Un tel agencement a essentiellement pour fonction d'assurer un maintien supplémentaire du tronçon considéré de la ligne échappement du véhicule. Ce tronçon peut notamment être constitué d'un conduit dit 30 "de descente" qui relie un collecteur fixé sur le moteur du véhicule au reste de la ligne d'échappement. 2 Ce tronçon peut aussi être constitué d'un dispositif de dépollution du véhicule, notamment d'un catalyseur ou d'un filtre à particules. L'agencement considéré permet, en tout état de cause, de limiter l'influence des vibrations auxquelles est soumis le tronçon de ligne échappement en le fixant de manière sensiblement rigide au groupe motopropulseur du véhicule. Conventionnellement, la fixation d'un tel tronçon de ligne d'échappement est réalisée par l'intermédiaire d'une béquille dont io une extrémité est fixée au tronçon de ligne d'échappement, par exemple par soudage, et dont l'autre extrémité comporte un oeillet qui est destiné à être traversé par une des vis de fixation du boîtier qui comporte le palier relais sur le bloc moteur du véhicule. 15 Cette conception est peu avantageuse car d'une part, le montage du tronçon de ligne d'échappement sur le bloc moteur du véhicule est malaisé et car d'autre part, la longueur élevée de la béquille amplifie les vibrations du moteur et les transmet au tronçon de ligne d'échappement. 20 L'invention remédie à cet inconvénient en proposant une nouvelle conception selon laquelle le tronçon de ligne d'échappement est fixé au boîtier du palier dit "relais".
