CARDBOARD PACKAGE HAVING A PART FORMING BOTTOM AND A

PART FORMING COVER

  The present invention relates to a carton or the like having a bottom portion and a lid portion, which are respectively made from a blank

in one piece.

  In known packages of this type, the parts forming the bottom and the lid have substantially the same height to give the portion forming the lid a secure hold and therefore sufficient stability to the package. But this results in a very high material consumption. Admittedly, this type of packaging can very easily open but offers no security to

  with respect to unauthorized opening.

  The object of the invention is to produce a packaging of the type mentioned at the beginning, which offers a wide protection to the product

  packaged but which can be made with the least possible material.

  According to the invention, this object is achieved by the means that the bottom portion comprises a bottom with four free edges of which is respectively shaped form a flap upwardly; and that the lid portion has a lid surface and four shaped shaped walls on this surface and raised downward, the walls of the lid portion covering the flaps of the bottom portion; and that the front wall and the rear wall are, at their lower end, connected by gluing to the respective flaps, while the two side walls each have two slit-shaped cutouts in which

  in engagement the corresponding flaps of the part forming the bottom.

  By this means it is possible to design the flaps very low and therefore with the saving of material and still obtain

  a secure closure on all four sides of the package.

  An advantageous embodiment of the packaging according to the invention consists in that the front wall of the portion forming the lid is divided, by a fold line directed horizontally, into two portions, the lower portion of which has a tear strip which is isolated by perforation lines or the like, which is directed horizontally over the entire portion and which is between the fold line and the bonding bond. This fold line facilitates, above all, the closure of the package, since it can simply fit the part forming the lid above the portion forming the bottom, then fold up the lower portion around the line of fold, glue it and press it down again against the flap. To open the package, it is then sufficient to remove the tear tape, and the package can open completely by simply tilting back the portion forming the lid. Because the flaps of the bottom portion are not connected to each other, the front flap can be at least flattened, which allows the packed product to be easily removed. This is particularly favorable when using this package for wrapping pies

  or similar products that can be taken out in quarters.

  The rearward portion of the lid portion is further facilitated after removal of the tear strip if, according to the invention, the rear wall of the lid portion is also divided by means of a line. folded horizontally, in two portions whose lower portion is glued with the corresponding flap of

the part forming the bottom.

  It is also very advantageous that, according to the invention, the slit-like cuts provided in the side walls

  of the part forming the lid are of triangular shape.

  This makes it very easy to thread the flaps in these cutouts during the insertion of the portion forming the cover, without the mutual support of the flaps and the walls

  against each other is negatively influenced.

  Between the cut-outs one can then see a piece of the flap of the part forming the bottom which, according to one embodiment

  advantageous of the invention, has a coding.

  FIG. 1 represents the mechanical progress of the manufacture of a package which consists of a bottom part 1 and a lid part 2 which are

  respectively made from a cardboard blank of a coin.

  The part 1 forming the bottom consists of a solid 3 said free edges 4 which is each attached a flap 5. The part 2 forming the cover has a cover surface 6 to which are attached two side walls 7 and a front wall 8 and a rear wall 9.   In order to manufacture the package, part 1 forming the bottom and part 2 forming the lid are simultaneously raised: on the part forming the lid, the two side walls 7 are first folded upwards and then glued, after folding them upwards, the front wall 8 and the rear wall 9 by their portion attached to the surface 6 of the lid. We then turn the part 2 forming the cover and we fit it

  on part 1 forming the bottom, previously erected and filled.

  For this purpose, on the bottom part is folded upwards the two side flaps 5 around the edges 4 and then, from the front, it was threaded on the bottom 3 the product to be wrapped - in this embodiment , a pie. The meeting of the part forming the lid and the part forming the bottom is thus done, it being specified that one folds to the outside the

  lower portions of the front wall and the rear wall.

  Then fold up the front and back flaps of the part forming the bottom and glue them with the lower portions, which are folded down again, walls

  FIG. 2 shows in perspective and on an enlarged scale the two components of the package, starting from the part 2 forming the lid, already erect (I), whereas in the first step (I), the part forming the background still remains flat.   In the representation of Figure 3, the lower portion of the front wall 8 has, between the fold line 11 and the line, not visible gluing, a tear strip 13 which is limited by two perforation lines 14 and 15. In addition, the two lateral walls 7 each have slit-shaped cutouts 16 which start at the lower edge of the side walls and extend to the upper edge of the flaps 5. The portion of the lateral wall situated between the cut-outs is located behind the flap 5, while the rest of the side wall is in front of the flap. As a result, the side wall and

  the flap are locked to one another very effectively.

  In addition, a portion of the flap is visible at this point and can

  carry a coding, such as the expiry date.

  Figure 4 shows that portion of the side wall 7 with the flap partially visible and a coding in the form of a date. The cuts 16 in the side wall 7 have a triangular shape, which guarantees a sliding

  particularly easy flap in these cuts.

  In FIG. 5, the packaging, lined with a pie 17, has been opened by removing the tear-off strip and the portion 2 forming the lid has been folded backwards, as with a hinge. You can easily remove the pie, entirely or by quarters. In the case of the example of Figure 5, the two side walls themselves have, in the portion between the two cuts, a cutout 18 by means of which one obtains an even better hold between the wall

side and the flap.

  A carton or the like having a bottom portion and a lid portion, which are respectively made from a one-piece blank, characterized in that the bottom portion (1) has a bottom ( 3) to the four free edges (4) which respectively came form a flap (5) upwardly; and in that the portion forming the lid (2) has a lid surface (6) and four walls (7,8,9) formed in shape on this surface and raised downwards, the walls of the part forming the lid covering the flaps (5) of the portion forming the bottom (1); and in that the front wall and the rear wall (8, 9) are, at their lower end, connected by gluing to the respective flaps (5), while the two side walls (7) each have two cutouts (16) in slot shape in which the corresponding flaps (5) engage with each other. the part forming the bottom.   2.
