Abstract

A lift between lower and upper levels of a house includes a cabin and an essentially horizontal platform which is essentially vertically movable by actuating elements arranged thereunder. The actuating elements include at least one pair of rotatably mounted arms pivotally arranged around an axis in the middle part thereof. The free ends of the first arm of one pair are pivotable around a fixed axis and respectively around an axis sliding along the platform. The free ends of the second arm are pivotable around a fixed axis connected to the platform and respectively around a sliding axis. An actuating unit interacts with at least one of the arms such that the pivot axis of the second arm for the platform, the middle pivot axis of the arms of the pair and the pivot axis of the first arm are never aligned.

Description

The present invention relates to an elevator for transporting people between a lower level and a higher level particularly intended to be installed in homes to facilitate access to the floor of users whose mobility is reduced such as people with disabilities elderly for example.

In this field, elevators are well known comprising a cabin or a horizontal platform able to be translated vertically in a vertical cage from a lower level to a higher level and vice versa by actuating means; this is the case, for example, of the French patent FR 2,584,694 describing a hydraulic lift with a cab. The hydraulic lift comprises a cabin which is connected, by means of the support means and return pulleys, with a hydraulic cylinder movable in the direction of travel of the cabin, said cabin being able to be raised and lowered by the supplying and discharging a working liquid. The working fluid is fed to the hydraulic cylinder by means of a pump driven by a motor. Thus, the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder anchored in a fixed manner with its upper end, which can come out under the effect of weightlessness to raise the cabin, is connected at its end to a pulley guiding the anchored support means of fixed at one end and anchored to the cabin at the other end.

Although the actuating means of this type of elevator has a limited volume, the installation of this type of elevator requires structural work in the house that significantly increase the cost of laying this type of elevator .

Another element is also known from DE-A-4234490 hydraulic elevator, whose cabin is connected to the piston of a hydraulic cylinder in order to raise and lower said cabin by the supply and respectively the evacuation of a working liquid to the hydraulic cylinder; it's the case, for example, of the German patent DE 3.136.739 . The hydraulic cylinder is connected, via a pump, with a pressure accumulator designed in the form of a cylinder, the piston of which is loaded by a counterweight through the piston rod.

It will thus be observed that the length of the hydraulic cylinder corresponds to the maximum stroke of the cabin so that the elevation height of the cabin is particularly limited.

In order to remedy this drawback, hydrostatic drive devices have already been devised which allow long stroke lengths. This is the case, for example, with the European patent EP 0.374.500 describing a scissor lift system, particularly usable in garages for lifting vehicles, comprising two pairs of scissor-mounted arms, one of the free ends of an arm of a pair being articulated around a fixed axis integral with the ground, the other end being hinged about an axis sliding along one of the lateral edges of the lifting frame, the other arm having an end articulated about a fixed axis integral with the lateral edge of the lifting frame, and its other end articulated around an axis sliding along the ground. The two arms of a pair are pivotally mounted on an axis which supports a connecting rod, pivotally connected to the ends of the two hydraulic cylinders acting as an actuating member, along an eccentric axis of its mounting axis, which can rotate 90 ° between a generally horizontal position and a position where it will be locked in rotation. The rod is advantageously provided with rollers so that they allow a rapid rise in the axis of rotation which binds the two arms of a pair between them, when the lift frame is in the base position. In addition, the existence of the rod itself also allows, thanks to its rotation, by reduction, a rapid rise in the axis of rotation which links the two arms of a pair between them.

This type of elevator has the disadvantage of require structural work and earthworks at the bottom of the cage to make a bowl located below the lower level to accommodate the hydrostatic drive device, which significantly affect the costs of installation of such elevator. Otherwise, the platform of the elevator can not flush with the ground when the elevator is in the lower position, the arms and the actuating member being arranged below the platform.

One of the aims of the invention is therefore to overcome this disadvantage by proposing a lift of simple and inexpensive design avoiding the realization of a bowl at the bottom of the cage of the elevator.

