Abstract

Mechanical safety device for the end of a boom for distributing liquid or powdered products for agricultural machines, which device includes an articulation comprising a ball joint (18) located at its top part, a spring with adjustable tension (10) at its middle part, and a guide rail (12) and two studs (15, 17) at its lower part. When the end (6, 8) of the boom encounters an obstacle, this boom can move horizontally in both directions with upwards vertical incidence or move totally vertically upwards. The end (6, 8) is returned by the spring (10) and by its own weight to the initial position once the obstacle has been passed.

Description

The present invention relates to a distribution ramp of pro
liquid or powdered mixes for agricultural machines.

The object of the present invention is more precisely a device
safety device intended to protect the end of the ramp.

The whole of this distribution ramp consists of an element
center and two side arms which can be folded along
the machine.

In the working position, the arms are unfolded and, during the movements of the machine, the ends of the arms may encounter obstacles
various or touch the ground which leads to ruptures or deformations known;
the entire length of the arm.

Known security devices allow the erasure of the ex-
end on the obstacle and its return by a spring. Erasing is done
in one direction, backwards. Other devices allow the effa-
cement backwards and forwards. During the movement of the thing
the unevenness of the ground entered oscillations of the ramp which re
strike the end made mobile by the safety device and
this can whip, which causes spreading irregularities that are detrimental to crop yields. No known device ensures a se-
curity, both in the event of an obstacle at the front, at the rear and when the end

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a device for
safety acting by erasing in three dimensions in space, for obstacles arising at the front, rear or below the ramp, with automatic return to the initial position.

 The ramp end mechanical safety device according to the invention relates to an assembly made up of several elements.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the lateral elements 2 and 4 are articulated around a central element 1 at points 3, 5, 7 and 9.

The ends 6 and 8 are erasable and their joints 11 and 13 include the mechanical safety device.

FIGS. 3 and 4 show the detail of an embodiment of one of the joints 11 or 13.

A guide rail 12 is integral with the element 2, its profile forming two grooves 14 and 16 in which, at rest, are placed two pins 15 and 17 integral with the element 6. A ball joint 18 is integral with the elements 2 and 6.

 In the rest position = working position, the end element 6 articulated on the ball joint 18, exerts, due to its weight, a support of the pins 15 and 17, at the bottom of grooves 14 and 16 of the guide rail 12 , increased support of the spring bandage force 10.

 When the end 6 strikes an obstacle, whatever the direction of advance, it has both lateral and upward movement.

The obstacle passed, it returns to its initial point.

 When the element 2 tilts until it touches the ground, the end 6 rises vertically then returns to the initial position when the element 2 returns to its horizontal position.

Mechanical safety device at the end of a ramp for distributing liquid or powdered products for agricultural machines comprising articulated ends (6,8) secured to the ramp elements (2,4) by a ball joint (18), a guide rail CîZ), lugs (15,17) and a return spring (10), characterized in that the articulated elements (6,8) can, in contact with an obstacle, be erased laterally or towards the high and, once the obstacle has passed, return to their initial position under the effect of the return spring (18) and guided by the guide rail (12) and the lugs (15, 17).  Z.
