Abstract

The table has a support plate (3) fixed horizontally to an upper end of a leg assembly. The plate has a support portion (14) in contact with a lower surface of a movable table top in a usage position. Fingers cooperate with notches of the table top. The table top is mounted in rotation with the plate. The plate has two mutually opposite sides, where each side has a hook.

Description

Tilting and removable table.

  The present invention relates to a table, in particular a table of furniture.

  A table generally comprises a base on which is fixed a plate comprising a flat horizontal bearing surface for depositing objects, which may be for example dishes or utensils necessary for the meal.

  The tray can be mounted on the base pivotally between a position of use, in which the tray is oriented substantially horizontally, and a folded or storage position, in which the tray is oriented substantially vertically. Such articulation of the tray on the base allows in particular greatly reduce the size of the table and can easily store in a small space.

  The tray can also be mounted on the base removably to separate the tray from the base to obtain a removable table particularly easy to store. A table with a removable tray may allow, in addition, to replace a tray by another tray comprising for example a bearing surface having a different appearance or ornamental configuration.

  US 5 483 901 discloses a table comprising a base on which a plate is removably mounted. The base is formed by two identical sets and arranged in a crossed manner. Each set comprises two amounts interconnected by a cross. The amounts of the first set comprise at their upper ends hinge pins adapted to cooperate with complementary bores of the tray to allow the rotation of the plate on the base. The amounts of the second set comprise at their upper ends fastening means, such as clips. The fastening means comprise on one side a bearing portion, having an internal C-shaped profile, adapted to support said upper ends and on the other side a fixing portion comprising notches adapted to receive a vertical portion of corresponding form of the tray for fixing the tray on the base.

  Such a table has the disadvantage of not allowing the installation of trays of large sizes on the base. Indeed, the bearing surface of the plate on the base is relatively small and does not allow to have a good hold in position of the plate. The fastening means are not rigidly connected with the amount, there is thus a probability of loss of the fastening means.

  The present invention aims to provide a table comprising a tray easily mountable and removable on the base.

  The invention also relates to a table comprising a base adapted to receive a plurality of trays of different sizes and shapes, the base allowing, in addition, a high stability of the trays in a horizontal position of use.

  For this purpose, the table comprises a base, a removable tray and movable relative to the base between a position of use and a folded position. The table comprises a support means fixed substantially horizontally to an upper end of the base, said support means comprising a bearing portion in contact with the plate in a position of use and locking means adapted to cooperate with means of complementary locking of the plate, said plate being rotatably mounted with the support means.

  Such a table has the advantage of comprising a support means comprising a large bearing surface in contact with a lower face of the plate in a position of use. The plateau is thus particularly stable whatever its size. It also becomes possible to deposit on the tray objects of high weight.

  The table makes it possible to lock the tray on the base in a particularly easy way. Indeed, a simple rotation of the tray from a storage position or folded to a position of use allows for locking the tray on the base.

  The table also allows the tray to be held by relatively simple and inexpensive locking means.

  With such a table comprising a support means having a large bearing surface in contact with the plate, it is further possible with a single base to mount a plurality of trays of different size and shape.

  In one embodiment, the plate comprises an intermediate attachment piece comprising the locking means and means for pivoting the plate.

  Preferably, the support means comprises a plate comprising two mutually opposite sides, each side being provided with a hook whose inner surface is able to form a rotational bearing. The hooks and the plate can advantageously be made in one piece.

  The hooks make it possible to ensure in a particularly simple and economical way the rotation of the plate relative to the base and allow to realize, moreover, quickly the assembly or disassembly of a plate.

  In a preferred embodiment, the hooks comprise a C-shaped profile. The locking means of the support means may comprise at least one bolt-shaped finger hinged at the support means and elastically biased, said finger comprising one end. adapted to cooperate with the locking means complementary to the plate, forming a keeper. The finger may advantageously comprise a bevelled surface.

