Description

L'invention concerne un article d'hygiène tel qu'u-
ne couche jetable qui comprend un polymère superabsorbant en tant que partie centrale absorbante et deux couches de
ouate duveteuse contenant entre elles le polymère. En par-
ticulier, l'invention fournit un perfectionnement de la struc-
ture de la couche de ouate duveteuse permettant que le po-
lymère absorbant puisse servir en tant que matériau absor-
bant principal vis-à-vis de la couche de ouate duveteuse.
Le polymère superabsorbant est désigné aussi par le terme de matériau absorbant de poids moléculaire élevé
et la ouate duveteuse est appelée aussi ouate cotonneuse.
De la ouate duveteuse est utilisée en tant que ma-
tériau central absorbant dans la plupart des types de cou-
ches jetables qui se trouvent dans le commerce actuellement.
Bien que des polymères superabsorbants ont été utilisés ré-
cemment dans quelques uns d'entre eux pour compléter la oua-
te duveteuse, il n'y a pratiquement pas de types de couches dantes lesquels des polymères superabsorbants sont utilisés
en tant que matériau absorbant principal dans la partie cen-
trale. Les qualités générales requises pour le.matériau cen-
tral absorbant sont un grand pouvoir absorbant afin d'empê-
cher que l'urine s'écoule de la couche, un rejet à la sur-
face de la couche de l'urine absorbée aussi limité que pos-
sible etc. I1 est courant d'augmenter la compression de l'oua-
te afin de permettre la diffusion rapide du liquide absorbé sur une large surface et de réduire l'humidité au toucher,
pour que les qualités requises citées ci-dessus soient réa-
lisées le mieux possible. Cependant, plus le matériau ab-
sorbant est comprimé, plus il absorbe efficacement, mais plus le matériau devient en même temps dur. La compression du matériau absorbant pour arriver à son effet maximum n'a
par conséquent pas été effectuée dans la pratique.
Dans ces circonstances, les auteurs de l'invention
ont mis au point la présente invention à la suite de recher-
ches poussées dans le but de parer à cet inconvénient, ba-
sée sur la découverte que l'on va décrire en détail dans
les paragraphes qui suivent, que l'utilisation d'une combil-
naison d'ouate duveteuse et d'un polymère superabsorbant qui peut absorber l'urine en une quantité égale au moins à plusieurs dizaines de fois son propre poids et qui en outre ne rejette jamais le liquide absorbe, comprimée à des de-
grés, dans une certaine mesure, divers, fournit non seule-
ment un plus grand pouvoir absorbant et un rejet d'urine moins important, mais fait aussi que l'article absorbant
lui-même est d'un toucher plus agréable.
Plus particulièrement, la présente invention four-
nit un article absorbant ayant.une partie centrale consis-
tant principalement en un polymère superabsorbant, ledit po-
lymère superabsorbant étant pris en sandwich dans de la ouate duveteuse, caractérisé en ce que ladite ouate duveteuse est composée d'une première zone comprimée et d'une deuxième zone plus comprimée, la densité de ladite première zone se
situant entre 0,04 et 0,15 g/cm3, la densité de ladite deu-
xième zone se situant entre 0,06 et 0,-4 g/cm3, et la surfa-
ce de ladite deuxième zone représentant de 10 à 50 % de cel-
le de l'ensemble de l'article absorbant.
Autrement dit, l'invention fournit aussi un arti-
cle d'hygiène qui comprend deux couches de ouate duveteuse
et un polymère superabsorbant intercalé entre lesdites cou-
ches de ouate duveteuse, au moins une des couches de ouate
duveteuse consistant en une première portion et en une deu-
xième portion par rapport à un plan de celle-ci, la premiè-
re portion ayant une densité allant de 0,04 à 0,15 g/cm3, la deuxième portion ayant une densité allant de 0,06 à
0,4 g/cm3, la deuxième portion ayant une densité plius éle-
vée que la première portion, de 10 à 50 % de la surface de la couche de ouate duveteuse étant occupés par la deuxième portion.
La couche de ouate duveteuse utilisable dans l'ar-
ticle selon l'invention est manufacturée en comprimant par-
tiellement de la ouate duveteuse de manière à ce que la
première portion et la deuxième portion puissent être cons-
