Abstract

Riding on a van platform with the tailgate lowered, has drawbacks due to the height or the smooth surface of the latter. Indeed, there is a risk of damaging or dirtying your clothes without neglecting the possibility of slipping and injuring yourself. In order to solve the problems, I invented a device which lowers a support to an acceptable height for the foot. This support, fixed to a horizontal platform when deployed or lowered, remains fixed and secure. When folded or reassembled, the device is very space-saving.

Description

Patent application A
Besdns Especially since the popularity of cams, we have been 4x4, the deg ~ eld on the ground of oes vehicles requires Cllaryclllcntslll platforms ~ bJcc3 ~
The acoes to these platforms, due to the height, are difficult without steps when the tailgate is a ~ issé.
Several solutions have been p, upos ~ es but they are enoo "~ bralltes, complex, non safe, difficult to manufacture or, in some cases, flexible flexible joints, pivots or others may jam due to the accumulation of sand or dirt.
Summary and a, a "l ~ es of the invention For these reasons, I have provided a retractable stirrup which can, by unfolding, provide support at the foot at a reasonable height between the ground and the tailgate or a charyc platform ,,, e ,, l while not reducing, or almost, respace of cl ~ alyel ~ lcl ~ t.
In addition, due to its size when installed at one of the two ends of the panel, it does not interfere with the nominal operations of d ~ ary ~ ", c, lt of the vehub.
The tailgate being raised to the worm ~ wedge, the folded stirrup is found inside the platform of cha, ye ", ent and is thus protected from the flashes of the road such as calcium, salt, sand, etc.
The tailgate of the camivnncttc being ~ ~, retrier, in vertical position, offers a fixed support due to the position of the retaining arms and the distance between the axes around from which these arms float.
The triangulation obtained by this system allows bracing which provides support fixed and secure.

Fig. 6 Plan view of the folded stirrup.
Fig. 7 Side elevation of the folded stirrup on the lowered tailgate.
Fig. 8 Side elevation of retrier folded up on the raised tailgate.
Description of the parts of the device and its operation Caliper (A) Stirrup-shaped part no longer than b height of the tailgate (E) raised or slightly equal near the demhli ~ l ~ nce between the platform (E) and the ground. The width of this piece will be sufficient for pe "ll ~, (tl ~ ri" sef ~ n of the foot with shoe.
The lower part of retrier (A) will be ~ "'~. ~ Ée to support the weight of a man.
This retrier part (A) will be striated in order to provide a secure surface.
The upper part of the retrier (when deployed) can be used as a handle for help rebalance of ruti ~ is ~ P ~ n Anad ~ esen "U" (B) Anc ~ dges in "U" on lesquek v.en-J ~ ùnt fix, by means of pivots on Axes 1 and 2, the retaining arms "C" and "D".
These "U" shaped pieces are attached to the panel (E) of the truck. The distance between the Axes 1 and 2 will be half the distance between Axes 3 and 4. So that the system is effective, the distance between Axes 3 and 4 should be + 1 "minimum.

Retaining arm (C) The retaining arms (C) are connected to the hanger (Axis 3) and to the "U" pieces (Axis 1) at the means of pivots ~ boubns or rivets and esr ~ cs ~ IrS).
These arms have for fon ~ n to rotate retrier on axis 1 on a radius of 180 ~ on the panel ~ E) of the truck ~.
Retaining arm (D) The retaining arms "D" are linked to retrier ~ Axis 4) and to the ano.dges in "U" ~ Axis 2) at means of pivots (bolts or rivets with spacers). These retaining arms are for fivnction d'orier ~ ter rang de retrier so that this piece is found at I l, orkvr, tale when folded and vertically b when deployed.
The launch between Axes 1 and 3 of the retaining arms ~ C) will be the same as that between Axes 2 and 4 by adding the distance between Axes 1 and 2.
The lengths of the retaining and retrier arms are always governed by the free height of the tailgate ~ E) of the cam ~ nn ~ tt ~.
The distances between the pivots of Axes 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, in addition to pen..etb ~ oner, td ~ on of row to retain, pe ..., ~ t it to remain fixed folded on the panel (E) or deployed to the worm ~ wedge in the direction of depb ~ ment of rappa. ~ it. The r ~ pp. ~ He. ,, cnl des retaining arm on Axis 2 allows triangulation that will not tolerate any movement side of stirrup folded or deployed.
