Abstract

Device for mounting a glazing (10) inside an open rebate (3) formed in the profiles (2), in particular metal, of a support frame (1), in which the rebate has a flat bottom (4) on which the glazing is applied, this bottom comprising at least one receiving and immobilizing groove (24) for a bearing plate (15) of this glazing, glued to the latter by means of an adhesive material (28) deposited on this plate prior to the installation of the glazing, characterized in that the plate (15) is formed by means of a plastic material and comprises attachment means (20, 21) in the groove (24), arranged to allow the extraction of the plate out thereof, following a suitable pulling force exerted substantially perpendicular to the bottom (4) of the rebate (3).

Description

The present invention relates to a device for mounting a glazing

  inside the frame of a door frame, window or facade element of a building, this frame being formed by means of profiles, generally metallic, forming the sides of this frame and joining at the corners thereof. The glazing, consisting of a single glass panel or, where appropriate, two parallel spacer panels along their periphery, delimiting between them a closed space where an insulating air space prevails, is attached to the frame by being housed in the opening thereof, inside an open rebate provided in the profiles which form the frame, this glazing coming to be applied against the bottom of this rebate which extends parallel to the plane of the glazed panel and which is bordered laterally by a return perpendicular to this bottom. Thickness shims are advantageously arranged between the flat return bordering the rebate and the peripheral side of the glazing to ensure proper centering of the latter relative to the frame. To allow the glazing to be held in place, various solutions have already been envisaged in the art, consisting for example of stapling or blocking the glazing by external clips engaging the profile, or even immobilizing this glazing by means of a piece called glazing bead, fixed on the

  frame in front of the glazing and coming to bear on the edge of it

  Ci to apply it against the bottom of the rebate.

  Another solution implemented more recently, consists in using a connecting bar, immobilized before the installation of the glazing in the bottom of the rebate, in particular in a longitudinal groove formed in this bottom, this metal bar being produced in a material compatible with a putty deposited on the strip to ensure the bonding of the glass thereon, this solution being known in the art under the term of VEC for "exterior glazing

glue".

  These known solutions have certain drawbacks, however, resulting either from the operations necessary for the installation and the fixing of the blocking elements of the panel.

  glazed, or, in the case of VEC, the time necessary to ensure sufficient polymerization of the adhesive sealant, the latter also requiring additional cleaning and weaving after application of this sealant against the bar. In addition, still in the latter case, when the glazing breaks, requiring its replacement, it is essential to also change the metal bars ensuring the connection with the panel, which requires their complete dismantling and

  is a long and delicate operation.

  The present invention relates to a device for mounting a glazed panel in a support frame, which avoids these drawbacks, in particular allowing a simple and rapid replacement of deteriorated glazing, this device being able to be easily installed without requiring a time comparable to that required for the replacement of the strips, in particular

in a "VEC" set.

  To this end, the device considered, for mounting a glazing inside an open rebate formed in the profiles in particular metal of a support frame, in which the rebate has a flat bottom on which is applied the glazing, this bottom comprising at least one receiving and immobilizing groove for a support plate for this glazing, bonded thereto by means of an adhesive material deposited on this plate before the installation of the glazing, is characterized in that the plate is made by means of a plastic material and comprises means for hooking in the groove, arranged to allow the extraction of the plate out of it, following an effort of appropriate wrench exercised

  substantially perpendicular to the bottom of the rebate.

  Preferably, the plate is made of a thermoplastic material, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polycarbonate or the like. In addition and according to various variants, the adhesive material consists of a hot-melt adhesive,

epoxy, polyurethane or others.

  According to a particular characteristic, the plate comprises a flat base, with two legs projecting under this

  base, suitable for rotationally entering the groove, the opening thereof

  ci by which the plate is introduced being delimited by two lateral edges under which the ends of the legs engage, which advantageously have a profile curved towards the outside. According to another characteristic, the flat base also comprises two lateral tabs, external to the groove, one of which is in contact with a flat return, perpendicular to the bottom of the rebate receiving the glazing, and the other of which rests against the surface of it, these tabs forming

  respectively an acoustic barrier and a seal.

