosmetic element being at least partially housed in a first interior space delimited by this first concave surface, and a second configuration , wherein the capsule defines a second concave surface concavity facing away from the application surface, the cosmetic element being deployed out of a second interior space delimited by the second concave surface.

The change of capsule configuration gives the device a new aesthetic and playfulness. The gesture of use is original.

MAIN DEFINITIONS

PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Preferably, the device according to the invention has one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination: The at least partially elastically deformable wall comprises a side wall. The device 1 for packaging and application partially shown in Figures 1 to 9 comprises a lid 5 and a container 4 X axis, open at its upper end and may contain a cosmetic product such as a makeup or care product.

The lid 5 comprises a holding capsule 3 having the shape of a chimney open at its two opposite axial ends 35 and 36 and having a side wall 31, which can take a first configuration shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 and a second configuration shown in FIGS. Figures 5-7.

The wall 31 has, in the state of rest shown in FIG. 8, a generally tubular shape of axis X, extended at its upper part possibly by an internal annular flange 37 serving to fix an applicator element 2 and at its lower part by an outer annular projection 38 possibly provided with a thread 39 for mounting a insert 6 polypropylene for example. A cap 7, ABS, for example, can be slammed on the insert 6 to improve the aesthetics of the lid.

The wall 31 may be made of an elastomer such as for example a silicone elastomer, butyl rubber, latex or a thermoplastic elastomer of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, polystyrene, PVC or EVA, TPE, this list being of course not limiting. The elasticity of the wall 31 is chosen so that it does not prevent the wall 31 from changing configuration. The application element 2 comprises a first end 21 engaged in the opening 35 of the chimney.

The side wall 31 and the rim 37 of the capsule 3 define: a concave surface 100 turned towards the application surface 23 in FIGS. 1 to 4, and a concave surface 200 turned away from the surface 23 to FIGS. 5 to 7. The application element 2 has a second end 22 defining an application surface 23 which can be flat as shown in FIGS. 1 to 9. The application element 2 can be assembled to the capsule 3 for example by force mounting, especially by breakdown, screwing, latching, gluing or overmolding. In the example shown, the assembly is made by breakdown. The applicator element 2 and the capsule 3 could also be formed in one piece.

The materials used to form the application element 2 can be chosen from polyethylenes, polypropylenes, polyurethanes, polyvinyl chlorides, polystyrenes, polyethylene, polyurethane and polyester elastomers, polyether block amides; polyvinyls; terpolymers of ethylene, propylene and a diene (EPDM); sequenced styrene-butadiene polymers (SEBS-SIS); silicone elastomers, or a mixture of such materials with plant fibers such as cotton or cellulose fibers, this list being of course not limiting.

In the first configuration (Figures 1 to 4), the surface 100 has the shape of a concave bowl inward, substantially hemicylindrical. The bottom thereof is partially formed by a portion of the end 21 of the applicator element 2 which connects to the rim 37 of the capsule. The application element 2 is entirely housed in the interior space 101 defined by the concave surface 100. It is then in the storage position before or after use, partly protected and protected from dust or impurities.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in the first configuration, the cosmetic element is spaced from the wall 31 by a minimum distance measured perpendicularly to the axis X, leaving the application element 2 a total freedom of movement relative to the wall 31. Advantageously, this minimum distance Ae is for example between 1 mm and 2 cm, and preferably between 2 mm and 0.7 mm, depending on the diameter of the container and the cosmetic element .

Advantageously, in the first configuration, the height of the wall 31, measured along the axis X, is between 0.5 cm and 4 cm, and preferably between 1 cm and 2 cm and the average thickness of the wall 31. is between 0.08 cm and 0.4 cm, and preferably between 0.1 cm and 0.2 cm.

In the second configuration (FIGS. 5 to 7), the application element 2 is deployed in the extension of the axis X, in the direction opposite to the concave surface 200. This second configuration can be obtained for example by pressing with the index finger on the end 21 of the lid 5, while holding the lid by the cap 7 with the thumb and middle finger. The device according to the invention shown in Figures 9 to 11 is identical to that shown in Figures 1 to 8 except that: - the application surface 23 defines a tip at the end 22, - the container 4 is equipped with a separating element 8 situated between the application element 2 and the product contained in the container 4.

The shape of the application surface 23 is chosen in particular according to the profile of the surface on which the product must be applied and the texture of the product. The separating element 8 comprises a central orifice 81 for passing the tip. It may be selected from a sieve, a net, a perforated wall, a foam, a sinter, a felt, a nonwoven, a woven, a perforated film, which may be covered with a flocking, if appropriate. It may have the effect of reducing the risk of the cosmetic product flying off when the lid 5 is opened and increasing the hygiene of the device 1. The separating element 8 may be fixed to the container, for example by snapping. It can also be removable. It can form a piston. The invention is not limited to a particular embodiment of the wall 31, the latter being inclined at least a portion of its height. Preferably, the wall 31 is made entirely of an elastically deformable material but it is not beyond the scope of the present invention when the wall 100 is made only partially in an elastically deformable material. The material in which the wall 31 is made is not necessarily an elastomer.

FIG. 12 represents a device 1 comprising a capsule 3 and an application element 2. The capsule 3 is made in one piece of elastomer for example. It consists of a Z-axis base 301 with a cylindrical section, to which is connected a side wall 302 offset from the base 301 and closed at its upper end by a transverse wall 305.

A Y-axis application element 2 is fixed on the internal face of the transverse wall 305. It is formed for example by a filiform curved cylinder comprising a rectilinear portion 200 and a curved portion 201. The Y axis is located at a non-zero distance from the Z axis over the entire height of the application element 2, the distance between the Y axis and the Z axis being maximum at the free end 202 of the curved portion 201.

To use the device 1 of Figure 12, one can grasp the capsule 3 by placing the thumb and middle finger on the side wall 302 and the index on the outer face of the transverse wall 305. We can go from the first configuration to the second configuration by exerting pressure on the wall 305 with the index and then move from the second configuration to the first, for example by exerting pressure directly at the end 201 of the applicator element.

FIG. 13 represents a device 1 according to the invention provided with a capsule 3 of axis X formed for example in one piece of elastomer and defining: a first compartment 306 of cylindrical section open at one end and housing a first element applicator 206 serving for example to the makeup of the cheeks, - a second compartment 307 of cylindrical section open at one end and housing a second applicator element 207 serving for example to make up the lips.

The capsule 3 may comprise a transverse wall 309 located for example at mid-height of a cylindrical wall 302 and forming the bottom of the compartments 306 and 307.

To use the device 1 of Figure 13, one can grasp the capsule 3 by placing the thumb and middle finger on the wall 302 and exerting pressure with the index finger: - on the application surface 210 of the element d application 207, if it is desired to use application element 206, or - on application surface 211 of application element 206, if it is desired to use application element 207.

In the open position of the device, the application element 2 may either be protected in the interior space 101 as shown in FIG. 23 or 24, or may be deployed outside the capsule 3 as shown in FIG.