  In a preferred embodiment, the locking means comprise two fingers interconnected by an elastic member, the lower ends of said fingers projecting from the support means.

  The intermediate piece may advantageously comprise a bearing portion of corresponding shape with the plate of the support means, the bearing portion comprising two pins capable of cooperating with the hooks of said plate.

  The bearing portion of the intermediate piece may be extended at each of its ends by two curved portions each comprising a pin, said curved portions capping curved portions of the support plate each comprising the pin.

  The present invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description of an embodiment taken by way of nonlimiting example and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a front view of the table according to the present invention comprising a tray positioned in a folded or storage position, - Figure 2 is a sectional view along II-II of Figure 1, - Figure 3 is a view corresponding to Figure 2, the tray being in 4 to 6 are respectively front, bottom and side views of a support plate fixed to the base of the table; FIGS. 7 and 8 are respectively front views; and side of an intermediate piece fixed on the table top, and - Figure 9 is a detail view of the locking means

of the table.

  In Figure 1, a table, referenced 1 as a whole, comprises a base 2 on which is fixed a support plate 3, an intermediate part 4 is rotatably mounted on the support plate 3. The intermediate part 4 is fixed rigidly on a tray 5.

  The base 2 comprises two sets 6, 7 identical and parallel to each other. The assembly 6 comprises a foot 8 and a post 9. The foot 8 has a C-shaped profile and comprises two support portions 8a and 8b, substantially flat (Figures 2 and 3). The bearing portions 8a and 8b are intended to be in contact with the ground. The foot 8 is connected substantially in the middle with the amount 9. The upright 9, of generally rectangular shape, extends substantially vertically.

  In a similar manner, the assembly 7 comprises a foot 10 and an upright 11.

  The uprights 9 and 11 are interconnected horizontally at each of their ends by a lower cross member 12 and an upper cross member 13. The upper cross member 13 is arranged so that an upper edge is flush with the upper end of the uprights 9 and 11.

  The support plate 3 is fixed substantially horizontally on the base 2, at the upper rail 13 and the upper end of the uprights 9 and 11, by fasteners (not shown), such as screws.

  As illustrated more clearly in FIGS. 4 and 5, the support plate 3 is generally U-shaped. It comprises a support portion 14, in the form of a rectangular plate, extended at each of its ends by two portions 15, 16 curved vertically downwards and identical to each other. In other words, the bent portions 15, 16 are bent substantially 90 downwards relative to the bearing portion 14.

  The bearing portion 14, substantially horizontal, is of generally rectangular shape. The curved portions 15 and 16 are identical to each other and extend substantially vertically.

  The bent portion 15 (Figure 6) comprises a skirt 17 extending at one longitudinal end by a horizontal portion 18, having a concave surface 19 oriented vertically upwards. The horizontal portion 18 extends vertically upwards by a vertical portion 21 comprising a rounded surface 20. The rounded surface 20 is connected to the concave surface 19 and comprises a profile in the form of a semicircle. The concave and rounded surfaces 20 constitute a rotational bearing for a pin 4a of the intermediate piece 4 (FIGS. 7 and 8). An upper edge 21a of the vertical portion 21 is offset vertically downwards with respect to the portion of FIG. support 14.

  The horizontal portion 18 and the vertical portion 21 thus constitute a hook 22, said hook 22 having dimensions adapted to easily assemble or dismount the intermediate piece 4 (Figures 7 and 8). The distance separating an inner edge 22a, vertically extending the upper edge 21a towards the horizontal portion 18, and a portion of the concave surface 19 opposite said edge 22a is substantially greater than the diameter of the stud 4a of the intermediate piece 4.

  In a similar way, the bent portion 16 comprises a hook 23.

  The bearing portion 14 of the support plate 3 comprises a groove 24 located in the vicinity of a longitudinal side 14a. The groove 24 is adapted to allow the passage of fingers 25 and 26 (FIG. 9) through the bearing portion 14.