  Other characteristics of a device for holding a glazing in a window support frame or the like, established in accordance with the invention, will also appear through

  the following description of an exemplary embodiment, given to

  indicative and not limiting, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figures 1 to 4 are schematic views, in longitudinal section of a part of the frame intended to receive a glazing held in place therein by means of a collage plate, these figures

  successively illustrating the various steps implemented.

  In these figures, the reference i denotes as a whole a window or door frame, constituted by means of metal profiles 2, extending along each of the sides of this frame, usually of rectangular shape, and arranged to join together in chassis angles, preferably

  by being cut obliquely according to a so-called miter cut.

  In the drawings, only one of the four profiles 2 appears, which

thus form the chassis.

  These profiles are generally obtained by extrusion and have a particular profile which does not directly matter to the invention and which it is therefore not necessary to describe in detail here, except to specify that each of them is designed to present a rebate open towards the inside of the chassis, this rebate comprising a bottom 4 and a flat edge 5 perpendicular to this bottom. Advantageously, the profile 2 may include an external extension 6, constituting what is known as a beating, the latter being provided with a hooking stud 7 for a joint 8 capable of coming to bear on the frame. or the masonry 9 of the facade or wall in

  which fits chassis 1 (see Figure 4).

  This chassis is also intended to receive inside the rebate 3 a glazing 10, which is preferably constituted by means of two glazed panels 11 and 12, mutually parallel and maintained with a spacing given by a spacer 13, which extends along the periphery of the panels, the assembly delimiting between them a space 14 o prevails

an insulating air space (Figure 3).

  It should be noted that the production of the glazing 10 by means of two parallel panels is not necessary for the implementation of the invention, this glazing being able to be formed from a

only one panel in particular.

  In accordance with the invention, the glazing 10 is designed to be placed inside the rebate 3 of the profiles 2 of the frame 1, in particular by coming to be disposed in the latter parallel to the bottom 4 of this rebate and consequently, perpendicular to the rim 5, as also shown in Figures 3 and 4, this glazing being held in position by means of a bonding plate 15, including Figures i and 2

  more directly illustrate the structure and installation.

  The plate 15, made of thermoplastic material, in particular polyvinyl chloride or polycarbonate, but without these examples being limiting, comprises a flat base 16, provided at its ends with two legs, respectively 17 and 18, whose own opposite ends to the base, 20 and 21, are directed outward relative to the base, these legs

  having come from manufacturing with the latter.

  Advantageously, the plate 15 also comprises, in line with the tabs 17 and 18, thin tongues 22 and 23, which are located substantially, on each side, in the extension of

on either side of the base 16.

  Each profile 2 also comprises, in its flat bottom 4, parallel to the glazing 10, a groove 24, the opening of which is delimited, above this bottom, by two re-entrant flanges 25 and 26 respectively, facing one on the other on each side of the groove, these edges being provided so that, when the plate 15 is placed in this groove, as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the ends 20 and 21, due to the relative flexibility of the plastic material which constitutes this wafer, engage under these edges thereby immobilizing the latter against the bottom 4 of the rebate 3, the base 16 extending substantially parallel to

this background.

  The mounting of the glazing 10 in the profiles 2 of the frame 1,

  can easily be deduced from the attached drawings.

  In FIG. 1, before the glazing is put in place, each profile 2 is associated with a plate 15 placed in the groove 24, preferably by engaging one of the ends 21 for example, of the tab 18 of this plate under the corresponding rim 26, by making it undergo a slight rotation around the latter, until the other tab 17 comes to bend slightly in line with the opposite rim 25, then engages its end 20 under the latter, the plate 15 being

  then immobilized in the rebate 3.

