Abstract
Description
-1--1-
30 - l'année suivante inverser le procédé: faste de l'année précédente devient bras porteur de côts et le bras porteur de l'année précédente étant supprimé, il permettra de -2- This invention presents a vine pruning method that promotes the longevity of vines and the quality of the grapes. There are already two large size techniques called Guyot double size and bilateral cord size. These sizes have made a lot of improvements in the vineyards but have disadvantages: -the size Guyot double: elongation of the upper part of the vines, despite the presence of cots, difficulty controlling diseases and yields, heaping grapes. bilateral cord size: aging of the support arms, or cords, after 7 to 8 years with formation of desiccation cones leading to a significant decrease in the number of fertile buds and leaf area. This causes a decrease in the quality of the grapes because photosynthesis is insufficient. The reconstruction of the foot is then indispensable but often impossible, because no reconstruction is planned in the bilateral cord. This new process of size can overcome these disadvantages. It is easier to do if it is practiced as soon as the establishment of the production size on a young vine more than 2 years old. It is a size process characterized by the annual renewal of one of the two arms of a cord size according to the following process: 20 - the 1st year of training, choose 2 branches, a few centimeters below the 1st wire, leave on each branch 2 to 3 buds and 1 bud of reconstruction under the aste, in the axil of the vine, fold the astes totally flat. - the 2nd year, keep one of the two astes as the carrying arm and cut the branches from the buds of the previous year by leaving 2 to 3 cots and under this arm 25 to cut 1 side of reconstruction, in the armpit of the vine, each side consisting of the eye of the crown and a frank eye. On the other side of the vine, remove the aste from the previous year, choose a branch, as close as possible to the stock to remake a aste with 2 to 3 buds on the top and 1 reconstruction bud below the armpit of the cep. 30 - the following year to reverse the process: the pomp of the previous year becomes the carrying arms of cots and the carrying arm of the previous year being removed, it will allow -2-
This is only possible thanks to the systematic presence of a bud and a reconstruction side under the aste and the cord. This process allows a good arrangement of the grapes, avoids overcrowding, promotes a uniform vegetation and a good leaf area. The grapes benefit from a microclimate favorable to the synthesis of anthocyanins. The risk of diseases (botrytis) are reduced because there is better aeration and better penetration of treatment products. Work in green is facilitated: suckering and splitting can be done methodically. This allows the reduction of the number of twigs present in winter and thus the reduction of the number of wounds of size. Mechanical pre-cutting is possible, significantly reducing the working time. Thanks to the presence of the bud and the reconstruction side the cords, or carrying arm, do not stay in place for more than two years: this prevents the formation of desiccation cones and the decline in the number of fertile buds. Mechanical harvesting can be done at a time when the maximum amount of grapes is at an optimum stage of maturity. The attached drawings illustrate this new size: FIG. 1 represents the vine stock more than 2 years old, ready to receive the formation size of the year 1. FIG. 2 represents this same vine after size. and folding. FIG. 3 represents the vine after the formation size of year 2. FIG. 4 represents the vine after the formation size of year 3. FIG. it is a reconstruction or a support arm In reference to these drawings, here is how to achieve this size: 25 - training size year 1: on the vine, with 3 to 4 branches (l), choose 2 established branches of preferably 3 cm below the first wire or bending wire (2). Leave on these shoots, now called astes (3), 2 to 3 buds (4) on the top and 1 bud of reconstruction (5) under the aste, in the armpit of the vine. The folding of these astes should be done completely flat, exactly following the folding wire, and held by 3 fasteners for each aste. - training size year 2: we keep one of these astes that becomes an arm -3-
porteur (6). 5 1015 carrier (6). On this arm we cut the branches so as to leave only 2 to 3 cots (7), themselves carriers of 2 buds: the eye of the crown (9) and a free eye (10). Under this support arm where the reconstruction bud had been left the previous year, the twigs were pruned so as to leave a reconstruction margin (8). On the other side of the vine we choose a branch of the year that can be derived from the aste of the previous army, or the bud of reconstruction. On this new aste we leave 2 to 3 buds on the top and always 1 reconstruction bud under the aste, in the armpit of the vine. - training size year 3: the size of the woods will be the opposite of the year 2. The aste becomes in turn carrying arm with 2 to 3 cots on the top and 1 rebuild side underneath. The 2-year-old carrying arm is cut above the rebuilding side: on this one one is selected from the year. 2 to 3 buds will be left on top and 1 reconstruction bud underneath. - size of formation year 4: one resumes the size since the army 2 so as to invert each year aste and carrying arm: one must never forget to leave the bud 15 and the side of reconstruction. This new size system can be applied in the protected designation areas and all Bordeaux grape varieties. It can be done by anyone who has been trained as a winemaker. 5,1015
