Device for fastening a trailer to a tractor vehicle with the aid of a retractable ball 2 intended to receive the fastening head 2a of the trailer and a main body securely fastened to the tractor, made from two parallel portions 1 connected along an assembly plane 3 and capable of coming into engagement with the lower portion 12 of the retractable ball and characterised in that: a.
