Abstract

The pick-up device (1) such as a biodegradable carton includes a cut-out (5) defining a removable scoop element designed for pushing animal faeces into a paper bag (2) through an opening in the device, left by removal of the scoop. An independent claim is included for a system for picking up dog faeces using the above device.

Description

SYSTEM FOR PICKING UP ANIMAL DEJECTIONS

  The present invention relates to the field of collecting animal excrement, in particular dog excrement, on roads or sidewalks. The present invention relates more particularly to a structure intended for the collection of animal manure, said structure constituting at least one element of a system for collecting manure

single use animals.

  The prior art already knows many solutions to allow the collection of animal excrement. We know in particular the solution to partially turn a bag over one hand and then pick up the dejection with the hand protected by the bottom of the bag. However, the use of such a bag is repugnant to many users and only picks up items.

  There is proposed, in American patent US 6126215, a device comprising in particular a disposable bag having an open end, and a cardboard structure comprising a base element, lateral faces and a gripping element, said lateral faces respectively comprising a line folding center. US patent US3806984 relates to a biodegradable system intended to collect and dispose of animal excrement. The device consists of: - a semi-rigid frame having an opening, said opening having a front member provided with an end so as to slide on a flat surface under the dejection of the animal, - of a bag having an open end which is glued at the opening of said frame. In US patent US4138153, there is provided a container for collecting animal excrement, which consists of a bag, bag type

  plastic, attached to a foldable frame.

  Said frame has a part playing the role of shovel and a part allowing the gripping of said

container.

  Said frame is made of a disposable material, said material offering a certain rigidity and allowing the formation of fold lines (cardboard, plastic,). The systems described above do not, however, generally allow all of the excrement to be collected. In particular, it is very often necessary, to collect all the excrement, to use an additional tool in order to push the excrement into the bag constituting the collection system. The owners are therefore forced either to bring the tool directly which will allow them to push the droppings, or to find near the droppings an element that can serve as a complementary tool. Another alternative for the owner would be to not collect all of the droppings,

  thus limiting the advantage of such a system.

  American patent US4103952 relates to the combination of a bag and a shovel intended to collect animal excrement. The bag has a closed lower part intended to hold the droppings inside the bag and an upper part which has an opening for the insertion of the droppings. The lower part is made of polyethylene, the upper part of semi-rigid material of the type also polyethylene. Said bag further comprises means for closing the upper part after

  the introduction of droppings into the bag.

  Said shovel is disposed, before and after the collection of excrement, inside the bag. However, the system consists of two separate tools, namely the bag intended to contain animal excrement, and the shovel intended to push the excreta into the bag, thereby implying tools

different production.

  In addition, the insertion into the bag of a shovel intended to push the droppings requires a not very easy implementation, said shovel having to be positioned

  so that the bag can be folded.

  The present invention intends to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a system having a tool for pushing droppings into the

  bag, said tool being integrated into the system.

  To do this, the present invention is of the type described above and it is remarkable, in its broadest sense, in that said structure comprises a precut defining a removable element intended to push animal excrement in said bag

  by an opening of said structure.

  Preferably, said element constitutes the opening of said structure through which the

  animal droppings are pushed inside said bag.

  Advantageously, said element has a

grip area.

  Advantageously, said projection forming a pickup shovel has a thinned edge so as to

  favor the collection of animal excrement.

  In a first embodiment of the invention, said structure has at least one fold line making it possible to constitute a projection forming

pickup shovel.

  In a second embodiment of the invention, said structure has at least one fold line making it possible to form a projection of said structure directed towards the inside of said bag, said projection making it possible to facilitate the insertion of the droppings

animals in said bag.

  In another embodiment of the invention, said structure comprises at least one fold line making it possible to form an element which has a projection directed towards the outside of said bag so as to form a pickup shovel and a projection directed towards the inside said bag so as to facilitate the insertion of

  animal droppings in said bag.

  Advantageously, said structure has a

grip area.

  The invention also relates to a system for collecting canine excrement comprising said structure, said system further comprising a bag having an open end fixed to said

structure.

  Preferably, said system is biodegradable. Advantageously, said structure is made of cardboard. Advantageously, said bag is made of paper. The invention will be better understood using the

  description, given below for purely explanatory purposes,

  of an embodiment of the invention, with reference to the appended figures: - Figure 1 illustrates a front view of a structure for collecting animal excrement according to the invention; and - Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the system for collecting animal excrement according to the invention ready for the collection of animal excrement. The system for collecting animal faeces according to the invention consists of a structure (1) and a bag (2), which has a fixed open end

to said structure (1).

  Before being used for the collection of animal excrement, in particular dog excrement, said structure (1) is arranged so as to present

  a flat surface, as shown in Figure 1.

  Thus, said structure (1) provides storage

  easy and has a small footprint.

  Said structure (1) consists of two opposite straight edges (3a, 3b) and two edges (3c, 3d), respectively lower and upper,

having a curvilinear shape.

  In a preferred embodiment, said upper edge (3d) of said structure (1) is configured so as to present a gripping area (11), thus allowing the owner of the animal to hold said structure and direct it towards the droppings at

to pick up.

  It is of course obvious that said

  structure (1) can take other forms.

