Abstract

This device allows a luminaire to be attached to a standardized connection box, in particular of the British type called "Besa-box". The body of the luminaire having a flat part (6) provided with an orifice for the passage of connection wires, the device consists essentially of an intermediate part (1) intended to be connected on the one hand to said box and on the other hand to the luminaire, this part comprising a first flat surface applied with a seal (3) to the box, a second flat surface opposite the first on which at least one flat portion of the body of the luminaire is applied, with a second seal (11), and a threaded barrel (10) with a nut (7), to apply the body of the luminaire (6) to said second flat surface. The present invention relates to a fixture fixing device

  intended to allow the fixing of a luminaire on a junction box provided in particular with a flat connection portion and threaded holes for receiving screws for fixing an object applied to said connection portion, the luminaire being provided with a body having a flat portion to be applied with a seal on an ad-hoc surface and which is provided with an orifice for

the passage of connection wires.

flat surface.

Claims (6)

  Fixing device for luminaire for fixing a luminaire on a junction box (2) provided in particular with a flat connection part and threaded holes for receiving screws (4) for fixing an object applied on said connecting part, the luminaire being provided with a body having a flat part (6) intended to be applied with a seal on an ad-hoc surface and which is provided with an orifice for the passage connecting wire (8), characterized in that it consists essentially of an intermediate piece (1) intended to be connected on the one hand to said box (2) and on the other hand to the luminaire, this a part comprising a first flat surface whose shape corresponds to that of the flat part of the junction box, with holes for fastening screws to be screwed into said box, a second flat surface opposite to the first and of different size; t whose shape corresponds to that of at least a portion of said flat portion (6) of the luminaire body, and an externally threaded barrel (10) for penetrating into said orifice of the luminaire body and receiving a tightening nut (7) placed inside the body of the luminaire and applying said flat portion portion (6) of the latter on the said second flat surface.   2 Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said intermediate piece is generally of revolution about the axis of the cannon (10).   3 Device according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in   the outer diameter of the barrel (10) is between 21 and 23 millimeters.   4 Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized   in that said first planar surface corresponds to that of a   box called "BESA-BOX", standardized in Great Britain.   Luminaire having a body having a flat portion to be applied with a seal (11) on an ad-hoc surface and which is provided with an orifice for the passage of connecting wires (8), characterized in that it is mounted on a junction box (2), or on a machine imitating such a box, by means of a device (1) of   fastener according to any one of the preceding claims.   6 luminaire according to the preceding claim, characterized in that said hole for the passage of connection son (8) is the only orifice of the body.   Luminaire according to one of claims 5 or 6, characterized in that   said hole for the passage of connecting wires (8) has a diameter of between 22 and 24 millimeters.
