Abstract

The spectacle frame consists of a front portion (1) with two lateral apertures (2) which can each receive a demountable arm (5). At least one additional aperture (3) is formed in the edge surface of the frame front, to receive one of the arms to support the frame as a lorgnette. The connection between the arms and the frame may be by means of complementary screw threads formed on the ends (6) of the arms and the inner wall surfaces of the apertures in the frame. The arms may include hinges (7) at an intermediate point of their length, and in the lorgnette mode the arms may be replaced by a solid shaft (8) with a similar threaded end portion.

Description

The present invention relates to a pair of glasses which can be dismantled and transformed into a face-to-hand.

Today, the use of glasses is very widespread and face-to-hand is less so.

However, when a person wants to use their pair of glasses very briefly, for example, to read a menu or a passage from a newspaper, or when the ears or the nose cannot wear the glasses, for example at the hairdresser of a shampoo or a cut, a face-to-hand is more practical and even, almost essential.

Depending on the case, a hand-held or a pair of glasses is therefore better but, if a person wants to have both, he is traditionally obliged to have both and therefore two pairs of glasses.

The object of the present invention is to make available to users, a pair of glasses which can be turned into a face-to-hand, the whole being removable, transport can be easily done, possibly in a flat case.

The same face and therefore a single pair of glasses for two different uses, face-to-hand and pair of glasses, therefore represents an economy and an ease of use and transport.

We go from one to the other by dismantling or reassembling the branches. A third branch without hinge, called rod "in the document, is provided so that one can hold the face rigidly.

The user can therefore use the face with its two arms and without a stick, as a pair of glasses. He can also use the face with his wand without the branches, as face-to-hand.

The invention is described below and illustrated, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing:
The inner side of the face (1) contains two holes (2), located on the temporal side of each side of the face, each containing a thread.

The face has another orifice (3) in its thickness, on the side of the right glass, also containing a thread of the same size. This orifice is used to receive the rod (8) to use the face-to-hand face.

We can place the third hole (3) on the side of the left lens in order to be able to use the face-to-hand face by holding it with the left hand or have four holes in total: one hole (2) on each temporal side of the face, an opening under the right glass (3), to hold the face by the right hand and one under the left glass (3), to hold the face by the left hand.

The branches (5), each equipped with a hinge (7), comprise at their end, a screw (6) which is screwed in the threads placed in the orifices (2) of the face and the strip (8) , which has no hinge also includes a screw (6) which screws into one of the orifices (3) placed in the thickness of the face and containing a thread. These screws and no screws are positioned in such a way that the branches screwed fully into the face are in a plane perpendicular to that which contains the glasses (4). the screws and the threads will be large enough so that there is no play.

The part of the branches between the screw and the hinge (10) may be cylindrical in shape in order to facilitate tightening and loosening of the branch.

Various mechanisms may be provided to carry out the functions described above. The one, formed by screws on the branches and the rod and the threads in the face, is just one example.

Means may be provided to hold the face between the fingers without a wand, this for the use of men, in particular, who might find it too feminine to use a face-to-hand held by a wand. Such a means may be constituted, for example, by cavities (9) hollowed out in the material of the glasses on one of the sides of the face, front and back or on both sides, right and left, of the face, front and back. The face, branches removed, will be better held between the thumb and forefinger. Figure 3 shows the face, side view, and the cavities. On models with cavities, the two additional holes placed under the glasses, in the thickness of the face, may disappear. Indeed, the use of the wand is no longer imperative.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown but extends, on the contrary, to all variants of shapes and dimensions and to any material. For example, plastic may be the material used to manufacture this pair of glasses that can be used in front of the hand.

Claims (6)

1) Pair of glasses, transformable into hand-face, characterized in that it consists of a face (1), of the two usual holes (2) placed on each temporal side of the face allowing to receive branches (5) removable, but also of an orifice (3) located in the thickness of the face, which makes it possible to receive one of the branches or a rod (8), branch without hinge, to use the face in front hand. 2) Pair of glasses convertible face-to-hand, according to claim 1, characterized in that the third orifice (3) may be located under the right glass or under the left glass. 3) Pair of glasses convertible in hand-face according to claim 1, characterized in that the orifices (2) of the face contain threads which can receive the screws (6) fixed at the end of the branches (5) of glasses and wand (8). The screws (6) and no screws are mounted so that the plane containing the branches is perpendicular to the plane containing the glasses. 4) Pair of glasses transformable face-to-hand, according to claim 1, with two cavities (9) on the front side and back side on the right side for a right-handed, left for a left-handed. 5) Pair of glasses convertible in face-to-hand, according to claim 1, with four cavities (9) on the face, right and left, side front and back. 6) Pair of glasses transformable face-to-hand, according to claim 1, with the part of the branches (10), between the screw and the hinge, of cylindrical shape.
