Abstract

The rucksack has an elastic cord which slides in two sets of opposite loops on the side of the bag, or on its back surface. It is tightened to compress the inner volume of the bag. The ends of the cord (11,12) are gripped in position by a cylindrical block (15) and a push button (16). The block is held in a loop of fabric (18) which is fixed to the bag. The ends of the cords pass through a hole (20) in this and the push button projects beyond the open side of the loop.
