Motor vehicle whose access is provided by an opening extending at one of the vehicle faces and the roof.
The present invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a shelter defined in particular by a roof, a floor, a left side face and a right side face. Access to this vehicle is provided by a continuous opening extending at one of the vehicle faces and the roof. Such a vehicle is known from the state of the art, in particular from EP 1 403111, this type of vehicle has the advantage of having a wide opening allowing easy access to the vehicle and thus avoiding passengers to contort during their mounted in the vehicle. Such a vehicle is generally provided with a sliding side door uni-that intended to close the opening. Such a door must have a first part adapted to cooperate with a side face of the vehicle and a second part adapted to cooperate with the roof. Such a door has many disadvantages, it is cumbersome; in addition, as it extends in different planes, to ensure a good docking on the body and a good seal, its development is difficult. The invention aims to provide a vehicle of simple design, providing easier access to passengers and to avoid the aforementioned problems. For this purpose, the invention relates to a motor vehicle of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the opening is closed by a first opening disposed at one of the faces of the vehicle and by a second separate opening disposed at the level of roof, said opening being movable each between an open position providing access to the passenger compartment and a closed position, and in that the second opening is movable by sliding in a plane perpendicular to the vertical direction of the vehicle. According to particular embodiments of the invention, the vehicle comprises one or more of the following characteristics, taken separately or in any technically possible combination: the second opening can be movable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle; - The first opening can be slidably movable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle; the opening may extend at the lateral side of the vehicle between a front structure foot and a middle foot; - The continuous opening may also extend to the floor of the vehicle and be closed by a third separate opening disposed at the floor, said opening being movable between an open position providing access to the vehicle and a position of closing ; the third opening can be movable in the vertical direction of the vehicle; the displacement of the third opening can be independent of the displacement of the first and second openings; the opening / closing command of the different openings can be carried out by means of a centralized command; the motor vehicle may be of the utilitarian type; - The opening may be provided at the driver's seat of the vehicle. The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of a motor vehicle of which the doors are in the closed position; - Figure 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of Figure 1; - Figure 3 is a side view of the motor vehicle whose opening are in the open position; - Figure 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of Figure 3; and - Figure 5 is a top view of a roof of the vehicle having an opening in the open position.
In order to simplify the description which follows, the figures have been oriented according to the X, Y, Z axis system defining the usual orientation of a motor vehicle, and in which: the X axis is the longitudinal axis the vehicle, facing backwards and forwards; - the Y axis is the transverse axis oriented from right to left; and - the Z axis is the vertical axis oriented from bottom to top. The terms of position and orientation that are used subsequently agree with respect to this axis system.
Figures 1 to 4 show a motor vehicle 1, utility type. In a conventional manner, the passenger compartment of the vehicle is delimited in particular by a roof 2, a left-hand side face 4 and a right-hand side face 5, belonging to the body of the vehicle, and a floor 3. The vehicle 1 comprises an opening of access 6, allowing access of the vehicle to the driver. This opening extends at the level of the left lateral face 4 between a front structure foot 7 and a central pillar, not shown. According to the invention, this opening 6 also extends in its upper part at the roof 2 of the vehicle and in its lower part at the floor 3 of the vehicle.
Thus, the upper part of the opening is constituted by an opening 6a made at the roof 2 of the vehicle and the lower part is constituted by an opening 6b made at the floor 3 of the vehicle. The opening described above is continuous and is therefore not obstructed by any part of the vehicle.
The opening 6 is closed by different openings, operable between an open position allowing access to the vehicle and a closed position: a side door 8, disposed at the left side face 4 of the vehicle and extending in the closed position between the front structure foot 7 and the middle foot; - An upper door 9, intended to close the opening 6a, disposed at the roof 2 of the vehicle, as shown in Figure 5; and - a lower door 10, intended to close the opening 6b, disposed at the floor 3 of the vehicle. The side door 8 is a sliding door extending in a plane perpendicular to the transverse axis Y of the vehicle. The door 8 is mounted movably along the longitudinal axis X of the vehicle between an open position, which releases a portion of the opening 6, and a closed position. The door 8 is moved on the outer part of the left lateral face 4.
The upper door 9 is a sliding door extending in a plane perpendicular to the vertical axis Z of the vehicle. The door 9 is mounted movably along the longitudinal axis X of the vehicle between an open position, which releases the opening 6a, and a closed position. The door 9 is moved on the outer part of the roof 2 of the vehicle. The lower door 10 is a sliding door extending in a plane perpendicular to the vertical axis Z of the vehicle. The door 10 is mounted movably along the vertical axis Z between an open position, which releases the opening 6b, and a closed position. The door 10 may in particular be operated until it bears on the ground, the latter position being determined using sensors, not shown. The means of movement of the different doors are of conventional type and will not be detailed during this description. Thus, it may be sliding means, slide type, arranged on the body or the floor of the vehicle in which slides a movable section integral with the door to move. With regard to the side door 8 and the upper door 9, their moving means can also be associated with so-called lifting mechanisms for moving the door of the supporting body part, respectively the left side face 4 or roof 2. Thus, when the side door 8 is moved from its closed position to its open position, it is first removed from the left side face 4 towards the outside of the vehicle, then slid to the back; then, when the door is moved from its open position to its closed position, it is first slid forward and then moved closer to the left side face 4. Likewise, when the upper door 9 is moved from its closed position to its open position, it is first offset from the roof 2, then slid backwards; then, when the door is moved from its open position to its closed position, it is first slid forward and then lowered to the roof 2. Thus, when the driver controls the opening of the door 8, the upper door 9 and the lower door 10, a wide opening is released allowing easy access to the seat 11. The rise of the driver in the vehicle 1 can then include the following steps: - the driver crosses the opening 6, for this purpose he climbs on the lower door 10 which acts as a step; because of the arrangement previously described, the driver can stand inside the vehicle; the driver sits on the seat 11; then - The driver controls the closing of the different doors. Thus, the vehicle of the invention allows improved access to the vehicle, avoiding any contortion of the driver during his installation. The movement of the different doors between their open and closed positions is preferably provided by means of electrical means. Of course, the opening / closing command of the different doors can be performed using a centralized command.
According to a first variant, the lower door 10 can be operated optionally. According to a second variant, the vehicle may have no lower door 10. In the latter two cases, when the driver crosses the opening 6, he goes directly on the floor 3 of the vehicle and once the opening 6 passes, he can also stand upright before moving into the vehicle. According to another variant, the door 9 can be mounted movably along the transverse axis Y.
The arrangement of the different doors described above can also be adapted to other types of vehicles, other than commercial vehicles. The arrangement of the different doors can also be adapted for the installation of any passenger, other than the driver, in particular, in the rear of a vehicle or in the place of the front passenger.
The vehicle of the invention is also of interest for vehicles intended to carry persons with reduced mobility.
