Abstract

The head rest for vehicle seats has a support unit (4) comprising two ring-shaped elements (5,6). The front element (5) carries a plastics foam cushion (16) which is covered by a sheet of material or plastics (15) whose edges are held in channels (13,14) formed on the inner and outer edges of the ring element (5). Formed in one piece with this element are tubes for the adjustable support legs. The rear element (6) carries a rear cushion (20) whose wedge-shaped edges (20a,20b) project into the channels (13,14) and is fastened to the front element (5) by means of tubular pins (19) which fit into holes in the front element (5).
