Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a safety device for the delimitation of traffic lanes, comprising demarcation bases that are juxtaposed removably and have a base body that can be placed on the ground, and whose base plates erected are locked removably on the ground, by means of tie rods. Traffic lane boundaries, also referred to as "traffic delineators", consist of demarcation bases that are removably assembled to one another and attached to the ground. According to the embodiment of said bases, the fixing is ensured by means of retaining posts stuck in the ground, or else by means of specific tie rods anchoring to the ground when the base comprises a base body rising directly on the floor. In this case, the base body of each base has at least one erected base plate through which said base can be permanently recorded on the ground, using the tie rod. Patent Application EP-A1-1 428 937 describes, for example, a method of attaching a traffic delineator to an asphalt pavement, in which a lag screw is screwed into a hole previously drilled in the asphalt, and is simultaneously adhered via a fluid composite mass. The prior art additionally embraces ground anchors by percussion which are driven, like nails, in orifices provided for this purpose in demarcation bases, and thus lock them permanently. The delimitation of traffic lanes, capable of pivoting, raises, in particular, the problem that the section animated with pivoting must also be anchored in the ground in any form. Lag bolts of large cross-section, usually provided for this purpose at the ends of the base section animated by a pivoting, are nested in bushings embedded in the ground. A disadvantage then is that the impact response is significantly modified in this region, depending on the length of the animated section of lateral pivoting, which is attributable to the locking only at the ends. Depression of impact tie rods would result in undesirable damage to the surface of the roadway and can not be put into practice since the impact-driven tie rods should, at first, be removed from the road surface. using special tools, to be relocated to another location. Based on these considerations, the invention aims to provide a safety device, for the delimitation of traffic lanes, making use of ground anchors that allow a quick and simple locking of the demarcation bases on the floor, both in the closed position of the device, as for the case where individual bases are driven by lateral pivoting, without the retaining properties of said device being negatively modified, neither in the open position nor in the closed position.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the fact that the anchors on the ground include a threaded socket that can be anchored in a hole made in the ground, and an anchoring element that can be screwed into said socket, the erected base plate being pressed against said sleeve, by the head of the anchoring element, with integration of a prestressing element.
The safety device according to the invention uses two-part ground anchors. On the one hand, use is made of a threaded socket that can be anchored in a bore and in which, on the other hand, an anchoring element can be screwed at a later stage. In this context, it is important that the screwing of the erected base plate takes place with integration of a prestressing element which is pressed against the sleeve by the head of said anchoring element. Said prestressing element is preferably in the form of an elastic washer traversed by said anchoring element. Alternatively, it may for example be a lock washer and a split ring. Nevertheless, an elastic washer offers the advantage of allowing the application of a well-defined prestressing force, which allows a better adjustment of the retaining properties of the safety device according to the invention. An important aspect, in said device, is that the ground anchors can be easily screwed after the fact, following the presence of threaded bushings previously put in place; and can, in addition, be also easily restarted at a later stage. In principle, said bushings remain in the ground. An additional advantage is that anchoring elements of different configurations can be screwed into one and the same threaded bushing, depending on the desired degree of retention. Said anchoring elements may, for example, stand out by a rupture threshold zone, which is close to the head of said elements. Said zone is preferably a groove formed in the mass between said head and the adjoining threaded section. Depending on the depth and the geometry of said groove, this notch results in peak forces in the event of impact, and therefore in a well defined rupture of the head; thus, the alignment of demarcation bases can shift laterally in the presence of a predefined force, and therefore does not behave too rigidly, during an impact, because the desired objective is only to deviate vehicles coming into contact with the safety device, knowing that, to protect the occupants, a well-defined elastic flexibility behavior of said device represents an imperative prerequisite for practical use. Holes in the upright base plates, through which the anchoring elements are nested, may be additionally designed as oblong holes to allow additional elastic flexibility, free from destruction. According to the invention, the threaded bushing may have a smooth outer surface adhered, by means of an adhesive, to the wall of the bore. Thus, said sleeve can be respectively hammered by percussion in a bore previously formed in the ground, or glued