Abstract

The seat (2) has an anti-submarining unit (20) with a front ridge (22) and a rear cavity (24) on which a passenger is supported when a movable seating cushion (8) is in a rear position (7). The cushion is pivotably mounted around a horizontal rotational axle (12). The cushion has a plastic material wall (14) which contacts the unit (20) and deformed locally. The wall folds under an effect of pelvis of the passenger and adopts shape of the unit (20). An independent claim is also included for a rear bench seat of a motor vehicle comprising a rear central seat.