  In Figure 2, the reference 27 schematically illustrates a device for depositing on the surface of the base 16 opposite the groove 24, an appropriate amount of glue or an appropriate adhesive material 28, over the entire length of the wafer. This glue can be of any kind suitable for producing a rapid connection between the plastic material of the wafer 15 and the glass of the glazing; in particular, we can

  advantageously use a hot-melt adhesive, epoxy, polyurethane or others.

  In the next phase, shown in Figure 3, the glazing 10 is brought into the rebate 3 of the frame 1, so that one of its panels, for example the panel 12 directed towards the bottom 4 of this rebate, comes press against the base 16 where the glue has been previously deposited, thus joining, after polymerization, the profile and the glazing. During the assembly thus obtained, it is observed that the tongues 22 and 23 which extend the base 16, projects beyond the groove 24 outside of the latter and comes respectively to bear, for the tongue 22 against the surface of the glazed panel 12, and for the tongue 23 against the return 5 perpendicular to the bottom 4 of the

profile 2.

  The glazing 10 can therefore no longer pivot and separate from the frame, the latter can then be easily straightened so as to be placed in a vertical position, as shown in FIG. 4, the sealing during assembly being advantageously achieved by putting in place, between the peripheral edge of this glazing and the end of the return 5 of the profile 2, a seal 30 of suitable profile, of which Figure 4 illustrates a

particular example.

  This produces a device for mounting a glazing in a support frame, of very simple and inexpensive design,

  very easy to install in the chassis.

  The plastic plate has the essential advantage, in the event of breakage of the glazing, of being able to be easily replaced with the latter, without it being necessary to carry out any particular intervention on the frame itself, the plate being able be extracted from the groove in which it is held, by exerting a sufficient tensile force, perpendicular to the direction of the bottom to make the tabs of the support escape the edges of the groove, the damaged wafer, remaining stuck on the glazing, able

  be immediately replaced by another new plate.

  - The invention also has the advantage of providing the assembly with a double barrier, respectively of sealing and acoustic, thanks to the tongues 22 and 23, which are supported, for one against the glazed panel applied to the wafer, and for

  the other against the vertical return of the rebate.

  Of course, it goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment more specifically described above with reference to the accompanying drawings; on the contrary, she embraces

all variants.

Claims (4)

  1 - Device for mounting a glazing (10) inside an open rebate (3) formed in the profiles (2) in particular metallic of a support frame (1), in which the rebate comprises a flat bottom (4) on which the glazing is applied, this bottom comprising at least one receiving and immobilizing groove (24) for a support plate (15) of this glazing, bonded thereto via of an adhesive material (28) deposited on this wafer prior to the installation of the glazing, characterized in that the wafer (15) is formed by means of a plastic material and comprises attachment means (20, 21 ) in the groove (24), arranged   to allow the extraction of the wafer out of it   ci, following an appropriate tearing force exerted substantially perpendicular to the bottom (4) of the rebate (3). 2 Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the plate (15) is made of a thermoplastic material, polyvinyl chloride (PVC),   polycarbonate or other equivalent material.   3 - Device according to one of claims i or 2,   characterized in that the adhesive material (28) consists of   hot melt adhesive, epoxy, polyurethane or others.   4 - Device according to any one of claims 1 to   3, characterized in that the plate (15) comprises a flat base (16), with two legs (17, 18) projecting under this base, adapted to penetrate into the groove (24), the opening of the latter by which the plate is introduced being delimited by two lateral edges (25, 26) under which the ends (20, 21) of the legs engage, which advantageously have a profile curved outwards.   - Device according to any one of claims 1 to   4, characterized in that the flat base (16) also comprises two lateral tabs, external to the groove (24), one of which (23) is in contact with a flat return (5), perpendicular to the bottom (4) of the rebate (3) receiving the glazing (10), and the other (22) of which rests against the surface of the latter, these tongues respectively forming a barrier   acoustic and a gasket.
