In motor vehicles, a camshaft can transform the rotary movement from the motor shaft in longitudinal movement actuating the intake and exhaust valves of the engine. For the synchronized control of the valves, the movement of the motor shaft is transmitted to the camshaft by a chain, a toothed belt or for example a sprocket cascade. The camshaft essentially consists of a rod having as many cams as valves or groups of valves to be controlled independently, directly or for example by mechanical references such as rockers. Bearings are placed between the cams of the camshaft. Thus, the document EP-A-1,860,338 describes a rolling bearing comprising a groove formed in an outer periphery of an outer ring and an oil supplying a hole formed in the groove and extending through the ring. external to a surface portion of an inner periphery of the outer ring, the surface portion being located out of contact with a rolling member. It is also known from GB-A-2,378,484 a camshaft of an automobile mounted in a bearing comprising a rolling base, which defines a cavity of semicircular cross section, and a bearing cap which is attached to the rolling base and also defines a semicircular cross sectional cavity, the two cavities together defining a circular section hole in which a portion of the shaft is rotated, one of the rolling base. and the bearing cap having a positioning member projecting from the surface of the respective cavity and said portion of the shaft providing a peripheral cavity in which the positioning member extends. None of the above documents, however, describes how to mount the camshaft with bearings in the engine. In particular, it is not described how the bearings can be properly positioned along the shaft during installation in the engine. [0006] There is therefore a need for a method of mounting a camshaft in an engine. The present invention thus relates to a method of mounting a camshaft comprising the steps of providing a camshaft having bearings, in particular of the type needle bearings or ball bearings, along the shaft, axial displacement of the bearings by inclination of the shaft in a first direction, insertion of first centrers upstream of the bearings, axial displacement of the bearings against the first centering by inclination of the shaft in a second direction, and axial immobilization of the bearings by insertion of second centrers on the other side of the bearings relative to the first centering. In a variant, the method further comprises a step of providing a tool for supporting the centralizers, some of the centralizers may advantageously be fixed on the tool, other centralizers being retractable relative thereto. In a variant, the first centralizers are inserted by securing the tool to the camshaft, the inclination of the shaft in the second direction then being advantageously achieved by manipulation of the tool secured to the tree. In a variant, the second centering devices are inserted by translation relative to the tool. In a variant, the method further comprises a step of positioning the camshaft in a vehicle head or in a camshaft holder, the bearings being immobilized along the shaft in a position corresponding to the position in the cylinder head or in the camshaft holder. The method may further comprise detaching the tool after the positioning of the camshaft. In a variant, at each of the axial displacement steps of the bearings, the shaft is disposed on an inclined support. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following detailed description of the embodiments of the invention, given by way of example only and with reference to the drawings which show FIGS. 1 and 2. , steps of an exemplary method of mounting a camshaft. A mounting method of a camshaft is proposed. The method comprises a step of providing a camshaft having bearings along the shaft. The method further comprises a step of axial displacement of the bearings by inclination of the shaft in a first direction followed by a step of insertion of first centering upstream of the bearings. The method comprises a step of axially displacing the bearings against the first centrers by inclination in a second direction of the shaft and a step of axial immobilization of the bearings by insertion of second centrers on the other side of the bearings relative to the first centering devices. . The method ensures that the bearings are well placed on the camshaft. In addition, the bearings are held in their position during the actual operation of mounting the camshaft in the engine. The simplicity and the efficiency of implementation of the assembly process make the process particularly suitable for the context of industrial mass production. Figure 1 is a step of an example method of mounting a camshaft. The method comprises a step of providing a camshaft 2 shown in section in FIG. 1 for the sake of clarity. The shaft 2 comprises two ends 4 and 5. The shaft 2 also includes cams 6. The cams 6 serve to transform the rotational movement of the shaft 2 in longitudinal movement. Bearings 8 comprising an inner ring and an outer ring are also part of the shaft 2. The bearings 8 allow the rotation of the shaft in the motor. The bearings 8 may in particular be ball bearings or needle bearings. The bearings 8 are movable along the shaft 