Abstract

A constant idle control mechanism for controlling the idle speed of a vehicle engine as a function of its load, has a plunger (18) which actuates the butterfly valve of the engine carburettor. A first member (24) moves said plunger in response to operation of valve means (80, 94) controlling fluid pressure communication across the member (24) in response to the relative displacements of a second member (22) subjected to the pressure differential between atmosphere and manifold vacuum. <IMAGE>