For this purpose, and according to the invention, there is provided an elevator between a lower level and a level comprising a cabin or a substantially horizontal platform able to be translated vertically in a vertical cage from the lower level to the level higher and vice versa, by actuating means positioned under the platform remarkable in that said actuating means comprise on the one hand at least one pair of scissor-mounted arms, that is to say articulated around an axis in their median part, the free ends of a first arm of a pair being hinged about a fixed axis integral with the cage and respectively at the platform about an axis sliding along the axis; one of the lateral edges of the platform and the free ends of the second arm being hinged about a fixed axis integral with the lateral edge of said platform and respectively to the cage about a sliding axis, such so that the axis of articulation of the second arm to the platform, the median axis of articulation of the arms of a pair and the axis of articulation of the first arm to the cage are never aligned, and d on the other hand an actuating member cooperating with at least one of the arms, the actuation of said member providing rotation of the first arm from a first position where said second arm extends above the sliding axis to a second lower position where said first arm extends below said sliding axis, thus ensuring the translation of the platform from a first position where it extends to the upper level of the dwelling to a second position where it s extends to the lower level under said sliding axis, and vice versa.

The actuating member consists, preferably, in a jack whose body is secured to the cage and whose rod is articulated to a rod articulated to one of the arms of the pair in such a way that the hinge pins from the connecting rod to the rod of the jack, from the rod to the first arm and from the first arm to the cage are never aligned.

Furthermore, and particularly advantageously, the cage consists of a frame comprising two rear uprights, two lower longitudinal members and rear cross members, the free ends of the first arm of a pair being hinged about a fixed axis integral with the rear end of the lower longitudinal members and respectively to the plate about an axis sliding along one of the lateral edges of the platform and the free ends of the second arm being articulated around a fixed axis integral with the lateral edge of the platform and respectively to said lower spar around an axis sliding along a longitudinal slot in said spar.

It is well understood that, unlike the devices of the prior art, where the stem of the hydrostatic drive device is integral with the lower wall of the cabin, resting on the ground below the lower level, the jack allowing to drive the platform from the lower level 2 to the upper level and conversely extends above said lower level so that the installation of such a lift in a dwelling does not require earthworks for the realization of a bowl .

Particularly advantageously, one of the arms of each pair of arms consists of two segments, a first segment and a second segment. extending linearly and parallel in two distinct vertical planes, said segments being connected by a fixed axis integral with the respective free ends of the first and second segments and passing through the first arm of the pair.

With reference to Figures 1 to 3 , the elevator according to the invention between a lower level and an upper level of a dwelling comprises a substantially horizontal platform 1 able to be translated vertically in a vertical cage 2 from the lower level 3 to the upper level 4 and inversely by actuating means positioned under said platform 1. The stand 2 comprises a frame 5 comprising two front uprights 6 and has two rear uprights 6b, two lower side members 7,7 'and 8 of the front cross members a and two rear rails 8 b . The lower longitudinal members 7,7 'of the cage 2 extend above the lower level 3 of the dwelling to increase the vertical movement of the platform 1 as will be detailed below. The horizontal platform 1 consists of a generally rectangular plate 9 comprising on its lateral edges and on its rear transverse edge railings 10 conventionally consist of uprights and rails forming railings.

The elevator comprises, moreover, two pairs of scissor-mounted arms 11 and 12, that is to say a pair of arms articulated about an axis in their central part, articulated respectively on the lateral edges of the plate. 1. The free ends of the first arm 11a of a pair 11 are hinged about a fixed axis 13 secured to the rear end of the lower spar 7 of the frame 5 of the cage 2 and respectively to the platform. form 1 about an axis 14 sliding along one of the lateral edges of said platform 1 through a longitudinal slot 15. The free ends of the second arm 11b are hinged about a fixed axis 16 integral with the side edge of the platform 1 and respectively in the median part of the lower spar 7 of the frame 5 of the cage 2 about an axis 17 sliding through a longitudinal slot 18 formed in the middle portion of said lower spar 7. It should be noted that, the pairs of arms 11 and 12 being articulated on the side edges of the platform 1, the space below the latter is completely free, which allows said platform 1 to extend to the lower level 3 without earthworks are necessary.

