Abstract

Container, for protecting photographic or cinematographic films for X-rays, is of thermoplastics material contg. an embedded Ba cpd., such as BaSO4 or BaO, to shield against the X-radiation. Pref. thermoplastics materials are polystyrene, polyethylene and polypropylene. The Ba cpd. pref. constitutes 5-40% by vol. of the total. In one embodiment, the lid is simply attached to the box itself by a flexible hinge.
