Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for winding in and paying out a fishing line. It comprises a rigid element 1 sandwiched between two thicknesses of cork 4 and extended by a handle 3. The operational shape of the assembly has been particularly designed to ensure easy movements for unwinding and winding the line 7. For this purpose the shape chosen was that of a truncated pyramid with parallel bases, with slightly rounded edges 2 or even that of a truncated cone with elliptical or parabolic conical sections. Of great simplicity and of low cost price, this accessory has been designed to make the handling of fishing lines very easy.

Description

FOLDING FEEDER FOR FISHING LINE.

 The present invention relates to a fishing accessory, acting as a folding device and also as a reel for fishing lines.

 To date, there are reels in the form of shuttles, such as French patent No. 1,215,272 or also folding or winding reels such as patents No. 1,236,428 and 1,285,742, or quite simply what is marketed, a simple cork device with a parallelepiped shape.

 To use these different devices, it is necessary to take them in the palm of the hand, which limits the maneuvers of winding and unwinding of the wire.

 The present invention has the effect of overcoming this drawback by presenting a device whose conical shape with parallel bases allows easy unwinding of the wire, the winding section of said wires being smaller and smaller.

 On the basis of the larger section, there is adapted a closed handle which may have a rectangular shape with or without the imprint imprint molded to receive the fingers.

 This handle is made of plastic or an alloy resistant to seawater corrosion, it can alternatively be extended by an element, a central part of which is cork, is embedded in the internal edges. The part made of cork can be made of any other material that meets the qualities of lightness, rigidity and flexibility such as, for example, polystyrene.

The material chosen should allow the attachment of hooks.

 This simple device makes it possible, the fingers of the hand being engaged in the handle, to carry out a rotational movement by completely releasing this folding-reel, and therefore by allowing the thread to be unrolled or wound easily, no surface coming to hinder its action.

 Figure f shows a front view of the fishing accessory, it comprises a rigid part (1) of little thickness, of trapezoidal shape. The lower part (2) having the rounded edges, while the upper part is extended by a handle (3) which can have either a hollowed part, as shown in the figure which offers the possibility of a good grip , for greater ease, a form of imprint can be provided for placing the fingers, by notching the internal edge, ie a very simple surface without recess, the assembly (1) and (2) constituting a single piece. The element (1) is sandwiched between two thicknesses of cork (4) and it is held there, either by gluing, or by clipping or by any conventional fixing means. The wire (7) wraps around the body (4).

 Figure 2 shows in dotted lines the different shapes of the element (1) without this being limiting, firstly the element (1) can be of dimension smaller than the cork part (4), it can also have a pointed shape (5), or even consist only of a base (6), the parts (5) and (6) always forming with the handle (3) a one-piece assembly. The role of said element being to provide support for the part made of cork.

 the part (4) being in the same way as during the first embodiment, fixed either by gluing, or by clipping on either side of said support (5) or (6).

 Given that the part made of cork may also be made up of only one element, the central part of which will have a slot or recess which has been specially designed to fit into the supports (5) or (6), its maintenance being as previously secured by gluing or clipping.

Figure 3 is a front view of a variant the element (8) has a shell shape in which is housed the cork element (9), the handle assembly (3) and element (8 ) can be either monobloc or separate. The wire (7) coming to wind on said assembly. Different thicknesses are provided and the center part

 In a simplified variant, the assembly consists of a single block of cork with or without a recessed part acting as a handle. it being understood that any other material can be used which meets the required qualities of lightness and surface allowing the attachment of small pointed elements of the hook type.

 What characterizes the present invention is the functional form below defined to ensure the movements of windings and unwinding in an easy manner, and so that the wire (7) can because of this particularly studied form unwind in a continuous manner , without it being necessary to provide tensile forces and even to wind easily.

 This studied form consists of a quadrangular pyramid trunk with parallel bases with slightly rounded edges, always with the concern of allowing the wire to unroll or wind without any obstacle being an edge hindering it, or still of a cone trunk with parallel and conical sections of the type either ellipse or parabola.

 Simple and inexpensive, this fishing accessory has been designed to make handling of fishing line wires easy.

Claims (6)

1.- Folding reel for fishing line, characterized in that it consists of an element (1) sandwiched between two thicknesses of cork (4) and that it is extended by a handle (3). The functional form of the assembly (1) (4) having been particularly studied to ensure the easy movements of unwinding and winding of the wire (7). To this end, said assembly (1) (4) has the form either of a quadrangular pyramid trunk with bases parallel to the slightly rounded edges, or of a truncated cone with conical elliptical or parabolic sections. 2.- reel folder according to claim 1 characterized in that the element (4) can be made either of cork or of a material meeting the required qualities of lightness and whose surface allows the attachment of pointed elements of the type hooks. 3. A folder-reel according to claim 1, characterized in that in a variant the rigid element (1) has the shape of either a point (5) or a base (6), the thicknesses of cork ( 4) retaining the same dimension as in the previous embodiment.  4. Folding reel, according to claims 1 and 3 characterized in that the fixing of the support (5) or (6) can be done either by gluing or by clipping, the element (4) can then be made of a single part having a recess to be able to receive said supports (5) or (6). 5. Folding reel according to claim 1, characterized in that in a second variant the element (8) has the shape of a shell in which comes to fit the central cork element (9). 6. Folding reel, according to claims 1 and 5 characterized in that the handle assembly (3) and element (8) can be either in one piece and of the same thickness, or separate and therefore of different presentation and shape.
