Abstract

A machine for securing vines within the support structure is constructed on a base (20), which has the form of an arch. It is carried on posts at the front of a straddle tractor, as it moves along the lines of vines. The arch carries two Archimedean screw shafts (6), which lift up the vegetation on each side of the row and also unroll the two tension wires. On each side of the arch is a system (1) for guiding and braking the wires, linked to a drive transmission system (2). A pair of wheels, one fixed and one spring loaded against the other, are used to transmit the drive to the support wires (7).
