Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical system of the type comprising, on the one hand a lamp of which a light source consists of a filament housed in a hermetically sealed transparent enclosure or balloon, and capable of being made incandescent by an electric current brought to its ends by two electrodes passing through an insulating fixing base and on the other hand a reflector having a focal point F on an optical axis XX ′ and focused on the light source in order to reflect the rays emitted by it in a given direction,
A system of this type widely used for the production of headlamps in the automobile field consists in placing the lamp at the bottom of a reflector which surrounds it externally and which it crosses, in order to be fixed in a socket arranged at the look at the open bottom of the reflector, a window coming directly to close the reflector to form an optical unit or closing a box in which the reflector is arranged with its lamp.
Such a system also finds its application in signaling lights equipping for example motor vehicles.
The search for a maximum lighting yield in this type of product, having to be always more efficient in the context of road safety, it was highlighted a number of problems detrimental to obtaining such a yield .
Il a été partiellement remédié à ce problème en disposant à la partie, inférieure du ballon, à l'extérieur de celui-ci, une zone annulaire reflechissante ayant pour rôle d'éviter la fuite des rayons entre le culot de la lampe et l'ouverture de fond du reflecteur et par conséquent de les récupérer.E; the light rays emitted by a lamp as defined above are partly obscured near its rear part, on the one hand by its own base which forms around the first electrodes a non-reflecting crown constituting an obstacle to the rays which strike what is equivalent to a loss of flow and on the other hand by the necessary clearance existing between the bottom opening of the reflector necessarily larger than that of the balloon of the lamp, and the lamp socket to allow its passage and forming a second crown concentric with the first and causing a leak of part of the light rays, in the most frequent lightings
This problem has been partially remedied by arranging a reflective annular zone at the bottom of the balloon outside of it, having the role of preventing the escape of rays between the lamp base and the opening the bottom of the reflector and consequently recovering them.
However, such a lamp does not allow recovery of the rear rays obscured by the base.
One might think that the solution to the problem posed could consist in using the technique already known in sealed projectors called "Sealed-Beam" in which the electrodes pass directly through the bottom of the reflector which consequently surrounds them, which makes it possible to avoid the aforementioned flow losses.
However, such a technique has the drawback of having a reflector closure glass which it is necessary to seal in order to preserve the filament.
fonction. It is in fact a headlamp whose use is not always compatible with the application, in particular with regard to the area of vehicle lights which must meet dimensional requirements, the flattest
possible and different colors depending on their
function.
These colors are mainly the
red, orange and white in the automobile.
optique.To meet the requirements of
sizing, especially in height, in the
field of fires it has often been proposed to
have a multitude of electrolumi diodes
nescents. But in this case, the only luminous flux
which is used is essentially the one which is parallel to the optical axis and taken up by a magnifying glass
optical.
De plus les diodes actuelles couvrent
correctement le rouge, imparfaitement l'orange et
pas du tout le blanc. In addition the current diodes cover
red correctly, imperfectly orange and
not at all white.
telles diodes.Hence a limited field of application,
such diodes.
The object of the present invention is to provide
ter a solution to the problems stated above 20
for obtaining an optical system a
maximum flow recovery, for a
footprint not exceeding that of a lamp
standard signage to find an app
cation, especially in flat vehicle lights
automobiles, but not exclusively.
To this end it concerns a system
type optics
- a lamp with a light source
constituted by a filament housed in an enclosure
transparent, hermetically sealed or balloon, and
likely to be made incandescent by a
electric current brought to its ends by two
electrodes passing through an insulating fixing base.
optical axis XX 'and focused on the source
light to reflect the rays emitted by that
ci in a given direction, characterized in that the reflector is arranged inside the balloon of the lamp.
According to an exemplary embodiment, a lower part of the reflector constituting its bottom is disposed in the immediate vicinity of the electrodes which it surrounds along a plane substantially perpendicular to them, so as to constitute a recuperator of maximum light flux.
The invention will be better understood and other characteristics of it will be highlighted with the aid of the description which. follows, with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings, illustrating, by way of nonlimiting example, how the invention may be carried out.
Figures 1 and 2 show in axial section, an optical system according to the invention according to three different embodiments.
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view along the line IIC Dt in FIG. 1.
Figure 4 is an axial sectional view according to an alternative embodiment.
The optical system 1 designated as a whole in FIG. 1 comprises a lamp 2, a light source of which consists of a filament (3) housed in a hermetically sealed transparent enclosure or balloon (4), and capable of being made incandescent by a electric current brought to its ends (3a, 3b) by two electrodes (5 and 6) passing through an insulating fixing base (7).
The electrodes 5 and 6 have, at their ends opposite the filament 3, pads 8 and 9 capable of coming into contact with positive and negative conductive strips 10 and 11 arranged at the bottom of a connection socket 12 integral with one part fixed 13, for example of a motor vehicle light.
The sleeve 12 has a lateral notch 14 in the form of a bayonet in which a lug 15 of the base 7 is locked in a manner known per se.
Finally, a removable transparent cover 17, for example a signaling lights cover, covers the fixed part 13.
According to the invention, a reflector 18 is arranged inside the balloon of the lamp 2.
The reflector 18 has a focal point F arranged on an optical axis X X 'which is focused on the light source 3 to reflect the light rays r, emitted by the latter in a given direction, in fact that of the axis of fire.
As shown in all of the figures, a lower part 18 of the reflector 18 constituting its bottom is disposed in the immediate vicinity of the electrodes 5 and 6 which it surrounds in a plane substantially perpendicular to them, so as to constitute a flux recuperator maximum light.
According to an exemplary embodiment, the bottom 18g of the reflector is open to form an oblong light 18a in which the electrodes 5 and 6 are inscribed (see FIG. 3).
According to the same example, the fixing of the reflector 18 is ensured by the mechanical connection of a peripheral point A of the bottom light 18a, with one of the electrodes 5, the other electrode 6 freely passing through said light 18L without contact.
The embodiment shown in Figure 2 differs essentially from that of Figure 1, in the arrangement of the reflector 18 B in the ball 4 B of a lamp IB, relative to the electrodes 5 and 6, to obtain a different focal length .
Thus, according to FIG. 1 showing a reflector 18 of height "h", a focal length different from that obtained with the reflector 18 B of height Uhlfl according to FIG. 2 will be obtained.
According to another embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the bottom (18c) of the reflector 18 C is closed around each of the electrodes 5 and 6 which pass through it through the intermediary of corresponding holes 20, 21 made directly in said bottom 18c.
In this case it is easily understood that the reflector 18 C is made of an insulating material, for example treated glass.
Consequently, the relative position of the bottom of the reflector 18, 18 B, 18 C relative to the electrodes 5, of which it is at least partially secured in fixing, is variable according to the height h hl, h2 to be obtained relative to the arrangement of the light source 3.
The manufacturing process of the optical system 1, 1 B, is remarkable by the following steps
- two conducting wires or electrodes 5,6 are introduced into an insulating pad (not shown) which they pass through, then at least one of them 5 or 6 is welded to the end of a filament 3.
- the new sub-assembly is introduced into the balloon 4, 4 A, 4 B through an open lower part.
- Installation and centering of a closing base 7 of the balloon 4, 4 A, 4 B and fixing the assembly.
Le procédé de fabrication du système. The manufacturing process of the system.
Whatever the aforementioned scenario, the reflector may for example be of parabolic shape or any other shape, and allows, according to an additional advantage of the invention, to cover the regulatory fields required in road signs which is more or less 200 horizontal and more or less 100 vertical, without having to resort to current dispersive systems such as closing glass provided with refraction streaks.
