Abstract
Description
' invention relates to a device for reinforcing the support base
In patent deriandYe 97-08620, there is described a paper-based container comprising a front face a rear face and a bellows; the latter is produced in a sheet thinner than the front and rear sides to allow it to be deployed: the walls of the bellows are fixed to the front and rear faces along a surface starting from the support base of the container to go up to a "U" shaped curve delimiting the profile of the bottom of the container when the latter is deployed lower part of the bottom of the container then being located at a distance of the order of 5 to 10 rrimm from the support base; under these conditions, when the container is deployed in abutment on its support base: i, it rests essentially on the end of the front and rear faces and the holding of this support base depends in particular on the rigidity of the rratériau constituting the front and rear faces reinforced with a paper thickness constituting the bellows; in use, we see that depending on the container load, we can observe a rf rrlbage one of the walls. in its part located between the support base and the line in the shape of "U" where it is fi} 'ée to the bellows, which unbalances the container; it is therefore necessary to reinforce this zone In the process described in the cited patent application, one of the faces at its base can be reinforced by adding on one of them a narrow strip of paper from the manufacture of the bellows ; under these conditions the weight at the square edge of the wall constituting the support base is within a range going from 65 to 80 grarrmmes per meter because re for one face and from 85: to 110 grarrmmrries per square meter at vc) from its support base, for the other side, when it is lined with the narrow strip of paper. We can obviously increase the thickness of paper constituting the sides of the container to improve the rigidity of the base
mrais alors on en augmente le coût de mraniêre prohibitive. but then we increase the cost of prohibitive mraniêre.
The object of the invention is to propose an improvement of the process described in the cited patent patent allowing to strengthen the base of the container without increasing the thickness
The container is made from three strips of figure.1 paper which are either coated over their entire surface with heat-sealable material, or coated with glue at the areas which must be bonded together. There is a lower strip 1 to make the rear side 4 (figure.2) of the container, an upper strip 2 (figure.1) to make the front side 5 (figure.2) of the container and between them an intermediate strip 3 (Figure.1) folded to form a sheath and make the bellows of the container; after assembling the strips 1, 2, 3, to make opposing containers two by two by their support base 6 (FIG. 2), the latter are separated at their support base 6 by an axial cutting of the strips 1, 2 and 3 assembled and at the lateral level by a cross section of the latter. In what follows we will assume that the two containers connected by their base are identical,
mais ils peuvent aussi tre de hauteur différente. but they can also be of different height.

The invention consists in making, on each of the lower 1 and upper 2 bands, two longitudinal folds 7 and 8 (FIG. 3) lying symmetrically opposite, on either side of the axial line 9 and 10 (FIG. 1) lower 1 and upper 2 bands, so as to form a profile in the shape of a dovetail comprising two folds 11 and 12 facing each other and two folds in opposition 13 and 14; these folds 7 and 8 are preferably made so that the dovetail is turned from the inner side so as not to be visible from the outside of the container; these folds 7 and 8 are of width 15 and 16 preferably identical and preferably substantially equal to the distance 17 (FIG. 2) separating the support base 6 from the lower part 18 of the bottom 19 of the container when it is deployed ; the edges of the folds 11 and 12 (FIG. 3) which face each other are one to two millimeters apart. There are many known means for achieving this longitudinal folding in the form of a dovetail according to FIG. 3; one way to achieve this is to use a folding device 39 (Figure.1) consisting of slides, without this example being limiting; this folding device 39 consists of a central slide 20 (FIG. 4 and FIG. 1), of a width 38 corresponding substantially to the width of the strip portion 27 (FIG. 3) situated between the opposing folds 13 and 14 is placed on the lower strip 1 (FIG. 1) and upper strip 2, on the side outside the future container, oriented coaxially with the corresponding strip; the folding device 39 then consists of two lateral slides 21 and 22 (figure 4) placed inside the corresponding strip 1 (figure 1) or 2 on either side of the central slide have a shape which varies as a function of the distance considered from the origin 23 or 24 of the lateral slide 21 or 22 considered; they gradually take a "C" shape in order to bring the central part of the strip to cover the wings 25 (FIG. 4) of the central slide 20; it remains for example to pass the lower strips 1 and upper 2 (Figure.1) between two pressure rollers 26 to mark the folds. The strip portion 27 (FIG. 3 and FIG. 5) joining the two opposing folds 13 and 14 is fixed to the sheath formed by the intermediate strip 3; the strip portions 40 and 28, located on either side of the axis of the lower or upper strip 29 (FIG. 5) concerned, are applied against the latter at least by their edges: on the one hand by the folds '11 and 12 (figure.5) which face each other and on the other hand by the intermediate strip 3, which serves to form the bellows, which is also fixed directly to the corresponding lower or upper strip 29 beyond the folds in opposition 13 and 14; it may be that, according to certain dimensions, the opposing folds 13 and 14 open out inside the lower part 18 (FIG. 2) of the bottom 19 of the container and are therefore not held in place by the fixing on the intermediate strip 3 which is no longer fixed in this zone on the lower or upper strip 29 (FIG. 5) concerned; but it is a small proportion of the support base length 6 (FIG. 2) which is not fixed, which is not of consequence; all the more so when, when using for the manufacture of the container, lower or upper strips 29 (FIG. 5) coated over their entire surface with heat-sealable material, each portion of strip 40 and 28 is heat-sealed over all or part of its surface to the corresponding lower or upper strip 29. Under these conditions, after longitudinal and transverse cutting of the strips assembled together, containers are obtained, the area of which adjacent to the support base 6 (FIG. 6), of the front and rear faces, comprises a reinforcement device 30 comprising three times the thickness 32 of the paper forming the faces 31 of the container and once at least one thickness 33 of the paper forming the bellows; this gives a weight per square meter in this zone 30 situated between and 180 grams per square meter for one side and X65 and 210 grams per square meter for the other side. Under these conditions, a support base 6 is obtained which no longer flexes under the weight of the load of the container. In a variant of the invention, the lateral edges 34 (FIG. 1) of the upper 2 and lower I bands are folded over a width ranging from five to ten millimeters on the inner side and they are fixed by welding or gluing to make them less sharp. upper edges 35 and 36 (FIG. 2) of the container; the side edges can be folded thanks to a folding device composed of a slide similar to the one we have
préalablement décrite et qui est couramment utilisé. previously described and which is commonly used.
