MONTANT DE BAIE POUR UNE CAISSE DE VÉHICULE ET PROCÉDÉ DE FABRICATION D'UN TEL MONTANT DE BAIE. BAY AMOUNT FOR A VEHICLE BODY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH BAY AMOUNT.
The present invention relates to a rack amount 5 intended to be part of the body structure of a vehicle. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a rack amount. The invention finds a particularly advantageous, but not exclusive, application in the automotive field. In a conventional motor vehicle, the windshield is usually framed and supported laterally by two bay struts integral with the body structure. Each berry post generally consists of an assembly of two body members with complementary profiles, which are welded together at their longitudinal edges so as to form a substantially tubular shaped part. It is also known to integrate a reinforcing element within a bay amount, to increase the rigidity without having to increase the section. Thus the reinforcement is sometimes in the form of a steel tube whose ends are welded to the inner face of the body element the innermost with respect to the body. This type of rack amount, however, has the disadvantage of providing insufficient rigidity to effectively protect the passengers in case of rollover of the vehicle. This is particularly the case when it comes to a convertible vehicle, such as a classic convertible soft roof cabriolet, or a very trendy coupé-cabriolet retractable hardtop. Indeed, the absence of fixed roof then requires the amounts to ensure only the protection of passengers at the top of the vehicle.
To remedy this weakness, it is possible to use a reinforcement consisting of a sheet metal part which is welded over its entire length, either in a position interposed between the two bodywork elements, or on the internal face of the bodywork element. inside; said sheet metal part may be composed of one or more sheets welded to each other. The major disadvantage of such a bay amount lies in its relatively complex structure, which in practice is particularly complicated and therefore expensive to achieve. It should be noted that this complexity can result indifferently from the composite structure of the reinforcement, with a large number of parts to form, position and weld, and / or integration of said reinforcement between the main components of the amount of bay, that is to say the interior and exterior body components respectively, the complex integration of said reinforcement to be performed also without impacting the thickness of the inner and outer rabbets. Also, the technical problem to be solved by the object of the present invention, is to provide an amount of bay for a vehicle body including automotive type, comprising an outer body member, forming amount, an inner body member, forming lining, as well as a reinforcement, also called stiffener, disposed between the upright and the lining, baysight that would avoid the problems of the state of the art including providing a significantly improved resistance to deformation, while remaining easy to manufacture. The solution to the technical problem posed consists, according to the present invention, in that the reinforcement has a substantially semi-tubular shape, and in that it is secured to the lining at its edges. It is important to specify that the fact that the reinforcement, also called stiffener, is substantially tubular means that its shape corresponds to that of a half tube of any section. The reinforcement can thus be constituted by any long and hollow element, and also open longitudinally in the manner of a gutter. The profile of the reinforcement may in particular be chosen according to the level of rigidity to be achieved, but also the volume available between the two body elements delimiting the amount of bay. It is also understood that throughout this text, the songs designate the narrow faces which border the reinforcement longitudinally. Since they are intended to serve as a contact surface vis-à-vis the lining of the amount of rack, these songs have a significant width, and in any case compatible with the fastening technique used. Be that as it may, the invention as thus defined has the advantage of being of great structural simplicity. The shape of the reinforcement appears relatively elementary, and its implementation is independent of the connection between the two bodywork elements. The manufacture of a rack amount according to the invention is therefore greatly facilitated, which ultimately allows to contain the cost. Such an arrangement also makes it possible to maximize the size as well as the thickness of the reinforcement, while optimizing its positioning inside the rack amount. This ultimately provides a significant increase in the intrinsic rigidity of the reinforcement, and consequently a significant increase in the deformation resistance of the amount of bay considered as a whole. The present invention also relates to the features which will emerge during the following description, which should be considered in isolation or in all their possible technical combinations. This description, given by way of non-limiting example, is intended to better understand what the invention is and how it can be achieved. It is also given with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 illustrates a motor vehicle bay upright, which is according to a first embodiment of the invention. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the bay post of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows in detail the reinforcement that equips the bay post. Figure 4 shows the reinforcement of Figure 3, once secured to the lining of the amount of bay. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a rack post according to a second embodiment of the invention. For the sake of clarity, the same elements have been designated by identical references. Likewise, only the essential elements for understanding the invention have been represented, and this without regard to the scale and in a schematic manner. Figures 1 and 2 thus illustrate a rack 1 which is intended to be an integral part of a body structure of a motor vehicle. This amount of bay 1 is mainly composed of an outer body member, forming upright 10, an inner body member, forming a liner 20, and a reinforcement 30 positioned between the upright 10 and the lining 20. In accordance with FIG. to the object of the present invention, the reinforcement 30 has a substantially semi-tubular shape, and it is also secured to the liner 20 at its edges 31, 32. In this regard, it is observed in Figure 2 that with such an arrangement, the concave face 33 of the reinforcement 30 extends facing the inner face 21 of the liner 20, while its convex face 34 is disposed opposite the inner face 11 of the upright 10. As can be seen more clearly in FIG. 3, the reinforcement 30 is concretely constituted by a one-piece structural section. In other words, it is an element of great length which is made of a single piece, and which has a specific shape and a substantially constant section. According to FIG. 2, the reinforcement 30 has a U-shaped section. A substantially semi-circular profile is indeed particularly suitable for imparting rigidity, since it intrinsically provides stiffness in substantially all directions of the web. 'space. It also allows the reinforcement 30 to be devoid of edges that may constitute areas of weakness.
