Description

The invention relates to a floor or other similar surface comprising: on the one hand, a frame formed of elements assembled together and, on the other hand, slabs held in position on said frame by a plurality of fixing members arranged beneath their undersides, preferably in two or more than two alignments, the shape of which cooperates with that of the elements of the frame.

According to a particularly interesting example of application, the invention is intended to allow the assembly and disassembly convenient, fast and without any tools, of floors or pavements of various nature such as the grounds of camping tents, swimming pool surrounds, access to the sea, sidewalks, floors of industrial premises, etc. These examples of interesting uses are not, however, limiting, the invention being able, more generally, to be used for the execution of any wall or surface that is horizontal, vertical or inclined. such as coating of walls, partitions or shelving ceilings, etc ...

We already know (FR-A-2,270,378) floors consisting of slabs whose underside is provided with pins and tenons in the form of arrow heads split in the middle and which, during the mounting of said floors engage and are blocked in longitudinal grooves which comprise framework elements constituted by suitably profiled beams. A disadvantage of this type of floor is that, once fitted, the tiles are almost completely finished, and it is necessary to break them when they have to be replaced. Another disadvantage of such floors is that, taking into account the fact that the nipples and tenons with which the slabs are provided form projections of relatively large height relative to the thickness of the latter, the stacking of said slabs, for example for storage or shipment, requires a large volume. On the other hand, stacking the slabs can cause the nipples or tenons of the lower slabs to break under the weight of the superimposed slabs.

The object of the invention is in particular to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks.

The floor according to the invention is mainly remarkable by the fact that said floor or other surface is removable, that said frame is formed of tubular elements capable of being separated, and in that the fixing members with which the slabs are provided, consist of elastic clips or clamps comprising two flexible branches arranged opposite and whose ends tend to approach under the effect of their elasticity after being separated, so as to grip said tubular elements and to allow separate said slabs from the latter, by simple pulling.

Thanks to this embodiment, the slabs can be easily and almost instantaneously fixed to the tubular framework by simple pressing and pressure. On the other hand, it is just as easy and quick to detach them from said frame, by simple traction.

According to another important characteristic of the invention, the slabs have openings extending therethrough in their thickness and opening out between the branches of the clips or elastic clamps; an opening being arranged at the right of each clip or elastic clamp, and these openings allowing the accommodation of the clips of the overlapping slabs when several slabs are stacked.

The very advantageous advantage arising from this embodiment is that the tiles can be stacked in a small footprint, without any risk of breakage of the clips or elastic clamps which fit perfectly into the openings provided in the thickness of said tiles.

These aims and characteristics and others still will become more apparent from the description which follows and from the appended drawings in which:

Reference is made to said drawings to describe an advantageous embodiment, although in no way limitative, the extent of protection being determined by the content of the claims, of the floor or other removable surface which is the subject of the invention. This floor comprises a slab 1 which is advantageously molded in one piece from any suitable plastic material having the required rigidity and a certain elasticity.

It can have a square, rectangular or other shape.

When the slabs are assigned to the execution of removable floors, their upper face preferably comprises a plurality of asperities 2, of circular or other shape, intended to constitute a non-slip surface.

The posterior face or lower face of the slab advantageously comprises crisscrossed ribs 3 and 4 intended to increase lie about its rigidity. The extreme ribs 3 'and 4' of greater thickness are arranged in line with the edges of the slab and constitute a frame or border completely surrounding the slab itself.

According to the invention, said rear face or lower face of the slab is provided with a plurality of elastic clips or clips 5 advantageously molded in one piece with said slab. According to the example illustrated, the slab comprises six elastic clips or pinches 5 extending beyond its underside 6 and distributed in three rows or alignments of two clips spaced apart by a distance 1 determining the spacing of the tubular elements parallel 7 of the frame on which said slab is intended to be positioned by simple pressing and pressure.

Each clip or elastic clamp 5 is constituted by a pair of flexible branches 5a arranged opposite and symmetrically converging, beyond said underside 6, in the direction of their free end (FIG. 4). In this way, when the slab rests on the tubular elements of the framework, the ends of the branches 5a of the clips 5 deviate from their rest position and then tighten around said elements by the effect of their elasticity. Its attachment to said frame is therefore almost instantaneous, and it is just as easy and quick to separate it from the latter, by simple traction.

In order to increase its robustness, the base of each clip or elastic clamp is constituted by a frame 8 of height identical to that of the reinforcing ribs 3 and 4 and formed, partially or totally, by said ribs; while reinforcements 9 having, for example, a notch in an arc, or other shape corresponding to the profile of the elements 7 of the frame, connects, laterally, the base of each flexible branch 5a to two parallel sides of said frame.

According to an important characteristic of the invention, the slab has a plurality of openings 10 passing through are thick and emerging between the branches 5a of elastic clips or clamps 5. The number of these openings 10, of rectangular or other shape, corresponds to that elastic clips or clips 5 and each of them is therefore arranged in line with an elastic clip or clip. In this way, when the slabs are superimposed, the elastic clips or clips 5 of a slab fit into the openings 10 of the superimposed slab (Figure 6) or underlying, depending on the direction of stacking. One thus obtains a self-centering of the tiles stacked under a reduced volume, a perfect balance of the stacking, at the same time as a very good protection of the fixing members (clips or elastic clamps 5) of said tiles. In this regard, it is observed that the elastic clamps have, on their portion extending beyond the underside 6, and on a portion of the same height delimited by the entry of the openings 10, respectively, external slopes 5b and internal 5c, identical, so as to fit perfectly. On the other hand, the portion of the elastic clamps extending beyond the underside 6 has a height greater than that of the slabs, so that, when several slabs are superimposed, the elastic clamps of a slab penetrate at the interior of the two overlapping or underlying slabs; the alignments of nested elastic clips thus constituting robust anchoring points inside the stack.

The slab according to the invention also includes tongues 11 distributed over its periphery, for example at the rate of two tongues per side. These tongues are integral with the base of the frame or border 3'-4 'of the slab. On the other hand, a notch 12 is formed, at the base of said frame, near each tongue 11, and following the latter. The notches 12 have a height and a length barely greater than those of the tongues 11 in order to allow the housing of said tongues. For this purpose, and as shown in FIG. 3, the tongues and the notches on two parallel sides of the slab have an inverted position, so that the tongues on the adjoining sides of two contiguous slabs can be housed in the notches of which are provided on said sides.

This arrangement enables reciprocal interlocking of the slabs with one another, which, in combination with the clamping exerted by the clips 5, ensures the correct tuning of said slabs on the frame 7.
