  The invention relates to a device for assembling and fixing rectangular panels. In the building sector, a large number of elements are constituted by rectangular panels, arranged side by side, and fixed on a structure

  bearing; this is particularly the case for cladding, roofing or partitions.

  In the case of cladding and roofing, these panels provide protection against the weather, as well as acoustic and thermal insulation. They must have other regulatory features such as fire resistance,

for example.

  These modular type constructions have the advantage of prefabrication

  in the factory and a quick and easy installation on the construction site.

  However, the presently known systems have the following drawbacks: tongue-and-groove inter-panel assemblies involve a defined orientation of a panel with respect to adjacent panels, which

represents an inconvenience to the assembly.

  Moreover, the tongue portion is often deteriorated during transport or

  manipulations of the panels during installation.

  - the fixing system of the panel on the supporting structure constitutes the most

  often a thermal bridge that decreases the effectiveness of building insulation.

  The device according to the invention proposes to eliminate these disadvantages.

  The fixing and assembling device consists of a profile symmetrical with respect to a longitudinal plane, having in cross section the general shape of an I; the base has an open-out cavity, whose width is greater than the opening, and the upper part consists of two opposite branches whose outer shape is complementary to grooves

  longitudinal lines on the adjacent fields of the panels to be assembled.

  These grooves may have any cross section, but which preferably has a simple geometrical shape such as semicircle, rectangle, trapezium, etc ... The open cavity of the base of the profile is used to thread the head of a bolt into view of the attachment of the profile according to the invention on the supporting structure of the building, by any known means, a flange for example. However any other method of fixing the profile on the supporting structure can be used, in

  particular bolts through the base of it.

  The maximum width of the groove of the edge of the panels must be adapted to the compressive strength of the material constituting the edge, according to the own weight of the panels and what they support, in particular when the

  mounting of these is done horizontally, as is the case on the front.

  The device according to the invention is advantageously made of Al alloy, by

  example 6060-T5, because of the good compromise mechanical resistance lightness.

  The panels are most often of the composite type and consist, in known manner, of two outer skins, generally metallic, but which may be made of wood or other construction material (plaster, fiber cement, etc.) between which there is an insulating mat (mineral or organic). However, to ensure sufficient strength of the edge of the panels while ensuring an effective thermal break, the songs of these are constituted by parts

  rigid and insulating eg wooden.

  These are linked to metal skins either by gluing or other means of attachment, or simply by hooking, which allows differential expansion

  between the two skins without apparent deformation or deterioration of the panels.

  In the latter case, two small grooves are formed on either side of the main groove of the edge of the panel and receive the folded ends of the

panel skins.

  These small grooves can also accommodate either the inter-panel sealing joints or a sealing flap in the horizontal mounting area. The free span, located between the branches of the upper part of the profile can be either filled with a thermal and acoustic insulation, or be used for the passage of cables, wires or pipes intended for heating, lighting, lighting,

ventilation, etc ... of the premises.

  The metal profile (1) which is symmetrical with respect to a plane whose trace is represented in (10) has, in cross section, the general shape of an I whose base (2) comprises a cavity (3) provided with an opening (4) of width

less than that of the cavity.

  A core (5) connects the base to the U-shaped upper part (6) with parallel branches (7, 7). The axes (9) materialize the position of the axis of the holes for the direct attachment of the profile (1) on the supporting structure (not shown) with the aid of the through bolts, when the fixing by bolts,

  whose head is trapped in the cavity (3), is not used.

  The edges of the composite panels consist of wooden parts (11) having two opposite grooves (12,12 ') in which the flanges 7,7'> of the profile (1) engage. These edges also have two small opposite grooves (13a, 13a 'and 13b, 13b') in which the folded end of the outer and inner facings (14) engage on the one hand, and the joint heels on the other hand.

  1. Fastening device and panel assembly caratérisé in that it comprises a profile (1) symmetrical with respect to a longitudinal plane, having the general shape of an I, whose base is provided with a cavity (3) having a downwardly directed opening (4) of a width less than that of the cavity and connected to the upper part (6) having two opposite branches (7 ;? ') by a web (5), the outer part opposite branches being complementary to 2 longitudinal grooves (12, 12 ') made in the rigid and insulating fields (11) panels to assemble.   2. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the fields (11) of panels are wooden.   3. Device according to one of claims 1 or 2 characterized in that the   fields (11) are provided with small longitudinal grooves (13a, 13aW, 13b, 13b ')   located on either side of the main groove (12,12 ').   4.