2 before mounting the shaft in the engine. It should nevertheless be noted that the outer ring of each bearing 8 is mounted slightly tightly in the final location in the engine. The bearings 8 can not move when the shaft 2 is horizontal. This also means that after assembly of the shaft 2, the bearings 8 have no axial freedom. In the example of Figure 1, the shaft comprises eight cams 6 and five bearings 8. For example, a bearing 8 may be disposed between two cams 6 or between a cam 6 and an end 4, 5 of the shaft 2 The step of supplying the shaft 2 can be performed by an operator by taking the shaft 2 in a series package. The operator can directly manipulate the shaft 2 or have a centralizer support tool 12, 14 to facilitate handling of the shaft 2. The tool thus comprises a hook 16 for gripping the shaft 2. The hook is used to secure the tool 10 to the shaft 2. The tool 10 may also include a handle 18 for gripping to facilitate the gripping of the tool 10 by the operator. In addition, in the example of Figure 1, the first centerers 12 (for example five in number) are fixed on the tool 10 while the second centering 14 (for example five in number) are retractable on the tool 10. This reduces the size of the tool 10. The centralizers 12, 14 can also be all retractable. The method further comprises a step of axial displacement of the bearings 8 by inclining the shaft 2 in a first direction. According to the example of Figure 1, the shaft 2 is held in an inclined position by means of an inclined support 20 on which the operator has the shaft 2. The end 4 of the shaft 2 is located at the highest position. Each bearing 8 is then between a high neighboring cam 6 and a low adjoining cam 6, the upper adjoining cam 6 being located higher in altitude than the neighboring low cam 6. Each of the bearings 8 then slides under the effect of gravity in the direction of the arrow 22, for example until it is in abutment on the cam 6 close down. This also applies to the (s) bearing (s) 8 between a cam 6 and a 4 or 5 end. [0020] The arrow 24 indicates that the method further comprises a step of insertion of the first centralizers 12 upstream of the 8. The first centering devices can be inserted between on the one hand the bearings 8 and on the other hand the cam 6 or the end 4, 5 neighbor high. The insertion of the centralizers 12 can be carried out at the same time as the attachment of the tool 10 to the shaft 2. [0021] The shaft 2 is then inclined in a second direction, the end 4 being then at the lowest altitude. The inclination in the other direction is done by permutation of 180 °. The inclination in this other direction can be done by the arrangement of the shaft 2 on another inclined support. According to FIG. 2, the inclination in this other direction can be done by the inversion of the shaft and the arrangement on the same support 20. The inclination can be achieved by the operator by manipulation of the tool 10 secured to the shaft 2. Because the shaft 2 is in an inclined position, the gravity causes an axial displacement of the bearings 8 in the direction of the arrow 26. The displacement of the bearings 8 takes place until the bearings 8 are located against the first centering elements 12. The bearings 8 are then correctly positioned relative to the cams 6 or ends 4,5 which are closest to the bearings 8. In particular, the method makes it possible to position the bearings 8 in a central position. Central or centered position is understood to mean the position of the bearing 8 at which the bearing 8 is centered axially with respect to the cams 6 or ends 4,5 which surround the bearing 8. The method also comprises an immobilization step. axial bearing 8.
The immobilization of the bearings 8 is carried out by insertion of second centering elements 14 on the other side of the bearings 8 with respect to the first centering elements 12. The second centering elements 14 are inserted by translation with respect to the tool 10. The direction of the translation is indicated by the arrow 28. The centralizers 14 are then clamped. Bearings 8 can no longer move; in fact, the bearings 8 are surrounded by the centralizers 12 and 14 preventing the bearings 8 from moving along the shaft. However, the bearings 8 generally mounted on the camshaft 2 do not have an axial stop on the shaft 2. The bearings 8 can move freely before mounting the camshaft 2. As a result, the bearings 8 may be incorrectly positioned. The method thus ensures that the bearings 8 remain correctly positioned on the shaft 2. The method may further comprise a step of positioning the shaft 2 in an engine, or more specifically in a vehicle cylinder head or in a camshaft holder. The bearings 8 are then immobilized along the shaft 2 in a position corresponding to the position in the cylinder head or in the camshaft holder. The method may further comprise a step of separating the tool 10 after the positioning of the shaft 2 in the cylinder head or the camshaft holder. The bearings 8 remain correctly positioned because their outer ring has been mounted slightly tight in the final location. The mounting method of the present invention therefore solves the problem of axial positioning of the bearings before the removal of the camshaft in the cylinder head or in the camshaft holder.
