Abstract

BRUSH DRIPPING DEVICE
ADAPTABLE TO PAINTS AND THE LIKE
The invention relates to the technical sector of utensils and materials for painting work.

The use of brushes always poses certain difficulties and constraints during painting work, and users are always embarrassed to put the brushes in case of temporary work interruption. Generally, they place the brushes transversely on the paint cans which are of cylindrical, square, rectangular or other section. The brushes are still partially soaked in paint. The "bristle" part of the brushes overflows from the said pots and there is a flow of paint causing stains on the ground. Covering parts must therefore be used to avoid any deterioration of the floors. These covering parts can be either plastic strips, pieces of cardboard or the like. In addition to this drawback, if the brushes are themselves cylindrical, there may be a rolling effect and the brushes then fall to the ground, causing splashes and splashes, a multiplication of tasks. It also happens that the length of the brushes is little greater than the width or the diameter of the receptacles or cans of paint. In this case, it has been found that the brushes having a very weak seat could, in the event of impact, either fall outside or inside the receptacles, with the corresponding drawbacks.

To try to remedy these, it has been proposed, for example in Swiss patent n ° 188.682, the use of receptacle trays which are attached from the outside to the paint cans. These receptacle trays have fasteners, forming at the end of the hooks, to be inserted around the thickness of the said pots through their upper part These receptacle trays have only a function of storing the brushes to avoid their laying on the ground or across the pots with the corresponding risks of dripping. In no way are the receptacle trays adapted and designed to drain the bristles of brushes.

The aim sought after according to the invention was therefore to design a new support device adaptable to cans of paint which allows on the one hand, the positioning of one or more brushes in the non-use position, with great positioning stability and on the other hand, allowing drainage under the best conditions, avoiding any splashes of paint or other fluids outside pots.

According to a first characteristic of the invention, the brush support device is of the type comprising a bottom support plate arranged with fixing hooks, said bottom support plate extending from the front by a horizontal or inclined mesh shape. constituting on the one hand a support zone of the "bristles" part of the brushes, and on the other hand forming a scraper to allow the draining of the latter through the openings formed on the screen form, said device being disposed at the inside the paint bucket or similar receptacle.

These characteristics and others will become apparent from the following description.

In order to make the object of the invention more concrete, it is now described in a nonlimiting manner illustrated in the figures of the drawings.

The device according to the invention is represented as a whole by (1) and is made of a material advantageously made of plastic, the assembly being in one piece.

 It comprises a support plate (2) constituting the bottom and capable of coming opposite the internal face of the paint can or similar receptacle (3) of all shapes and sections. This support plate (2) is for example of rectangular, flat shape, but can be curvilinear to adapt and conform to the profile of a cylindrical paint bucket.

The backing plate has two hooked shapes (4) at the rear having a certain elastic capacity for deformation. These hooked shapes are established in a plane perpendicular to the support plate, and comprise a part forming a loop (4.1) extending downwards by a tongue (4.2) capable of projecting substantially from the lower part of the support plate.

This tongue is capable of being manipulated, by spacing, with a slight elastic deformation, by the user, to allow the introduction of the hooked shapes on the upper flange of the paint cans, the shapes and dimensions of which can vary considerably as well that it is known in the market.

Between the loop part (4.1) and the tongue (4.2) is provided a rounded area (4.3) oriented opposite the support plate and forming an anchor and support point. It is advantageously arranged, near each of the hooked shapes (4), transverse ribs (5) formed on the rear part of the support plate and whose thickness is such that they come substantially in the plane of the area in rounding (4.3) above. There is thus obtained, when positioning the device, a pinching around the thickness of the wall of the paint bucket.

In its front part, the support plate has a mesh shape (6), in a substantially perpendicular plane, advantageously horizontal but which can be substantially inclined. Laterally, said support plate is extended at its ends towards the grid by two walls (7) constituting on the one hand a means of stiffening the grid and which can also act as a stop in the position of the brushes. The grid (6) can be established in any suitable manner. There is shown, by way of nonlimiting example, a grid comprising two longitudinal spacer bars and two transverse spacer bars, secured to each other and the support plate and the side walls. Said side walls may be perpendicular or in a different angular plane with respect to the support plate. The opening section is of little importance. In one implementation, for example, they could be established with cylindrical, square or rectangular sections to support and vertically maintain the brushes, the handles of which would have complementary sections. This grid, by its spacer bars, ensures a scraper function and thus allows the dripping of the brushes. It also constitutes a sufficiently large and large support area to ensure stability by constituting a support surface of the bristles of the brushes for example, the handle part being held by the rim or flange of the paint bucket.

The advantages emerge clearly from the invention. The simplicity of the device is emphasized, its low manufacturing cost, its rapid assembly, and its adaptability to all receptacles and cans of paint.

Furthermore, the stability of the brushes is greatly increased, since the device is located inside the paint bucket, thereby substantially reducing the range of the brushes, without compromising access to the bottom of the brushes. paint cans.