  Said structure (1) also comprises precut lines (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) so as to define a precut (5) arranged in the center of said

structure (1).

  Said precut (5) has a straight bottom edge defined by said precut line (4c). Said precut (5) has lateral edges defined by said precut lines (4a, 4b), said lateral edges of said precut area (5) preferably having the same shape as the edges

  lateral (3a, 3b) of said structure (1).

  In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said precut (5) has an upper edge defined by said precut line (4d), said upper edge of said precut (5) providing a central projection (6) towards the edge higher (3d)

of said structure (1).

  Said precut (5) is separated from said structure (1) by the exertion of pressure on said

  precut (5) of said structure (1).

  Said precut (5) thus separated from said structure (1) becomes an element (E) intended to push animal excrement in said bag as illustrated in

figure 2.

  Said element (E) is held by the owner at the level of said projection (6), said projection (6)

thus serving as a handle.

  Said structure (1) also comprises two fold lines (7a, 7b) arranged transversely, going from the lateral edges (3a, 3b) of said structure (1) until reaching the precut lines (4a, 4b) constituting said element (E) independent intended to push animal excrements into the bag. Said fold lines (7a, 7b) are located in the area formed by the lower edge of said precut (5) and the edge

  lower (3c) of said structure (1).

  Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the system for picking up the dejection according to

  the invention, said system being ready for use.

  To this end, said precut (5) has been separated from said structure (1) so as to obtain the element (E) intended to push animal excrement

in said bag (2).

  The lower part of said structure (1) is folded along said fold lines (7a, 7b), thus constituting a projection (8) forming a pickup shovel. Advantageously, said projection (8) forming a pickup shovel has a thinned rim (9),

  favoring the collection of animal excrement.

  In the embodiment described, said structure (1) has lateral precut lines (4a, 4b) extending beyond the lower lateral edge of said precut (5), said edge being defined by said precut line (4c ). In this way, the folding of the lower part of said structure (1) along said folding lines (7a, 7b) forms, simultaneously with said projection (8) forming pickup shovel, a projection (10) returning inside said

bag (2).

  Said projection (10) thus formed is intended to facilitate the insertion of animal excrement, which is pushed by said element (E),

the interior of said bag (2).

  In a variant of the invention, said precut lines (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) are configured so as not to extend beyond said bottom edge of said precut (5). Only said projection (8) forming

  pickup shovel constitutes said structure (1).

  In another variant of the invention, said structure (1) is formed to include only said projection (10) intended to facilitate the insertion of

  animal droppings in said bag (2).

  The system according to the invention has the advantage of being a fully biodegradable single-use system. To do this, said structure (1) is preferably made of a rigid or semi-rigid material,

such as cardboard.

  In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said material is unbleached cardboard

  fully biodegradable and recyclable.

  Said bag (2), fixed on said structure (1),

  is also made from biodegradable material.

  Said bag (2) could for example be made of paper,

  plastic, or any other biodegradable material.

  In the embodiment described above, said element (E) intended to push animal faeces into said bag (2) constitutes the opening (12) of said structure (1) through which the owner of

  the animal returns the excrement to said bag (2).

  But it is of course obvious that said precut (5) constituting said element (E) can also be disposed on all or part of one of the edges (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) of

said structure (1).

  The invention is described in the foregoing by way of example. It is understood that the person skilled in the art is able to produce different variants of the invention

  without going beyond the scope of the patent.

Claims (12)

  1. Structure (1) intended for the collection of animal waste, characterized in that said structure (1) comprises a pre-cut (5) defining a removable element (E) intended to push animal waste into said bag (2) by an opening (12) from said structure (1).   2. Structure (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that said element (E) constitutes the opening (12) of said structure (1) by which animal excrement is pushed inside said bag (2). 3. Structure (1) according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that said element   (E) has a gripping area (6).   4. Structure (1) according to any one of   claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said   structure (1) has at least one fold line making it possible to constitute an overhang (8) forming a pickup shovel. 5. Structure (1) according to any one of   claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said   structure (1) has at least one fold line making it possible to form a projection (10) of said structure (1) directed towards the inside of said bag (2), said projection (10) making it possible to facilitate the insertion of the droppings animals in said bag (2).   6. Structure (1) according to any one of   claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said   structure (1) comprises at least one fold line making it possible to form an element which has a projection (8) directed towards the outside of said bag (2) so as to form a pickup shovel and a projection (10) directed towards the inside said bag (2) so as to facilitate the insertion of animal faeces into said bag (2).   7. Structure (1) according to claim 4 or claim 6, characterized in that said advanced (8) forming pickup shovel has an edge (9) thinned so as to promote the collection of animal excrement. 8. Structure (1) according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that said   structure (1) has a gripping area (11).   9. System intended for the collection of dog excrement comprising said structure (1) according to   any one of the preceding claims, said   system further comprising a bag (2) having a   open end fixed to said structure (1).   10. System according to claim 9,   characterized in that said system is biodegradable.   11. System according to claim 9 or claim 10, characterized in that said structure (1) is made of cardboard.   12. System according to any one of   claims 9 to 11, characterized in that said bag (2) is made of paper.
