Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a feeder type device, for the distribution of food to livestock, especially cattle or sheep. The feeders allow the distribution of food (particularly in the form of granules or powder) to animals in meadow, sheepfold or barn.
Generally, these feeders comprise a trough surmounted by a feed hopper consisting of a hopper provided with an upper loading opening covered by a mobile wall forming roof (pivotally mounted or sliding). The hopper is generally formed by a belt of metal sheet walls which comprises two front walls, one front and the other rear, connected on the sides by two side walls; the lower edge of the front wall defines, with the trough facing, a longitudinal opening partially closed by an adjustable flap to allow to adjust the feed rate of the food. Current feeders have the disadvantage of having a fixed food reserve capacity that can sometimes be oversized or undersized, compared to livestock to feed. If he wishes to modify this capacity, the farmer must therefore invest a new complete feeder. The present invention aims to overcome this disadvantage, by proposing an improvement to the current structures of feeders, which has the advantage of allowing the breeder to adapt in a simple and rapid way, and at any time, the capacity of food reserve of its feeder, in particular according to the size of its livestock. For this purpose, the food reserve of the feeder according to the invention comprises, in the upper part, at least one removable element composed of a belt of walls which extends in the extension of the belt of walls of the hopper and which is interposed between the upper edge of said hopper and the roof, which removable element forms a raising said hopper, to increase the volume capacity of said reserve. In this way, from a basic capacity (hopper only) the breeder can increase the volume of the food reserve, adding one or more extensions. The one or more extensions are put in place on the hopper, after removal of the roof, this roof being finally mounted on the upper riser.
According to a preferred embodiment, the wall belt of the riser is delimited by two edges, one lower and the other upper, said lower edge of enhancement and the upper edge of the underlying hopper comprising complementary structural means nesting. Preferably, the upper edge of the hopper is in the form of an L-shaped frame consisting of a horizontal wing, oriented on the inner side of the hopper, extended upwards by a wing to the square, and the lower edge of the riser is in the form of a complementary L-section frame, also consisting of a horizontal flange, oriented on the inside of the riser, extended upwards by a square wing, thus forming complementary structural means of interlocking. At least some of said facing wings (horizontal flanges or vertical flanges) of said hopper and said riser may comprise orifices which allow their joining by bolting. According to a particular embodiment, the hopper feeder carries at least two extensions, superimposed one above the other, the upper edge of said extensions also comprising structural interlocking means complementary to those of their lower edge. In this context, the upper edge of the risers is advantageously in the form of an L-shaped frame, consisting of a horizontal flange, oriented on the inside of the riser, extended upwards by a wing to the square, suitable for fitting with the lower edge of the directly overlying socket. The or the risers and the feed hopper also comprise structural means for mounting the mobile roof. In a particular embodiment, this roof has two lateral flanges for pivoting mounting on the hopper or on a riser, by means of a bolting system also forming the pivot axis. Still according to a particular embodiment, the wall belts of the hopper and or the risers (s) each comprise two end walls, one front and one rear, connected on the sides by two side walls, which or which raises (s) have front and side walls which are parallel in pairs and which extend at right angles to each other. According to a particular embodiment, the hopper of the feeder comprises - a rear wall, - an oblique front wall, approaching said rear wall from top to bottom, whose free bottom edge delimits with the trough opposite an opening longitudinally partially closable by an adjustable flap, and - two parallel side walls; in addition, the feeder further comprises a base for resting on the ground, and also means for its coupling to a three-point lifting device of a towing vehicle. The invention also relates to the booster for animal feeder as described above, which enhances comprises a wall belt delimited by two borders, the lower one and the other upper, which bottom edge enhancement is able to cooperate by interlocking with the upper edge of the feed hopper, and where appropriate with the upper edge of an identical directly underlying undercarriage, and which enhances further comprises means for mounting the protective roof. The feeder according to the invention is further illustrated, without being limited in any way, by the following description of a possible embodiment, in relation to the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 is a general view of a compliant feeder; the invention, shown in a perspective oriented on the side of its feeding trough, and wherein its food reserve consists of a lower hopper and an upper extension on which is mounted a pivoting roof; FIG. 2 is an exploded view of FIG. 1 showing the feeder with its dissociated raising of the hopper and the disassociated roof of the riser; - Figure 3 is a schematic view and in a vertical sectional plane of the feeder of Figure 1, without the roof; - Figure 4 is a detail view of Figure 3, showing the complementary means 15 interlocking between the upper edge of the hopper and the lower edge of a riser. The feeder 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 consists of a generally parallelepipedal volume 2 mounted on a base 3 and provided with an upper opening 2 'closed off by a removable roof 4. The volume 2, consisting of an assembly of metal sheets, comprises a trough 5 in which the animals can come to feed, surmounted by a food reserve 6. This food reserve 6 here comprises a hopper 7 surmounted by a removable enhancement 8. Generally speaking the feeder 1 has