  The fingers 25 and 26 are identical to each other. The finger 25, 26 is hinged about a hinge axis 27, 28 of a housing 29, fixed on a lower surface 14b of the bearing portion 14. The fingers 25 and 26 are connected to the housing 29 of so that their upper ends protrude from the upper surface 14c of the bearing portion 14 and their lower ends protrude from the housing 29.

  The finger 25, 26 comprises a stud 25e, 26e cylindrical extending substantially horizontally. The studs 25e and 26e are arranged in the same horizontal plane. An elastic member 31, such as a coil spring, connects the fingers 25 and 26 between them. The elastic member 31 bears at one of its ends on a lateral face of the finger 25 and is arranged around the stud 25e. The elastic member 31 comes to the other end bearing on a side face of the finger 26 being disposed around the stud 26e. The studs 25e, 26e allow the resilient member 31 to remain in position. The elastic member 31 is able to exert a restoring force on the fingers 26 and 27 when the lower ends of said fingers are in a close position between them. .

  The finger 25 comprises, at its upper end, a first horizontal surface 25a which extends outwardly of the finger and downwards towards the support plate 3 by a curved surface and then by a first bevelled surface 25b. The beveled surface 25b extends inwardly by a curved surface and then by a second horizontal surface 25c extending inwardly of the finger 25. The horizontal surface 25c is extended by a curved surface which extends outwards through a second bevelled surface 25d. Bevelled surfaces 25b and 25d have substantially the same inclination.

  Similarly, the finger 26 includes, at its upper end, a first horizontal surface 26a, a first beveled surface 26b, a second horizontal surface 26c and a second bevelled surface 26d.

  As illustrated more clearly in FIGS. 7 and 8, the intermediate piece 4, of generally U-shaped shape, is fixed rigidly at the level of the plate 5.

  The intermediate piece 4 is in conformation with the support plate 3. The intermediate piece 4 comprises a bearing portion 32 extended at each of its ends by two curved portions 33 and 34. The curved portions 33 and 34 are adapted to capping the curved portions 15 and 16 of the support plate 3 when the plate 5 is in a position of use (Figure 2). The curved portions 33 and 34 each comprise a pin 4a directed inwards and adapted to cooperate with the hooks 22 and 23 of the support plate 3. The pins 4a are made here in a stainless steel in order to obtain a good resistance to wear.

  The bearing portion 32 comprises, on a longitudinal side 32a, a fixing plate 36. The fixing plate 36, fixed on the plate 5, has a thickness substantially equal to the thickness of the bearing portion 32.

  The fixing plate 36 comprises two notches 37 and 38. The two notches are in shape with the fingers 25 and 26. When the plate 5 is in a position of use, the surfaces 25c, 25d and 26c, 26d fingers 25 and 26 rest on the surfaces (not shown) in shape matching the notches 37 and 38.

  The fixing plate 36 is made of stainless steel here in order to obtain good wear resistance. The use of a stainless steel only for the attachment plate 36 provides a relatively lightweight intermediate piece 4, the bearing portion 32 and the curved portions 33 and 34 being made of aluminum.

  The table 1 can be used in the following way: during a change of plate 5, the lower ends of the fingers 25 and 26 are tightened so as to release the upper ends of said fingers 25 and 26 of the notches 37 and 38, so as to to allow a rotation of the plate 5 relative to the support plate 3. After release, the fingers 25 and 26 return to a rest position under the action of the elastic member 31. When the plate 5 has been brought into a substantially vertical position (Figure 2), it raises said plate 5 to remove the pins 4a hooks 22 and 23. It thus becomes possible to install another tray equipped with an intermediate piece. The locking of the new plate on the base 1 takes place in a position of use is effected by means of the fingers 25, 26 and notches 37, 38.

  Thanks to the invention, it thus becomes possible to mount with a single base trays of dimensions that can be relatively easily variable and to lock the tray on the base by a simple rotational movement.