tituées comme on l'a défini ci-dessus. Les trames de la pre-
mitre portion et de la deuxième portion de la couche de
ouate duveteuse peuvent être choisies comme on le désire.
Par exemple, la première portion est composée de petites
cloisons séparées les unes des autres et la deuxième por-
tion est composée de bandes continues qui s'entrecroisent
et entourent la première portion.
L'emploi du polymère superabsorbant en tant que composant principal du matériau central absorbant, comme on l'a dit plus haut, signifie qu'au moins 40 % d'environ
50 cm3 d'urine, c'est-à-dire la quantité d'urine corres-
pontant à une émission, qui est absorbée par le matériau central, sont absorbés par le polymère superabsorbant après
minutes.
Un avantage important de la présente invention est que l'utilisation d'un polymère superabsorbant en tant que matériau central absorbant principal peut permettre de réduire la quantité de ouate duveteuse et par conséquent le matériau absorbant ne se durcit pas même s'il est comprimé avec des pressions très fortes. Par conséquent, l'urine peut
diffuser d'une manière efficace grâce à une compression suf-
fisante. En outre, lorsqu'un tel polymère superabsorbant
est utilisé principalement, on ne peut arriver à une aug-
mentation substantielle du pouvoir absorbant et à une dimi-
nution du rejet d'urine que si le polymère superabsorbant
est utilisé de façon efficace. Le matériau central absor-
bant est comprimé pour que l'on aboutisse à une utilisation efficace de ce polymère superabsorbant en sorte que l'urine puisse être diffusée largement à l'intérieur du matériau central absorbant. Une compression du matériau central trop
élevée conduit cependant à un durcissement du matériau ab-
sorbant même si le polymère superabsorbant est utilisé prin-
cipalement.
Un autre avantage important de la présente inven-
tion à ce propos et que, comme l'ensemble du matériau cen-
tral absorbant est comprimé à une certaine pression et qu'u-
ne partie du matériau central est comprimée à nouveau avec une pression plus grande, l'urine est bien diffusée dans sa
totalité et elle est en outre diffusée largement dans la zo-
ne o le matériau est comprimé avec une pression particulié-
rement élevée. On arrive ainsi à la fois à obtenir la dif-
fusibilité de l'urine et la douceur du matériau absorbant.
Pour arriver à un tel durcissement adéquat du matériau, il est nécessaire de choisir la densité de la première zone de
la ouate duveteuse comprimée dans l'éventail de densités al-
lant de 0,04 à 0,15 g/cm3 et celle de la deuxième zone plus
comprimée de 0,06 à 0,4 g/cm3.'-Si la surface de la deuxiè-
me partie fortement comprimée excède 50 Z de l'ensemble de l'article, le matériau central absorbant devient dur, alors que si la surface est inférieure à 10 %, l'urine ne peut pas diffuser de façon efficace. Par conséquent, on préfère que la surface de la deuxième zone soit comprise entre 10
et 50 Z, en préférant particulièrement qu'elle soit compri-
se entre 20 et 40%.
Dans la présente invention, le polymère superab-
sorbant est pris en sandwich à l'intérieur de la ouate du-
veteuse. L'ouate de la couche supérieure doit représenter
de 20 à 80 % afin de maintenir le polymère entre les cou-
ches supérieure et inférieure de la ouate duveteuse.
Le polymère superabsorbant utilisable dans la pré-
sente invention comprend des polymères d'amidon, des poly-
mères acrylate, des substances cellulosiques et d'autres
composés de poids moléculaires élevés qui peuvent absor-
ber l'eau dans des quantités représentant au moins 50 fois
leur propre poids, parmi lesquels des composés polyacry-
late tels que le polyacrylate de sodium sont particulière-
ment préférés du point de vue du pouvoir absorbant.
Dans l'application pratique de la présente inven-
tion, on peut procéder à la compression de l'ensemble du
matériau et d'une partie de celui-ci simultanément ou sé-
parément. Par exemple, on peut effectuer la compression partielle après la compression de l'ensemble ou bien on peut
comprimer d'abord la pulpe des couches supérieure et infé-
rieure et comprimer partiellement ensuite le polymère su-