According to a feature of the invention, the reinforcement 30 has a thickness greater than that of the upright 10 and that of the liner 20. In practice, the thickness of the reinforcement 30 is advantageously less than 3 mm. It will also be advantageously greater than 1.2 mm. According to another feature of the invention, the reinforcement 30 extends over substantially the entire length of the liner 20 (Figure 4).
In practice, the length of the reinforcement 30 will preferably be between 500 and 1300 mm. According to another particularity of the invention, the reinforcement 30 is made of a material chosen from high yield strength (HLE) steels, ultra high yield strength (THLE) steels, and ultra high strength steels. yield strength (UHLE). By way of example, it is thus possible to use steels of the type E335D, HE335D, 22MnB5, etc. Particularly advantageously, each edge 31, 32 of the reinforcement 30 has a substantially complementary longitudinal profile of the lining portion 30 which extends directly opposite. This means in other words that the two edges 31, 32 are in almost continuous contact with the liner 20, which promotes the diffusion of mechanical stresses between the liner 20 and the reinforcement 30. In this logic, and in accordance with another advantageous characteristic of the invention, the reinforcement 30 is secured to the liner 20 over substantially its entire length. This specificity makes it possible to improve the mechanical strength of the assembly, and thus to stiffen the amount of bay 1 optimally.
As can clearly be seen in FIG. 2, the reinforcement 30 occupies as much as possible the space between the upright 10 and the liner 20, that is to say it extends to close proximity of the inner face 11 of said upright 10. The objective is obviously to be able to use a reinforcement 30 maximum size to give the greatest rigidity possible to the amount of bay 1. Figure 5 illustrates an amount of bay 100 which is in accordance with a second embodiment of the invention. This is distinguished from the first previously described, essentially by the fact that the amount of bay 100 is provided with a liner 120 whose shape is adapted to be in contact with the concave face 33 of the reinforcement 30. The assembly is arranged so that in addition to the fixing at its edges 31, 32, the reinforcement 30 is secured to the liner 120 via its concave face 33.
According to a feature of this second embodiment, the liner 120 has at least one contact surface 122, 123 with the concave face 33 of the reinforcement 30. In this embodiment, there are precisely two contact surfaces 122, 123 which are distributed symmetrically with respect to the concave face 33. In detail, they are in the form of two parallel strips which extend longitudinally along the inner face 121 of the liner 120. Obviously, the invention relates to any vehicle body, particularly of automobile type, which would be provided with at least one bay amount 1, 100 as previously described, and more generally still any motor vehicle provided with one or more bay posts 1, 100 of this kind . Finally, the invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a bay amount 1, 100.
De manière particulièrement avantageuse, la doublure 20, 120 est solidarisée au montant 10 par soudage électrique par résistance, communément appelé soudage par points, ou par soudage laser.30 This is remarkable in that the reinforcement 30 is secured to the liner 20, 120 by laser welding. As is symbolized with the arrows f1 and f2 in FIG. 2, as well as with the arrows f1, f2, f3 and f4 in FIG. 5, the laser welding is carried out by transparency. In this logic, and particularly advantageously, the liner 20, 120 preferably has a thickness of less than 1.2 mm. This feature is primarily intended to allow laser welding by transparency, but also not to interfere later mounting a possible door seal. According to another particularity of the manufacturing method, the reinforcement 30 is secured to the liner 20, 120 (FIG. 4) prior to the joining of said liner 20, 120 to the upright 10. This specificity advantageously makes it possible to achieve a part of the Assembly of the bay jamb 1, 100 in preparation. The subassembly thus obtained can then be mounted only later on the body on which is already integrated the amount 10. In a particularly advantageous manner, the liner 20, 120 is secured to the upright 10 by electrical resistance welding, commonly called spot welding, or laser welding.
