Abstract

Cosmetic article for application to a body surface, use and method thereof

The present invention relates to a cosmetic article for the face or body, comprising an occlusive support intended to be applied on a body surface, said support being impervious to air and liquids.

Such a support is particularly intended for the application of a cosmetic product on the body surface.

A "cosmetic product" is advantageously a product as defined in Council Directive 93/35 EEC, dated June 30, 1993. The cosmetic product is, for example, a cosmetic composition formed of a homogeneous or heterogeneous liquid, for example a oil, a direct or inverse emulsion, a solution, a gel, an anhydrous oil, a lotion. This cosmetic product can also be a mixture of anhydrous products such as waxes or butters.

Such skin-friendly products are widely used for cosmetic or pharmaceutical purposes. The effectiveness of such products is related to their ability to absorb through the skin. Percutaneous absorption is a complex phenomenon, due to the relative impermeability of the skin. The barrier of permeability is particularly located in the stratum corneum of the epidermis. In known manner, the hydration of the stratum corneum reduces its barrier function, allowing the absorption of a wide range of molecules.

It is known to use cosmetic articles applicable to the skin to improve the penetration of cosmetics.

In particular, the documents WO2012 / 080356 and WO2012 / 146546 describe the use of masks comprising an absorbent layer, impregnated with a cosmetic composition, for applying to the skin of said composition.

Such absorbent layers have the disadvantage of retaining a part of the composition. Moreover, the use of porous materials does not prevent the evaporation of water, decreasing the hydration of the skin.

US2008051860 discloses a multilayer mask comprising a non-absorbent inner layer, impermeable to air and heat reflective, and a thermally insulating outer layer. Air impermeability produces an occlusion effect to improve skin hydration. The thermo-reflective properties allow the increase of the cutaneous temperature. The combination of these two effects decreases the effectiveness of the barrier function of the skin, facilitating the penetration of cosmetics.

This mask has a non-dimensional structure. He does not closely marry the contours of the nose and cheeks. It has cutouts to fit the reliefs of the face.

In addition, such a multilayer mask has a certain thickness and rigidity, which prevents it from perfectly marrying the skin of the face for an optimal occlusion effect. There is therefore a need for a cosmetic article capable of being applied to the skin, with optimal occlusion properties while being easy and less expensive to manufacture in series, said article being, if possible, stretchable in all directions. For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a cosmetic article of the aforementioned type, in which the occlusive support consists of a single layer of flexible material, the said occlusive support being able to be conformed in three dimensions in order to conform to a surface. with reliefs.

Figure 1 shows a schematic view, in profile, of a cosmetic article according to one embodiment of the invention. The cosmetic article 10 illustrated in FIG. 1 is intended for applying a cosmetic product to a body surface of a user, advantageously on a keratin surface such as the skin or the hair. The cosmetic product is in particular a care product for said body surface. The cosmetic article 10 of FIG. 1 is more particularly a facial mask, for the application of a cosmetic product to the face 12 of a user. Alternatively, a cosmetic article according to the invention is able to marry other parts of the body; the cosmetic article is for example chosen from a patch, a pad, a belt, a sleeve and a fingerstall, a glove, a sock or a cap.

The mask 10 comprises an occlusive support 14 intended to be applied to the face 12. The occlusive support 14 consists of a single layer of flexible material 16, preferably of film type.

The mask 10 further comprises mechanical elements 18 for fixing to the face of the user. In the example of Figure 1, the mechanical elements 18 are formed by openings in the material 16 to receive the ears of the user. Alternatively, the mechanical elements 18 comprise cords or elastics passing behind the head.

The occlusive support 14 has an inner face 20 intended to be applied on the body surface of the user, an opposite outer face 22, and at least one through opening 24, 25, 26 connecting the faces 20, 22. For example, the support 14 delimits two through-openings 24, of closed contour, intended to be placed facing the eyes of the user, a through opening of closed contour 25 intended to be placed opposite the mouth of the user, and a cutout 26 to receive the nose or nostrils of the user.