lon la présente invention sans s'écarter de l'esprit ni de
l'objectif de l'invention.
La figure 1 représente une section transversale
d'une couche jetable en tant qu'exemple de l'article ab-
sorbant selon la présente invention, la figure 2 est une section transversale d'une couche jetable en tant qu'autre
exemple, la figure 3 est une vae en plan du matériau cen-
tral absorbant selon la présente invention, et les figures 4 à 6 représentent des sections transversales agrandies
du matériau central absorbant selon la présente invention.

La présente invention est exposée ci-après plus
en détail à l'aide des dessins annexés.
- la Fig. 1 représente une section transversale d'une couche jetable comme exemple de l'article absorbant selon la présente invention; - la Fig. 2 représente une section transversale d'une couche jetable en tant qu'autre exemple,
- la Fig. 3 est une vue en plan du matériau cen-
tral absorbant selon la présente invention, et - les Fig. 4 à 6 sont des sections transversales agrandies du matériau central absorbant selon la présente invention.
La couche jetable selon la présente invention com-
prend un matériau central absorbant dans lequel un polymé-
re superabsorbant 3 est pris en sandwich dans les couches de ouate duveteuse 2 et 4, ledit matériau central absorbant

étant encore recouvert d'une couche externe 1 et d'une cou-
che externe dorsale 5, et la ouate duveteuse 2 et 4 étant composée d'une première zone comprimée 6 et d'une deuxième
zone comprimée à nouveau 7.
L'execution de la présente invention a été décri-
te ci-dessus mais cette description ne doit pas être consi-
déree comme limitative et divers changements et modifica-
tions peuvent être apportés à l'invention sans s'écarter de
son esprit ni de son objectif.
Ce qui suit est un exemple de l'article absorbant
selon l'invention..
Exemple
On a séparé approximativement en deux moitiés 10 g de ouate duveteuse pour former une couche supérieure et une
couche inférieure entre lesquelles on a étalé 2,5 g d'un po-
lymère superabsorbant (polyacrylate de sodium). On a compri-
mé ensuite l'ouate duveteuse comme l'indique le tableau 1 pour former un matériau absorbant. On a fait absorber à la partie centrale du matériau absorbant préparé (120 x 200 mm) 30 ml d'urine artificielle. Après 15 minutes, le liquide rejeté par 100 cm2 du matériau soumis à une pression de
g/cm2 pendant 2 minutes a été absorbé par du papier fil-
tre et on a mesuré la quantité de liquide rejeté. On a aus-
si évalué le toucher du matériau absorbant. Les résultats
sont indiqués dans le tableau 1.

Claims (3)

REVENDICATIONS R E Y E N D I C A T I 0 N S
1 - Article d'hygiène qui comprend deux couches de ouate duveteuse et un polymère superabsorbant intercalé entre lesdites couches de ouate duveteuse, au moins une des couches de ouate duveteuse consistant en une première por- tion et en une deuxième portion par rapport à un plan de celle-ci, la première portion ayant une densité allant de 0,04 à 0,15 g/cm3, la deuxième portion ayant une densité allant de 0,06 a 0,4 g/cm3, la deuxième portion ayant une densité plus élevée que la première portion, 10 a 50 Z de la surface de la couche de ouate duveteuse étant occupés
par la deuxième portion.
2 - Article d'hygiène selon la revendication 1, dans lequel la première portion est composée de petites
cloisons séparées les unes des autres et la deuxième por-
tion est composée de bandes continues qui s'entrecroisent
et qui entourent la première portion.
3 - Article d'hygiène selon la revendication l, dans lequel le polymère superabsorbant est du polyacrylate
de sodium.