The elevator comprises, moreover, a jack 19 which is powered by a hydraulic motor, not shown in the figures, so as to actuate said platform 1. This jack 19 extends vertically along the rear upright 6 a of the frame 5 of the cage 2, above the lower beam 7 and the rod 20 of said cylinder 19 is articulated to a connecting rod 21 articulated to the first arm 11a of the pair between the hinge of said first arm 11a around the fixed shaft 13 secured to the rear end of the lower beam 7 of the frame 5 of the cage 2 and the axis of articulation of the first and second arms 11a and 11b connected in scissors so that the axes articulation of the connecting rod 21 to the rod 20 of the jack 19, the rod 21 of the first arm and said first arm 11a to the cage 2 are never aligned. Thus, the vertical translation of the rod 20 of the jack 19 causes the rotation of the first arm from a first position where said second arm extends above the lower longitudinal members 7,7 'of the frame 5 of the cage 2 to a second lower position where said first arm 11a extends below said lower side members 7,7 'and providing the translation of the platform 1 from a first position where it extends on the upper floor 4 of the housing to a second position where it extends to the lower floor 3 under the lower longitudinal members 7,7 'of the frame 5 of the cage 2.

It goes without saying that the lower position of the platform 1 may be confused with the plane of the longitudinal members 7,7 'of the frame 5 of the cage 2 without departing from the scope of the invention. Nevertheless, it is clear that for the same vertical movement of the platform 1, it will be necessary to provide a jack 19, the movement of the rod 20 is greater.

With reference to the figure 4 it will be observed that one of the arms of each pair of scissor-mounted arms 11, 12, the second arm 11b, for example, consists of two segments, a first segment 11 ' b extending from the lower spar 7 to the first arm 11b of the pair 11 and a second segment 11b extending from the first arm 11a of the pair 11 to the platform 1. These segments 11'b and 11 "b extend linearly and in parallel in two separate vertical planes and are connected by a fixed shaft 22 secured to the respective free ends of first and second segments 11'b, 11 "b and passing through the first arm 11a of the pair 11. Thus, the first and second segments 11'b and 11 "b are hinged about an axis 2 through the first arm 11a.

According to a particularly advantageous variant embodiment, represented in dotted lines on the figure 4 , the free ends of the arms 11b of the first pair 11 of arms are secured to the respective free ends of the arms 12b of the second pair of arms 12 by a connecting bar 23 so that the rotation of the first arm 11 has of the first pair 11 provided by actuating the actuator 19 simultaneously drives rotation of the first arm 12 a of the second pair 12. In this regard, it is noted that the arms 11a and 12a of pairs 11 and 12 protrude to the rear of the platform form 1 to allow the passage of the connecting bar 23 behind the platform when moved from the lower level 3 to the upper level 4 and vice versa, said connecting bar 23 extending in the plane of the platform 1 when the latter is located at the lower longitudinal members 7,7 'of the frame 5.

Accessoirement, en référence à la figure 1, l'élévateur comporte au niveau supérieur 4 un portillon 24 pivotant autour de charnières 25 solidaires des montants avants de l'ossature 5 de la cage 2 de telle manière que ledit portillon 24 soit fermé, empêchant l'accès à la cage 2, lorsque la plate-forme 1 se situe au niveau inférieur 3 afin d'empêcher toute chute depuis le niveau supérieur 4.Incidentally, with reference to figure 1 , the elevator comprises at the upper level 4 a gate 24 pivoting about hinges 25 secured to the front legs of the frame 5 of the cage 2 such that said gate 24 is closed, preventing access to the cage 2, when platform 1 is located at the lower level 3 to prevent any fall from the upper level 4.

It will be observed that the vertical displacement of the platform 1 in the cage 2 is not linear but slightly curved so that, when said platform 1 is at the lower level 3 or the upper level 4, said platform 1 is separated from the floor of the lower level 3 or higher by a space. In order to prevent a user from getting caught in this space and getting injured, the front edge of the platform 1 advantageously comprises a retractable flap 26, prestressed by elastic means and able to slide along rails. 27 positioned under said platform 1 to fill said space.

It goes without saying that the cylinder 9 may be substituted by any other actuator well known to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention, the axis of articulation of the actuating member the arm 11a and the axis of articulation of said arm 11a to the cage 2 does never before then be aligned vertically.

Moreover, it goes without saying that the actuating means of said horizontal platform may not to understand that a pair of arms mounted scissors, the free ends of a first arm of a pair being articulated around a fixed axis integral with the cage and respectively to the plate about a sliding axis and the free ends of the second arm being articulated around a fixed axis integral with said platform and respectively to the frame of the cage around a sliding axis.

Finally, it goes without saying that the horizontal platform of the elevator may be substituted by a cabin and that the examples that we have just given are only particular illustrations in no way limiting as to the scope of application of the invention.
