Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a coupling accessory for wire mesh cable trays, in particular with curved sections, and a method for assembling wire mesh cable tray sections utilizing said accessory. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The wire mesh cable trays that are commonly used in electrical installations consist of several longitudinal and transverse metal wires coupled to each other, the transverse metal wires having the shape of a U and, preferably, being separated from each other by the same distance, so as to form a base surface and two side surfaces.
There are several types of coupling devices for wire mesh cable trays on the market, which may consist of one or more parts. The document ES1194825 "Adjustable pressure plates for strung cables comprising stranded or trellis wires, assembly of such plates in strung cables" describes a plate comprising means that allow its adjustment by a snap-fitting on strands of cable stretched in two substantially perpendicular directions. . This plate may have a substantially rectangular shape, two of its longitudinal edges that allow the latching of the plate on two strands being separated by a given distance, and two transverse edges that allow the latching of the plate on two strands being separated by a second distance less than or equal to the first distance.
The document ES2307447 "Quick Attaching Device for Wire Mesh Trays" describes a device for fixing wire mesh cable trays to a structural support element which consists of a body generally configured in a U, the branches of which comprise fasteners adapted to act on lower longitudinal threads located on the sides of the path, said fastening means consisting of pleats projecting from the sides of an upper body portion, creating upper support areas of said longitudinal threads. Said side branches comprise, in correspondence of the folds and of a higher level, marked tabs opening towards the support areas, to enslave the longitudinal son which are housed between said support areas and the tabs. The document ES2322787 describes a device which comprises a main body of substantially square or rectangular shape, two curved wings turned toward each other which make protruding from the main body, each comprising a coupling knot with the main body and a free section, and elongate tabs in opposite directions, which protrude from the ends of the main body. The tabs have a normal position, in which they prevent a transverse wire of the path located within the section of the curved wings from disengaging the section in a natural manner, and a forced position which allows the insertion of a transverse wire. in the section of the curved wings. In this way, in the normal position, said tabs are inclined so as to remain in the section of the curved wings. Although the devices of said documents consist of at least one piece which allows a relatively safe coupling of adjacent sections of wire mesh cable trays without the use of any tool, it nevertheless remains necessary to have an accessory easy to assemble, which provides additional security to prevent disconnection of sections when forces or weight are applied to said raceways. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to provide a coupling accessory for wire mesh cable trays which improves the safety of coupling between cable tray sections. The invention described is a coupling accessory for wire mesh cable trays of the type consisting of longitudinal wires and transverse wires, which consists of a body having a base having a generally quadrilateral shape at right angles, which comprises a channel side portion having the shape of a semicircle which accommodates a transverse wire of the path in its interior and which ends in two lateral edges, in which accessory: - an upper perpendicular extension extends from a lateral edge of said channel side portion, and a lower perpendicular extension extends from the other side edge of said channel side portion, said extensions being separated by an intermediate hollow space which allows the insertion of transverse threads of the path. the upper and lower extensions comprise a cross-section which terminates at a semi-cylindrical edge, which makes it possible to house a transverse path thread in its interior, the semi-cylindrical edges being aligned vertically, one of the The extensions include an inwardly folded tab adjacent to the channeled side portion, while the other extension includes an inwardly folded tab adjacent to its corresponding semi-cylindrical edge. The present invention also relates to a method of assembling sections of wire mesh cable trays which is based at least on a coupling accessory of the present invention, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - positioning side to side of two sections of cable trays and at least one of the vertical sections 10 of the transverse wire edges, - horizontal coupling of the accessory by insertion of the vertical sections of the transverse son of the sections to be coupled in the hollow space intermediate of the accessory, 15 - rotation of the accessory from its horizontal position so as to place it in a vertical position between two longitudinal threads of each path and the channel side part and the semi-cylindrical edges being parallel to the vertical sections transverse threads, - separation of the two sections of cable trays so that the vertical section of the transverse wire the edge of a path is inserted into the hollow interior space of the channeled side portion, and the vertical section of the transverse wire of the edge of the other path is inserted into the hollow interior spaces of the semi-cylindrical edges, leaving at the same time each leg in contact with the