Abstract

A lever 18 allows the butterfly valve of the carburettor 13 to be controlled manually. A piston 24 of a servomotor 22 actuates the accelerator pedal 4 which in turn acts upon the carburettor 13. The position of the piston 24 is determined by the pressure in a chamber 23 which communicates selectively with a vacuum source 34 or with the atmosphere 33 by virtue of a directional control valve 36 whose inlet disc 37 is actuated by a cable 57 connected to the lever 18. The chamber 23 is connected to a recess 52 in the disc 37, which communicates with the vacuum or with the atmosphere according to whether it straddles one or other of two recesses 42, 43 connected to the source 34 and respectively to the atmosphere 33, and carried by another mating disc driven by the piston 24.
