Abstract

The laundry drier consists of a base with fixed (7) and deployable (6) feet and a hollow vertical support (1) containing an extending shaft (3). The support and shaft have through apertures (11) to receive hook-shaped shanks (4) on detachable drying racks (2). The shaft can be raised or lowered with the aid of a cord threaded through the support. The different components can be made from plastic and assembled by the purchaser with no need for tools.

Description

The present invention relates to a multifunction device enabling

  both to dry clothes and to put them away by eliminating certain steps related to storage. Currently the usual methods of drying and storing linen have several parts: it must be hung, then, once dry, it must be removed from the drying system, then often it is stored in baskets, then ironed , then fold it, then put it away knowing that storing the laundry in the baskets does not

  do not facilitate ironing because the laundry is often wrinkled.

  The device according to the invention makes it possible to eliminate some of these steps and to facilitate that of ironing, since one no longer has to remove the laundry from the support where it is extended, the laundry is no longer folded and it is no longer stored in the baskets so it's a lot

less wrinkled.

  The device according to the invention is formed of a self-supporting central support in a vertical position called a tower (1) pierced with openings (11) superimposed on each other in which are nested linen drying supports called

modules (2).

  These modules (2) are of various shapes depending on the linen, and removable so that they can be held in two positions, horizontally to allow the linen to dry as on a conventional drying rack and vertically to store it in a wardrobe with the linen which has dried above, which avoids removing the laundry from its support,

  store in basket, crumple and fold it.

  These modules (2) are equipped with a protruding end piece (4) forming a body in a coherent manner with the spreading part (5) of the latter; in addition, the endpiece is equipped with an integrated hook (10) surmounted by a retaining stop (9) preventing the

  module to exit the tower alone by counterweight effect.

  The end pieces (4) are compatible by their shapes with the openings (11) which pass through the tower (1) right through, so as to come to fit therein and consequently maintain the modules (2) attached thereto by horizontal position perpendicular to

the tower (1).

  When the laundry is dry, the module (2) is removed by lifting it slightly so that the stop (9) by counterweight effect does not hamper the disengagement of the end piece (4) of the module (2) and hang this last on a hanging bar through the

  integrated hook (10) thus putting the module (2) in a vertical position.

  The tower (1), meanwhile, is hollow, allowing it to receive within it

  another small sliding tower called extension (3).

  The extension (3) can exit or enter the tower (1) through the opening (18) located

at the top of the latter.

  The extension can receive the modules (2) because it has the same openings

(11) superimposed.

  To raise the extension, pull on a cord (14) which starts from the bottom of the extension (3), then runs along an internal groove (13) of the tower (1) to slide at its top, then descend to the outside. of the tower to slide again into an opening (15 and 16) provided at the bottom of the tower on the outside, this goes back and forth from the cord thus making a pulley effect. The cord (14) is provided with a handle

(17) facilitating traction.

  The descent of the extension (3) is done by weightlessness.

  The extension (3) is held in the high position by fitting a module (2) positioned in the tower (1) and consequently in the extension (3)

  openings (11) thereof corresponding.

  The tower and the extension are also provided with a system for adjusting the height of the placement of the modules (2) allowing the spacing of the latter to be adjusted according to the size of the laundry extended, this adjustment is made by the multitude of openings (11) superimposed on the tower and the extension, giving as much

  possible anchorage points for modules.

  The tower self-carrying system (1) consists of a base consisting of a fixed foot (7) integrated into the tower and a movable foot (6) which pivots to stand perpendicular to the first and thus form a stabilizing cross. For storage, simply rotate the foot (6) so that it comes to be stored under the foot (7) in the same direction, this being possible thanks to the central interlocking system of the

  two feet, which is cylindrical (12).

  The modules (2) all have the same tip system (4), but their different surfaces and forms of drying, depending on the linen to be hung, to facilitate

  handling, storage and gaining drying space.

  The basic module has a classic bar grid shape (Fig. 3) to extend

  any laundry on the bars.

  The hanger holder module (Fig. 5 and 6) has the shape of a branch (20) pierced with holes

  (21) in which hangers fit.

  The branch (20) makes an angle with the end piece (4) so that the hangers are all in the vertical position when the module is hung in a wardrobe, the branch (20) allowing, thanks to the angle, not to have the hangers one above the

  others, but slightly offset.

  The small laundry module (Fig. 4) looks like a grid fitted with lugs on which the small laundry is threaded, thus avoiding the clothespins. These pins are oriented towards the end piece (4) so that the laundry does not fall out when the module

is hung in a wardrobe.

  The different parts of the assembly are designed to be made of plastic, the assembly of the assembly requiring no tools, everything is

  making by nesting by the client.
