Abstract

The invention concerns a relaxation cushion intended principally to facilitate the healing of traumatic pathologies of the lower limbs. According to the invention, the cushion comprises a first element 1 having a longitudinal cavity 2, whose base 3 is inclined relative to the horizontal plane, the cavity being intended to serve as a longitudinal support for the leg to be treated, and a second element 4 which is separate from the first one and is intended to engage partially or completely in the said cavity in such a way as to wedge the said leg in the desired position.

Description

 The invention relates to a relaxation cushion intended mainly to facilitate the healing of traumatic pathologies of the lower limbs.

 Known devices for raising the lower limbs are types - tilting tables; - stem-pulley-cable; - traditional cushions.

The first two implement heavy investments which are generally only made by structures specialized in care, rehabilitation, ...

The third, usable by all, is not suitable for supporting the lower limbs under the required physiological and therapeutic conditions.

 It is with the aim of obtaining a simple, effective cushion, accessible to non-professionals, ensuring the desired comfort and allowing a preventive and curative treatment, that the depositor designed and produced a cushion comprising a first element having a cavity longitudinal, the bottom of which is inclined relative to the horizontal, intended to serve as a longitudinal support for the leg to be treated, and a second element, distinct from the first, intended to be housed, partially or totally, in said cavity, so that to wedge said leg in the desired position.

 On the medical level, said cushion - promotes venous return, the reduction of edemas and varicose veins of the lower limbs; - facilitates the healing of traumatic pathologies of the lower limbs; - allows medical monitoring, for example of varicose ulcer.

It can also be used by people with cardiovascular disorders, who have had an operation on the lower limbs, ...

The wedge immobilizes the limb in question, avoiding internal and external rotations.

 The characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the invention given by way of example only and shown in the accompanying drawing (Figure 1, single).

 The cushion shown comprises a first element (1) having a longitudinal cavity (2), the bottom (3) of which is inclined relative to the horizontal plane, intended to serve as a longitudinal support for the leg to be treated, and a second element ( 4), distinct from the first, intended to be housed, partially or totally, in said cavity, so as to wedge said leg in the desired position.

The first element is inscribed in a parallelepiped, one of the sides (5) of which is inclined relative to the horizontal plane.

The longitudinal cavity has side walls (6) inclined relative to the vertical.

The second element has a triangular or trapezoidal section (7).

The cushion also comprises a device, consisting of a support (8) and adjustable fasteners (9), intended to keep the foot in its physiological position (in support of the support).

The cushion can be made of flexible material such as foam.

The cushion also has an inclined wall (10) making it possible to juxtapose it to another, symmetrical cushion, with the desired spacing and inclination between the two legs.

 The use of the cushion is as follows: the leg is positioned along the cavity (2), the foot for example resting on the bottom (3) thereof and in the upper part, the wedge, which has an edge inclined (11), bearing on one of the edges (6) of the cavity, the other side (12) of the wedge bearing on the leg which itself bears on the other edge (13 ) from the cavity.

 When the foot exceeds the cavity, it is maintained in its physiological nosition by the support device (8,9).

 In its preferred embodiment, the cushion measures approximately - 75 cm long and 40 cm wide for its horizontal part; - 40 cm for its high vertical side and 8 cm for its low vertical side; - 10 cm at the base and 30 cm at the opening for its frustoconical cavity.

As for the cushion, it measures approximately - 35 cm long and 15 cm wide for its upper part; - 20 cm high and 5 cm wide for its lower part.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown for which we can provide other variants, use all types of materials and dimensions, without departing from the scope of the invention.

 1- Orthopedic relaxation cushion for the lower limbs, characterized in that it comprises a first element (I) having a longitudinal cavity (2), the bottom (3) of which is inclined relative to the horizontal plane, intended to serve as longitudinal support for the leg to be treated, and a second element (4), distinct from the first, intended to be housed, partially or totally, in said cavity, so as to wedge said leg in the desired position.  2- cushion according to claim 1, characterized in that the first element is part of a parallelepiped of which one of the sides (5) is inclined relative to the horizontal plane.  3- cushion according to claim 2, characterized in that the longitudinal cavity has side walls (6) inclined relative to the vertical.  4- cushion according to claim 1, characterized in that the second element has a triangular or trapezoidal section (7).  5- cushion according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a device, consisting of a support (8) and adjustable fasteners (9), intended to maintain the foot in its physiological position.  6- cushion according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is made of flexible material such as foam.