in a previously drilled bore. Said bushing may comprise, on its outer surface, at least one radially protruding anti-rotation stop. This has the effect of prohibiting a joint rotation of said bushing at the screwing stage of the anchoring element. An anti-rotation stop may also, for example, be embodied by inclined faces welded externally applied. In place of the percussion depression of the bushing, the latter can also provide an external thread through which it is then screwed into a drill previously worked. The safety device according to the invention, provided with ground anchors of a new type, is preferably used in regions where safety rails must, for example, be shifted from time to time to allow alternating traffic. This is why it is considered particularly judicious that several groups of threaded bushings are placed in the ground, in the regions in which at least one demarcation base must be driven by lateral pivoting, knowing that only a group of respective bushings is provided for the anchoring of the bases, while the other group, provided at least, is assigned to the locking of the bases when the latter are in the region of said other group. In other words, a row of threaded bushings is immediately embedded in the ground at the locations to which orifices are provided in the safety device, so that these additional bushings can be used, during the removal of the bases, to ensure permanent recording by means of anchoring elements previously unscrewed at another location. In order to protect the sockets to which no base is anchored, said sockets may be covered by covering caps which are releasably associated with them and are preferably screwed into said sockets. In principle, each group of sleeves has at least one socket. Preferably, however, in the open position of the device, the whole pivot-driven base section is anchored, in the ground, exactly as in the closed position, that is to say that each group includes a plurality of sockets. An additional advantage lies in the possibility of removing the massive lag bolts, hitherto necessary in the extreme region of the animated bases of pivoting; thus, because of their low elastic flexibility, said lag bolts do not represent any danger in the closed position of the device since, following the presence of massive lag bolts, this region is extremely devoid of elastic flexibility, under circumstances therefore not optimal for each type of vehicle, depending on the situation in which the impact occurs. Finally, according to the invention, at least one demarcation base can be pivotally mounted laterally on the device, a group of threaded bushings being assigned to said at least one base, driven by lateral pivoting. The invention will now be described in more detail, by way of non-limiting examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1. is a side elevation of a first embodiment of the safety device according to FIG. invention for the delimitation of traffic lanes; Figure 2 is a plan view of the device of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a longitudinal section of a threaded socket provided with a cover cap; Figure 4 is a longitudinal section of a ground anchor and its mounting method; Figure 5 is a longitudinal section of a first embodiment of a threaded bushing; Figure 6 shows an anchor element adapted to be inserted into the threaded bushing of Figure 5; Figure 7 is a longitudinal section of another embodiment of a threaded bushing; Figure 8 is a perspective view of the threaded bush of Figure 5, as well as the anchor of Figure 6; Figure 9 is a side elevation of a cover cap; Fig. 10 is a side elevation of a first embodiment of an end portion of a demarcation base; Figure 11 is a longitudinal section of the base of Figure 10, passing through the anchors on the ground; Figure 12 is a bottom view of the base of Figure 10; Fig. 13 is an enlarged fragmentary illustration corresponding to Fig. 10, in the area of the ground anchor; Fig. 14 is a side elevation of another embodiment of a security device; Figure 15 is a bottom view of the device of Figure 14; and Fig. 16 is a section along the line A-A of Fig. 14. Fig. 1 is a side elevation of a safety device 1. The illustrated device 1 is composed of a plurality of demarcation bases 2 arranged in juxtaposition. Each base 2 comprises a base body 3 which is removably locked on the ground 8 by tie rods 4, by means of erected base plates commented in more detail in support of the following figures. FIG. 1 shows a region of the device 1 that can, if necessary, be opened to the crossing traffic. As shown in Figure 2, the left-hand region of the device 1 may be pivoted to one side; and pivoting to the other side may be printed to the region to the right in the plane of the drawing, which provides the desired crossing traffic for automotive vehicles. The particularity of the device 1 illustrated lies in the removal of the extreme anchor points hitherto necessary, the individual anchors 4 ground anchor being used, instead, both in the open position of the device 1, as in the closed position. To this end, several groups 5, 6 of threaded bushings 7 are previously implanted in the ground 8, at the corresponding locations. The threaded bushings are illustrated in detail in FIGS. 5 and 7. In order to prevent any grime from creeping into the unused sleeves 7, the latter are closed off by covering caps 9 which, as shown in FIG. 3, are introduced from top to bottom in said sleeves 7 by a screwing movement. Figure 9 illustrates a cap 9 having a flattened head, and a threaded tip 10 which