Abstract

The handle (2) has an automatic locking position when it is encastred in a housing (6) in the rose. It is unlocked when it is withdrawn from the housing. A bolt (11) engages in a groove (12) in the spindle (13) of the handle (2) in order to lock the handle. The bolt is automatically placed in the groove and withdrawn from it by the action of a key in the lock. There is an extendable connector between the handle and the bolt spindle (15) consisting of an assembly of telescopic tubes (16,17,18) having longitudinal grooves (19,20). The handle is locked relative to its spindle and the action of the key in its lock is transmitted to the bolt by a system of rods. The rod system comprises a driver (7) ended by a lug (8) and a control rod (9) mounted on a spring (14) having a slot (10) in which the lug engages. The control rod carries the bolt at its end.
