Abstract

The invention concerns a sealing top for a liquefied petroleum gas cylinder formed by a cap, comprising a top wall (1) extended by a skirt (2). A tubular portion (3), having a common axis (XX') with the cap (2), starts from the top wall (3) and flares downwards. A protuberance (4) is provided on the skirt (2) inner surface.

Description

The present invention relates to capsules.

  sealing and, more particularly, capsules intended to seal the valve

  bottles of liquefied petroleum gas.

  The invention relates to a capsule which seals, the opening of which is carried out in a simple and easy manner and which is mounted on the valve by

simple interlocking.

  The capsule according to the invention is formed of a cap which comprises an upper wall extended by a skirt. A tubular part, on the same axis as the cap, comes from the inner face of the upper wall and opens downwards. There is a projection, for example a rib, on the inside of the skirt. This rib, which can also be replaced by protrusions, preferably distributed regularly around the periphery of the inner face of the skirt, comes behind an outer rim of the valve and thus ensures that, even if gas leaks and tends to repel the capsule, it is retained. The leaking gas comes inside the tubular part, since the latter is open downwards and pushes back the lateral surface of the part

  tubular to the adjacent wall of the valve, which ensures sealing.

  Preferably, the skirt flares down, which allows

  more easily snap on the protrusion.

  To disengage the projection, it suffices to give the cap a movement having a radial component, so that the cap rocks and disengages. The force to be applied for the release is so small

  that it is within the reach of any regular user.

  According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the skirt is extended downwards, on the one hand, over part of the lower edge of the skirt

  by a tongue which results therefrom, and, on the other hand, on a second part of the lower edge of the skirt, larger than the first part, by a band connected to the lower edge of the skirt by a first line of least resistance to the tear. This band serves as a tamper-evident band. The cap cannot be disengaged until the strip has been torn off. Preferably, the tongue connects the skirt to a ring. Even when the strip is removed, the cap remains, if not snapped on, at least held on the valve in a position where it tends to return automatically due to the elasticity of the tongue, the entire capsule preferably being lo plastic material. The capsule thus protects the valve from dust, snow, water, heat, sun, sand and other deposits of solid matter. Preferably, the lower edge of the strip is connected to the ring by a second line of least resistance to tearing. This second line of least resistance to tearing constitutes an additional fixing of the strip and prevents it from coming off when, inadvertently or by

  accident, the first line of least resistance to tearing is torn.

  As shown in the figures, the plastic capsule is formed of a cap, which comprises an upper wall 1 extended downwards by a skirt 2 which widens downwards. A tubular part 3, of the same axis XX 'as the cap, comes from the underside of the upper wall 3 and opens downwards. A rib 4 going all around the skirt 2 is provided

  on the inside of it.

  The skirt 2 is extended downwards, on the one hand, on a part of the lower edge of the skirt by a tongue 5 which results therefrom, and, on the other hand, on a second part of the lower edge of the skirt, which is larger than the first part, by a strip 6 connected to the lower edge of the skirt 2 by a first line 7 of lower tear resistance, formed under the

  form of a series of equidistant studs.

  The tongue 5 connects the skirt 2 to a ring 8 of larger diameter than that of the lower edge of the skirt. The lower edge of the strip 6 is connected

  to the ring 8 by a second line 9 of lower resistance to tearing.

  The capsule snaps through the rib 4 on the valve of a gas cylinder. In this position, it seals even if the valve leaks. To release the valve, the user detaches the tamper-evident band 6, then disengages the rib 2. The opening of the valve can then be released, by tilting the cover relative to the tongue 5 serving as a hinge. When we no longer want to take gas from the bottle, we let the cap 2 return, due to the elasticity of the tab 5, on the valve, which protects it from snow, water, from heat, sun, frost and

solid matter such as sand.

  1. Sealing capsule formed by a cap, which comprises an upper wall (1) extended by a skirt (2), characterized by a tubular part (3), of the same axis (XX ') as the cap, coming from the lower face of the upper wall (3) and opening downwards and by a projection (4) on the face inside of the skirt (2).   2. Capsule according to claim 1, characterized in that the projection is a rib.   3. Capsule according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the skirt flares down.   4. Capsule according to one of the preceding claims, characterized   in that the skirt (2) is extended downwards, on the one hand, on a part of the lower edge of the skirt by a tongue (5) which results therefrom, and, on the other hand, on a second part from the lower edge of the skirt, larger than the first part, by a strip (6) connected to the lower edge of the skirt (2) by   a first line (7) of lower tear resistance.   5. Capsule according to claim 4, characterized in that the   tongue (5) connects the skirt (2) to a ring (8).   6. Capsule according to claim 5, characterized in that the lower edge of the strip (6) is connected to the ring (8) by a second line (9) of   less resistance to tearing.   7. Capsule according to one of the preceding claims, characterized   in that it is made of plastic.