Preferably, with the exception of the through openings 24, 25, 26, the occlusive support 14 has a substantially constant thickness on its surface. Said thickness is preferably less than 1.5 mm, more preferably less than 1 mm, even more preferably less than 0.7 mm.

The occlusive support 14 is able to be conformed in three dimensions in order to fit a surface comprising reliefs, said reliefs extending in two different directions, for example substantially perpendicular to one another. Said reliefs are in particular convex in two dimensions.

The occlusive support 14 may in particular be shaped so as to substantially marry all the reliefs of a human face, such as the front 30, the cheekbones 32, the jaws 34, the chin 36 and the nose. According to a first embodiment, the occlusive support 14 also comprises an area able to fit a part of the neck 38. According to a second embodiment, the occlusive support 14 does not cover the neck.

The flexible material 16 constituting the support 14 is impermeable to air, gases such as CO 2 and liquids. Preferably, the material 16 is in the form of a stretchable film. The mask 10 can thus be applied tightly against the face 12 by means of the fastening elements 18, as in FIG. 1. The inner face 20 is thus applied against the skin of the face in an airtight manner, to other gases and liquids. The occlusive properties of the mask 10 are improved; in particular, the evaporation of the water present between the skin and the inner face 20 is prevented, for a better hydration of the skin. The mask thus applied also allows the application of cosmetic products for long periods of time such as at night without leakage of the cosmetic product.

Preferably, the material 16 is a thermoplastic material, preferably chosen from polyurethanes, polyethylenes, polypropylenes, polypropylene terephthalates and silicones. More preferably, the material 16 is chosen from silicones. The interest of silicones is that they conform well to the reliefs and that they can let the light pass.

Preferably, the material 16 is transparent to at least a portion of the visible light. It is thus possible to associate the use of the mask 10 with exposure to light, in particular to increase the temperature between the skin and the inner face 20 to facilitate the penetration of a cosmetic product.

Preferably, the material 16 is non-absorbent to cosmetics, in order to restore all of a cosmetic composition applied to the mask before attachment to the face 12.

Preferably, the occlusive support 14 is reversible. More specifically, each of the faces 20, 22 of the support 14 is able to come into contact with the skin of a user. Such a property allows repeated uses and a longer duration of use of the mask 10.

The mask 10 is for example made according to a method comprising a hot forming step of the material 16 consisting of a thermoplastic film. The material 16 is for example placed in a mold of suitable shape and subjected to a heat treatment between 80 ° and 200 ° C.

Preferably, the mask 10 is marketed in the form of a kit or assembly for a cosmetic use, such a kit comprising, on the one hand, the mask 10 and, on the other hand, a cosmetic composition that can be applied to the skin of the skin. an user. The composition is for example in the form of gel or cream. The mask 10 and the composition are preferably presented in dissociated form, the composition being for example contained in a container. Optionally, the face of the user covered with the mask 10 is then exposed to a light source such as LEDs, in particular to increase the temperature under the mask 10 and thus promote the penetration of the cosmetic composition.

Optionally, if the user finds a lack of product on certain areas under the mask, he can inject a syringe through the flexible material.

According to an alternative to the above method of use, the cosmetic composition is applied to the inner face 20 of the occlusive support 14 of the mask 10, and then said mask is applied to the face 12 in the manner described above.

A particular example of mask 10 will now be described. According to said example, the occlusive support 14 of said mask 10 is formed of a monolayer film 16 of silicone, with a thickness of 0.58 mm. At 400 nm, the light transmission through the occlusive support 14 is 0.82. The monolayer film 16 is stretchable, the shape and dimensions of the mask 10 being configured to apply different pressures to the different parts of the face 12. The monolayer film 16 thus has an excellent shape memory allowing repeated uses.