attaches to said head, downward, and cooperates with an internal thread 11 (Figure 5). Said thread 11 is provided to allow the screwing, in the sleeve 7, of an anchoring element 12 as illustrated in Figure 6. The screwing of the element 12, in the sleeve 7, is represented as FIG. 5 further illuminates the structural arrangement of the threaded bushing 7. In this embodiment, said bushing 7 is of tubular configuration and has a smooth outer surface 13. An end 14 of said sleeve, located at the bottom in the plane of the drawing, terminates in a point and thus serves as insertion aid in a hole previously made in the ground 8, and coordinated with the outer diameter of the sleeve 7. The end lower 14 may be provided with a water outlet. The internal thread 11, located at the upper end 1 o, extends not over the entire length of the sleeve 7, but only over a region of about 40 mm to 60 mm when said sleeve 7 offers a total length of 300 mm to 400 mm. A complementary external thread 15 of the anchoring element 12 (FIG. 6) has a length exceeding, by about 10 mm, that of the internal thread 11 of the sleeve 7. Said sleeve 7 has frontally, that is to say 15 in the vicinity of the internal thread 11, a flange 16 projecting radially outwardly, and through which said sleeve 7 can be driven into the ground 8 by percussion. FIG. 5 shows, in addition, a prestressing element 17 in the form of a spring washer which, in the integrated position, is traversed by the anchoring element 12 and exerts a well-defined pretension on said element 12 to screwed state. Said element 12 has a flat discoidal head 18 whose outer diameter is coordinated with the outer diameter of the flange 16. A tool engaging surface 19 is further shaped on the head 18. In this embodiment, it This is a square appendix optimally shown in FIG. 8. A zone 20 with a rupture threshold, or frangible zone in the form of a groove arranged in the mass, is directly connected to the head 18 in the direction of the external thread 15. Said thread 15, located in the direct continuity, is extended by a long thin rod 21 ending in a point, at its end, and serving as an insertion aid during assembly. FIG. 7 shows an embodiment of a threaded bushing 7a which is completely identical to the embodiment of FIG. 5, except for two antirotation stops 22 occupying opposite diametrical positions and protruding radially outwards. In this embodiment, said stops 22 are wedge-shaped configuration and end in tip towards the lower end 14 of the sleeve 7a. The size of the stop 22 is chosen purely by way of example, in the present case, and can be varied within wide limits both as regards its layout and its dimensioning. In principle, it is also conceivable to provide several antirotation stops of smaller size, instead of a small number of high sizing stops. The crucial aspect is that the sleeve 7a does not rotate together when the anchoring element 12 is screwed on.
Figures 10 to 13 illustrate, by different views, an embodiment of a safety device 1a in the region of a pivoting end of the demarcation base alignment. In this case also, a demarcation base 2a shown is retained on the ground 8 along its longitudinal sides, by means of tie rods 4. FIG. 12 reveals the presence of an erected seat sheet 23 necessary for the logging permanently, and traversed by the two tie rods 4 anchored to the ground arranged at a distance vis-à-vis the other. In this embodiment of the device 1a, as evidenced by an observation of FIG. 11, each base 2a has a base body 3a provided with impact plates 24 in an arc of a circle. The band-shaped seat sheets 23 located at a distance from one another below the impact plates 24 extend from one longitudinal side to the other of the body 3a. The enlarged illustration of FIG. 13 reveals that the head 18 rests on the base plate 23 erected with integration of the prestressing element 17, said sheet 23 being pressed against the flange 16 of the threaded bushing 7.
The demarcation base 2a considered is thus anchored in the ground safely. The variant of FIGS. 14 to 16 differs from that of FIGS. 10 to 13 in the different configuration of the demarcation bases of a safety device 1b. The bases 2b illustrated in FIGS. 14 to 16 have a substantially trapezoidal base body 3b; unlike the embodiment of FIGS. 10 to 13, a box-shaped spar 25 then extends at a distance above the body 3b, this spar 25 being connected to said body 3b by means of several posts 26 spaced apart from each other. As in the preceding embodiment, said body 3b is anchored in the ground by tie rods 4, respectively sunken, in the ground, longitudinally and at a distance from one another. In this embodiment, each demarcation base 2b has a water discharge 27. As attested by an observation of FIGS. 14 and 15, the base 2b is permanently locked on the ground anchor tie rod 4, in the region of said evacuation 27. To enable the anchoring element 12 to be screwed on, an impact plate 28 in the form of a wing, extending above the upright seat sheet 23, is perforated such that said element 12 can be fitted from top to bottom through said impact plate 28, so that the head 18 of said element rests flat on said upright base plate 23, with integration of the prestressing element 17. The tool engaging surface 19, in the form of a square, is dimensioned such that it is below the perforation in the sheet 28 and does not overflow thereby, beyond the outer profile of the safety device lb. It goes without saying that many modifications can be made to the device described and shown, without departing from the scope of the invention.
