Abstract

The bag is equipped with a strap 2 for slinging over the carrier's shoulder. The strap 2 is secured to the bag at a high point 3 and at a low point 4. The position of the low point 4 is adjustable longitudinally with respect to the bag and the strap 2 is also secured to the bag at an intermediate point 7 with respect to which it is capable of sliding 8. Description

The present invention relates to bags for transport by a

  person of canes and / or other accessories for the practice of golf. This kind of bag is in the general form of an elongated tube, approximately cylindrical, to receive the rods, and usually offering, on its outer surface, pockets allowing

  to shelter other accessories useful for the practice of this sport.

  This kind of bag, which is used to transport at least the usual instruments for golfers, and over distances which are far from negligible, must be as practical as possible, to avoid any exaggerated fatigue to the wearer and the devolution which can for the practitioner of this sport. The portage is usually done for small

  displacements by a carrying handle, and for larger displacements

  cements, by means of a strap secured at a high point and a low point

  of the bag, located on the same generator of the approximate cylinder as cons-

  Another possibility of varying the length of the strap -2- by degrees, is also offered by the patent GB i 315 943, which avoids

  the use of a conventional loop.

  A more elaborate adjustment device is disclosed in US Pat. No. 2,707,009. A first low strap is subject to the low point and to an intermediate point on the bag, and a second high strap is fixed to the high point and to an intermediate point of the lower strap by a pin buckle device which can be moved both relative to the lower strap by modifying the position of the point of attachment of the upper strap on the lower strap, and also movable along the upper strap allowing vary the length, which can be varied

  also by a carried buckle, this one, by the only high strap.

  In all the examples which have just been mentioned, and whatever their degree of elaboration in the search for an optimal balance of the bag on the shoulder of the wearer, there is always at least one conventional loop, or an equivalent, and which, apart from its unattractive appearance, always remains more or less likely to cling incidentally to the wearer's clothes, and leaves a dead part of the strap (between the loop and the free end of the strap) which creates perfectly unnecessary embarrassment and can therefore lead to the practitioner's devolution in the event of an incident

  The present invention aims to free the wearer from all the drawbacks implied by the known state of the art which has just been mentioned, while ensuring the desired balance of the bag for its transport.

  The drawings show a golf bag fitted in accordance with the invention with an adjustable carrying strap device. It is presented in the usual approximately cylindrical form to which at least one external pocket 1 is attached, as is usual. For the

  of the bag, in any known manner, in particular by a carabiner device, for example.
