Abstract
Description
The vehicles used to transport the injured are generally provided with a table for receiving the stretcher for carrying the injured person, a table which can occupy a low position, in which it is substantially at the level of the vehicle floor to facilitate the loading of the stretcher, and a high position, in which the stretcher is at a height allowing the assistance personnel to supervise or provide care to the injured person.
Although the vehicle has a suspension with shock absorbers, it is generally designed for a seated or standing person, but not for a lying person and even less for an injured person. It should be noted here that the human body is more sensitive to vertical impact when it is in the horizontal position and that to improve the comfort of a person in this horizontal position, it is necessary that the damping frequency be greater.
To improve the comfort of the injured, some tables and stretcher supports are provided with an additional suspension. In general, these suspensions are of the hydraulic or pneumatic or hydropneumatic type, and therefore are bulky, and very expensive.
The present invention aims to provide a support table with suspension which is simple, inexpensive and safe to operate, while ensuring damping close to that ideal for a person lying down.
The support table, according to the invention, is of the type composed of a fixed frame, a plate capable of receiving a stretcher, arms articulated on the frame and on the plate, and means for actuating the arms to move the tray between a low position for receiving the stretcher and a high transport position.
According to the invention, each of the arms of each of the pairs of arms is provided, at its lower end, on the one hand, with a transverse cylindrical sleeve by which it is mounted to rotate freely in the corresponding bearing of the chassis, and, on the other hand, a profile of prismatic section arranged coaxially and inside the sleeve, projecting in the direction of the other arm of the same pair of arms and engaging in a sleeve for connecting the two arms of the same pair and of connection with the actuating means, this sheath having a prismatic section which, of identical shape but of dimensions larger than those of the profile, is angularly offset with respect to the profile to form with it housing for receiving straight rods in compressible and elastic material forming shock absorbers, while at least one of the arms is associated with means limiting its angulation relative to the horizontal to a value between 40 and 50 e t means, intervening only when the plate is in the high position, to limit the elastic deformation stroke of the tubes by increasing the stiffness of the damping.
I1 emerges from the above that the means for damping the movements of the plate are arranged in the means ensuring the connection of the two arms of the same pair of arms, which allows them to operate regardless of the horizontal position of the support plate. stretcher. Furthermore, when the plate is in the high transport position, additional means can be used to limit the elastic deformation stroke of the main damping device, that is to say to limit the amplitude of oscillation of the plate, while increasing the stiffness of depreciation to reduce the depreciation period. In other words, the suspension is of non-linear type.
Other characteristics and advantages will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended schematic drawing showing by way of nonlimiting examples an embodiment of a stretcher support table.

In this drawing, 2 generally designates the chassis composed of longitudinal members 2a and crossbeams 2b, 3 (FIG. 3) designates the reinforcement longitudinal members of the plate 4 suitable for receiving a stretcher 5 (FIG. 1) and 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d denote the arms of the two pairs of arms connecting the chassis 2 to the plate 4. Each of the arms is articulated, by its upper end and at 7, on the plate 4 and, by its lower end, in bearings 8 of the chassis 2. Figures 1 to 3 show that the upper ends of the arms are articulated on intermediate sections 9 in which rollers 10 can circulate integral with the side members 3 of the plate 4.This arrangement allows the plate 4 to be moved longitudinally between a retracted position and a position loading, in which, the table being in the low position, said plate protrudes outside the vehicle to promote the positioning of the stretcher 5 coming on it.
According to the invention, and as shown in more detail in FIGS. 3 to 5, each of the arms 6a to 6d is integral, on the one hand, with a cylindrical sleeve 12 mounted free to rotate in the corresponding bearing 8 and, d 'other hand, a profile 13 which, in the embodiment shown, is tubular and has a square section.
This profile is arranged coaxially inside the sleeve 12 and protrudes from the latter to form a projection which can penetrate a sheath 14, common to the two arms, 6a and 6b or 6c-6d, of the same pair of arms. Figure 5 shows that the sleeve 13 is tubular and has a square section of larger dimensions than those of the profile 13 so as to be able to receive this profile by allowing it to pivot. The diagonals of the profile and of the sleeve are offset to form housings 15. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the internal dimension of the square sleeve 14 is such that this sleeve can receive the profile 13 with its diagonals offset by 900 relative to its own while leaving it the possibility of oscillating with respect to it. In each of the housings 15 thus delimited is disposed a tube 16 made of compressible and elastic material, such as an elastomer, constituting a shock absorber. FIG. 4 shows that these strands extend over the entire length of the profile 13 and even protrude in the interval between the free ends of these two profiles 13.