a horizontal bottom 9 which extends - on the sides, by vertical side walls 10 and 11 of generally square or rectangular shape - on the rear by a vertical wall 12, and - on the front by a vertical flange 13. In the sectional view of FIG. 3, it can be seen that the lower part of the rear wall 12 has an extension 14, inclined inwards, which extends up to the bottom wall. 9. On the other hand, the front wall 15 comprises a vertical front upper portion 15 ', which extends downwards, in the direction of the base of the rear inclined wall 14 and the median zone of the bottom wall 9, by a portion 15 "s' extending inside the volume 2. The lower vertical portion of this inner portion 15 "is spaced from the bottom wall 9 to maintain a longitudinal opening 16. At the lower portion of this inner portion 15", a flap 17, vertically adjustable, allows to adjust at will the height of the opening 16. The corresponding setting of the flap 17 is made by conventional bolting within oblong slots provided in the wall 15 or in the movable flap 17. Thus, the hopper 7 of the feeder is delimited - on the back, by the walls 12 and 14, - on the sides by the walls 10 and 11, - in the lower part by the bottom 9, and - on the front by the wall 15 equipped with the flap 17. On the other hand, the trough 5 is on its delimited side, - on the rear by the wall 15 equipped with the adjustable flap 17, - on the sides by the lower front parts of the side walls 10 and 11, - in the lower part by the bottom 9 and - On the front by the flange 13. The adjustable opening 16 is a passage or a communication allowing the food stored in the hopper 7 to pass into the trough 5 by gravity, in combination with the extraction by the muzzle and the tongue of the animals. The upper edge 7 'of the hopper 7 is in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped frame which, as mentioned above, is extended upwardly by the removable extension 8. This extension 8 is formed of a belt of vertical walls comprising a rear wall 18, two side walls 19, 20 and a front wall 21 which together define a lower edge 22 and an upper edge 23 both of generally rectangular shape. The lower edge 22 of the extension 8 and the upper edge 7 'of the hopper 7 20 comprise complementary structural means of interlocking. For this, as detailed in Figure 4, the upper edge 7 'of the hopper 7 is in the form of an L-shaped frame comprising a horizontal flange 24 which extends inward from the belt 10, 11, 12, 15 ', extended upwards by a wing to square 25. The corresponding angle 24-25 is obtained by folding 25 of the upper edges of the walls 10, 11, 12 and 15 constituting the hopper 7. On its side, the lower edge 22 of the extension 8 is in the form of an L-shaped frame, complementary to the frame 7 'of said hopper, comprising a horizontal wing 26 which extends inwardly from the belt of walls 18, 19, 20, 21, extended upwards by a wing to square 27. The corresponding angle 26-27 is obtained by folding the lower edges of the walls 18, 19, 20 and 21 constituting the extension 8. The structure and the dimensions of the angles 24-25, on the one hand, and 26 -27, on the other hand, are adapted to ensure correct maintenance of the extension 8 when it is positioned on the hopper 7, and so that the belt of walls 18, 19, 20 and 21 35 constituting said extension 8, is located in the extension of the walls 10, 11, 12, 15 'of the hopper 7.
The perimeters of the lower edge 22 of the extension 8 and the upper edge 7 'of the hopper 7 are identical. The height of the walls 18, 19, 20 and 21 of the extension 8 is adapted according to the additional reserve capacity that it is desired to obtain.
As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, the upper edge 23 of the extension 8 is also in the form of an L-shaped frame consisting of a horizontal flange 28 facing inwards and extended upwards by a wing to the square 29, to obtain a structure complementary to that of the lower edge of raising 22 (that is to say, identical or similar to the structure of the upper edge 7 'of the hopper 7), able to receive by interlocking the lower edge 22 of another riser 8 directly overlying. The corresponding angle 28-29 is obtained by folding the upper edges of the walls 18, 19, 20 and 21 constituting the extension 8. It is understood that one can then superimpose a plurality of identical or similar extensions 8, to adapt at will ( depending on the height of enhancement) the volume capacity of the food reserve 6 of the feeder. To secure the mounting, the brackets 24-25 of the hopper 7 and those 26-27 and 28-29 of the lower edges 22 and 23 of the upper extension 8, may have corresponding holes to allow a fastening by bolting, or any other way.
The roof 4 is mounted at the upper part of the reserve 6 to remotely seal off its upper opening 2 'and protect the stored products against the weather. This roof 4 can be of the sliding, pivoting or other type, and the hopper 7, and the or the risers 8, are adapted to allow its assembly, so that the farmer can structure his feeder at will, with or without raising ( s). The feeder illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4 comprises a roof 4 of pivoting type, consisting of a plate 30 whose side edges are equipped with two lateral flanges 31. These flanges 31 each comprise an orifice 32 and they cooperate, either with orifices 34 formed in the side walls 10, 11 of the hopper 7, or with orifices 35 formed in the side walls of the riser 8, to obtain the desired pivoting assembly, by means of a suitable bolting system 36. Figures 1 and 2, we note that the base 3 is made by means of tubular elements 37 in the general shape of omega, fixed against the outer faces of the side walls 10 and 11. The corresponding base 3 is preferably provided adjustable in height.
On the other hand, in Figure 1, we see that the rear wall 12 of the hopper 7 is equipped with a three-point hitch system 38 to allow the attachment of the feeder 1 on the three-point lifting device of a towing vehicle, for the purpose of moving it.
The feeder according to the invention thus offers the breeder the possibility of adapting his capacity, in particular according to the size of his flock. It is an evolutionary system that allows the farmer to permanently have equipment perfectly adapted in capacity, this by limiting investments.
