Abstract

The invention relates to a chair for geriatrics comprising a seat 1 and a back 2 which are supported by a frame 4, in particular made of metal tubes, provided at its lower part with four feet which are extended by castors. In the chair, a footrest 14 is provided associated with a mechanism 19, 20, 21, 22 ensuring on the one hand its complete concealment beneath the seat and on the other hand adjustment in its height, a device 23, 24, 26, 28 for automatic braking of the rear wheels 11 and which cannot be manipulated by the person sitting in the chair, and two armrests 31 which are adjustable in height and can be fully lowered to the level of the seating part.