vertical section of the corresponding transverse wire by the face opposite to the face with which the section is in contact with the channel side portion or with the semi-cylindrical edges, respectively. By means of this configuration with upper and lower extensions, an intermediate hollow space and tabs, an accessory is obtained which makes it possible to improve the safety of the coupling between the cable tray sections, thereby avoiding uncoupling. accidental of these. In addition, the assembly method is simplified because the configuration of the part with the intermediate hollow space allows the horizontal coupling of the accessory by inserting the vertical sections of the transverse son of the section to be coupled in the intermediate hollow space of the accessory. Another advantage of the present invention is its versatility, since it serves to couple both curved sections and straight sections. Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the anchoring tabs are relatively short, so that they do not easily deform upon application of force to the system and the attachment can be made of materials such as plastic. Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in light of the following detailed description of an embodiment, given by way of example, of the object of the present invention, with respect to the appended figures. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION FIGS. 1 to 5 illustrate several views of a wire mesh tray coupling accessory 1 of the present invention. The cable trays assembly. The figure of coupling of the figure the accessory of the cable tray assembly. FIG. 20 of FIG. 9.15 wire mesh cable ducts 10 (which are illustrated in FIGS. 5 to 11B) consist of a plurality of longitudinal metal wires 11 and intermeshed transverse wires 12, the transverse wires 11 having a U-shaped shape. (With vertical sections 13) and being separated from each other, preferably being equidistant, so as to form a base surface and two side surfaces. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, in particular in the perspective view (FIG. 1), said accessory 1 consists of a body having a base having a general shape of quadrilateral at right angles (in the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. it would be a rectangular base), which has a lateral part in channel 2 in the form of a semicircle which accommodates a transverse wire 12 of a wire mesh cable tray 10 and which ends in two side edges 3 An upper perpendicular extension 4 extends from a lateral edge 3 of said channel side portion 2, and a lower perpendicular extension 5 extends from the other side edge 3 of said channel side portion 2, said extensions 4, 5 being separated by an intermediate hollow space 8 which allows the insertion of the transverse son 12 of the path 10. The upper extension 4 and the lower extension 25 illustrate a cross section 6 which terminates at a semi-cylindrical edge 7, which accommodates a transverse wire 12 of path 10 in its interior, the semi-cylindrical edges 7 being aligned vertically. One of the extensions includes an inwardly folded tab 9 adjacent to the channel side portion 2, while the other extension includes an inwardly folded tab 9 'adjacent to its semi-cylindrical edge 7 corresponding. Preferably, the extensions 4, 5 which separate the side edges 3 of the channel side portion 2 are in the general form of a rectangular plate interrupted by the corresponding legs 9, 9 '. The side edges 3 of the channel side portion 2 may be straight and coincide with the edges from which said channel side portion 2 extends, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. Similarly, as shown in FIG. embodiment of the figures, the semi-cylindrical edges 7 may have the same height.
In this way they do not deform easily when applying a force to the whole. This allows, in addition, to manufacture the accessory 1 from materials such as plastic. The method of coupling the wire mesh cable tray sections 10, which is based at least on the coupling accessory 1 of the present invention, comprises the following steps: - step 1 (FIGS. 5 and 6): positioning side by side of two sections of cable trays 10 and at least one of the vertical sections 13 of their transverse wire edges, - step 2 (FIGS. 7 and 8A-8B): horizontal coupling of the accessory 1 by insertion of the vertical sections 13 of the transverse son of the sections to be coupled in the intermediate hollow space 8 of the accessory 1, - step 3 (FIGS. 9A-9B and 10A-10B): rotation of the accessory 1 from its horizontal position of so as to place it in a vertical position between two longitudinal threads 11 of each path 10 and the channel side portion 2 and the semi-cylindrical edges 7 being parallel to the vertical sections 13 of the transverse threads, - step 4 (FIGS. 11A and 11B) : separation of the two sections of cable trays 10 so that the vertical section 13 of the transverse wire of the edge of a path 10 is inserted into the hollow interior space of the channel side portion 2, and the vertical section 13 of the transverse wire the edge of the other path 10 is inserted into the hollow interior spaces of the semi-cylindrical edges 7, leaving at the same time each leg 9, 9 'in contact with the vertical section 13 of the corresponding transverse wire by the face opposite to the face with which the section is in contact with the channel side portion 2 or with the semi-cylindrical edges 7, respectively. Although some embodiments of the present invention have been described and illustrated, it is clear that various modifications may be made within the scope of said modes and that the present invention is not intended to be limited to said embodiments but rather to only content of the appended claims.