The sheath 14, which constitutes a connecting element between the two arms 6a and 6b but also an element for controlling their pivoting in the bearings 8, is secured to a lever 17 at the free end of which the rod is articulated at 18 19a of a jack whose body 19b is articulated at 20 on one of the crossbars 2b of the chassis. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the lever 17 is disposed at mid-length of the sleeve 14 and it is surrounded, on each side, by levers 22 fixed to this sleeve. The free end of each of these levers 22 is articulated at 23 at one of the ends of a link 24, the other end of which is articulated, at 23a, on levers 22a, integral with the connecting sleeve of the arms 6c and 6d.
The arms are associated with means which limit their angulation relative to the horizontal when the table is in the transport position. In this embodiment, the angulation represented by the angle a in FIG. 1 has a value between 40 and 500 and, more precisely, at a value of the order of 440. These means can be constituted by fixed stops but also by an end-of-travel contact acting on the means controlling the supply of the jack 19a-19b, whether this jack is of hydraulic, or electrical type as in the present embodiment.
It is easily understood that, when the table is in its low position shown in FIG. 2, to bring it to the high position shown in FIG. 1, it suffices to control the supply of the jack 19a-19b to pivot the sheath 14, and via the connecting rods 24, the other sleeve. This rotational movement is transmitted by the flanges 16 to the sections 13 of the arms 6a to 6d which are thus subjected to an elevation movement in the direction of the arrows 25 in FIG. 2, until the plate 4 is in its position high.
When the vehicle in which this support table is placed, the vertical movements due to the jolts of transport and already damped by the suspension of this vehicle, are transmitted to the plate 4 with additional damping provided by the flanges 16. However, if the table support only included the structure described so far, it could be that under the repetition of the vertical oscillations, the plate 4, the stretcher and the injured person that it carries, tend, by effect of resonance, to take oscillations of more and more important by causing inconvenience to the injured person. To suppress this resonance effect and improve the damping obtained, at least one of the arms and for example that 6b is associated with complementary damping means composed of a stop 30 in elastically deformable material, fixed on a tab 32 projecting laterally from the end of a lever 33. This arm is provided, at its other extremi tee, a socket 34 which is mounted to rotate freely on the sleeve 12 of the arm 6b. The lever 33 is connected to the arm Cb by a tension spring 35 by which it can follow the movements of this arm. Finally, these stroke limitation means also comprise a retractable locking finger 36, mounted to slide in a transverse bore of the corresponding spar 2a and disposed in the pivot path of the lever 33. In this embodiment, this finger is constituted by the core of an electromagnet whose body 37 is fixed on the spar.
In the rest position and as shown in FIG. 2, the lever 33 is in the lowered position flush with the floor of the vehicle and although in contact with the corresponding lever 6b, does not provide any damping function since in this position, limiting the crushing of the strands 16 of the suspension and ensured by pressing the side members 9 of the plate 4 on the stops 38 of the chassis.
As soon as the cylinder 19a-19b is electrically supplied, the electromagnet 37 is also supplied and its core 36 is pressed against the lever 33. As the arm 6b rotates, the lever 33 pivots in the direction of the arrow 25 in Figure 5 and releases the locking finger 36, just before the arm 6b reaches its end position. Under these conditions, if the platform, the stretcher and the injured person, are subjected to vertical movements of too great amplitude, in its pivoting downwards, the arm 6b comes into contact with the stop 30 and forces the lever 33 to pivot in the opposite direction of the arrow 25 until it comes up against the finger 36. From there, the arm 6b crushes the stop 30, which increases the stiffness of the damping. It should be noted that by its frustoconical shape, the stopper offers increasing resistance, therefore also increasing the stiffness of the damping as it is compressed.
The additional damping of the vertical upward oscillations is ensured by a stop 30a which, identical to that 30, is arranged symmetrically to the latter relative to the arm 6b and on a fixed support 39, integral with the corresponding bearing 8.
The damping obtained by the means according to the invention is represented in FIG. 6 by curve C where the angular movement of the arms is given on the abscissa and the force exerted at the end of the arms is given on the ordinate. Curve C has three segments C1,
C2 and C3 corresponding, the first, to the assumption by the tubes 16 of the weight of the injured person and the stretcher, when they are placed on the table, that C2 to the damping provided by the tubes 16, with the table in the high position and, finally, that C3 at the damping provided by these tubes and by the stops 30 and 30a during jolts. Such a graph clearly shows that the suspension obtained provides a non-linear damping curve, it is to say allows to obtain a damping which is all the more firm as the load is high, but without being too hard and painful for the injured in normal traffic conditions. Due to its structure, this device allows, in the normal damping phase corresponding to the segment C2 of the curve and, thanks to the angulation given to the arm 6a and 6d, to obtain a damping frequency of the order of 1 hertz, that is to say a frequency which is very close to that considered to be optimal for a person lying on a stretcher. This simple and inexpensive device, combining known and perfectly mastered techniques, therefore makes it possible to obtain a stretcher support table having a suspension perfectly suited to the needs and not affecting the speed of the table's operating movements, performing in seconds.
